Chapter 162 - Chapter 162: Slowly Integrating

The constant "Lord" made him quite uncomfortable. However, after correcting him many times, Tsuki still used the same address, so Torifū could only let him be.

"Let's leave it at that for now. My residence is in that direction; you can ask any villager. If you encounter any difficulties, feel free to come find me."

Tsuki's face held an apologetic expression: "I wouldn't dare trouble you, Lord. We've already caused you so much trouble."

Torifū waved his hand: "What's all this talk about? Once you're in Konoha Village, we're all family. No need to be so polite. Oh, by the way, did you finish all the medicine I gave you last time?"

Tsuki's heart warmed: "No, there's still some left, but it's almost gone." Torifū nodded. According to his estimate, that medicine would only last a few days, and they'd probably need a few more doses to completely heal the Oyashirō clan's old ailments.

"I have plenty more medicine here. When you run out, be sure to come to me for more. Don't delay your clan members' treatment."

"Alright, Lord, rest assured. I absolutely won't be careless with the health of my clan members."

With that, there was nothing else to do; everything that needed to be explained had been clarified. The remaining matters were for them to figure out on their own, including how to integrate into the village. After all, Torifū couldn't solve everything for them; otherwise, the Oyashirō clan joining Konoha Village would be meaningless.

Most of the clans within the village held a wait-and-see attitude toward the Oyashirō clan's arrival, unsure of what kind of clan they were. Only Sarutobi Sasuke brought his clan members to deliver some common necessities and funds. He also chatted with Tsuki for a long time; it seemed the two got along quite well. During their conversation, Tsuki also gained a basic understanding of Konoha's various clans. This could be considered the first step in their village integration. If there was one clan willing to befriend them, there would surely be a second. After all, they were personally brought back by the Shodaime Hokage, so others would surely show respect.

"Father, Konoha Village is truly wonderful, and the clan members' illnesses have also improved greatly."

Tsuki stroked En's head: "Things will get better and better. The Oyashirō clan will rise again, here in Konoha Village."

Tsuki hadn't been in such good spirits for a long time. Although he had been constantly busy, he felt incredibly fulfilled. His health was also improving, all good omens.

"Torifū-sama said I could go to the Ninja Academy." En looked at his father, seemingly asking for his opinion.

Tsuki was, of course, very supportive of this. En was the most outstanding child in the clan, and his talent absolutely could not be wasted.

"Torifū-sama also spoke to me about this. The academy won't start until next month, so in the meantime, get more familiar with the village." En was very happy with his father's support. While wanting to be a ninja was one aspect, En also wanted to make some friends at school. He had never had many friends growing up; even adult survival was a problem in the valley, let alone for children.

Many children perished early, so En had always longed for friends, but in the outside world, no one wanted to be friends with a small thief. Now that he had come to Konoha Village, En hoped he could make his first friend.

"Then, Father, I'm going out to play!"

"Go on, don't run too fast."

Before Tsuki could finish speaking, En had already darted away. Tsuki couldn't help but shake his head. He had always tried to act mature before, but now that he was in Konoha Village with no life pressure, his childlike nature was showing. Tsuki was very pleased about this. There were too few children the same age as En in the clan; in fact, to be precise, there were barely any children at all. Such a clan could not develop. They needed to prioritize getting the clan members healthy first, then work harder. Only then could the clan prosper.

After leaving the inn, Torifū returned home. After nearly half a month of traveling, he could finally rest. His home's furniture, however, was still very clean. Torifū had always employed several aunts to clean his house; otherwise, after returning from a mission, his entire home would be covered in dust, practically uninhabitable. That it was so clean now must be due to the aunts' cleaning. Even Snowflake's room had been cleaned, and fresh food had been put out.

Initially, the aunts were quite scared when they saw Snowflake speak, thinking it was some kind of demon. But after Torifū explained, they weren't so afraid anymore. And now, they had grown familiar with Snowflake, even chatting with him sometimes.

It was just noon now, and there were no ingredients at home to cook with, so he had to go out for a stroll. Konoha Village was bustling at this time, filled with various shouts and the aroma of restaurants. The Kumotsuru Clan compound was quite far from the other major clans, but very close to the regular villagers' area. Torifū happened to like this lively atmosphere, full of everyday life.

After wandering the streets for half a day and not finding anything he particularly wanted to eat, he finally ended up at a barbeque restaurant. He entered the restaurant with the waiter's enthusiastic greeting and found that Naori was there too.

Torifū was a bit confused. Naori hadn't been home for so many days; shouldn't she be having a good lunch with her family now? Why was she at a restaurant instead?

Naori was currently sitting in her and Torifū's private booth, lost in thought. Torifū called her name several times before she finally snapped out of it.

"Oh, Torifū, you're here too! Come sit, come sit." Saying that, Naori asked the waiter to bring another twenty plates of meat.

"Why aren't you eating with your father and grandfather at home? Instead, you're at a restaurant."

Naori put on a helpless expression: "Sigh, don't even get me started. For some reason today, my father insisted on cooking himself, and the food was indescribably terrible."

"My brother didn't dare to say anything, but I truly couldn't stand it. I secretly snuck out when they weren't paying attention." Torifū hadn't expected it to be such a trivial matter: "I thought your father disagreed with the Oyashirō clan joining Konoha and was angry with you."

"How could that be? Torifū, you're really overthinking it. Before I told him, he actually didn't even know there was a clan like Oyashirō."

"Even after he learned about them, he didn't feel any particular way about it. No need to worry too much." Hearing Naori say this, Torifū felt relieved. Although he had already told Naori to speak with her father, Torifū was still a bit concerned. Now that he was certain the Uchiha held no animosity towards the Oyashirō clan, it seemed the Oyashirō clan should be able to integrate into the village more quickly.

Soon, all the dishes were served, and the two of them chatted and grilled meat, utterly relaxed.
