The giant shark-headed villain snarled, its jaws dripping as it smashed into storefronts. Citizens screamed and scattered. Mount Lady, struggling to restrain the creature, was losing ground fast.
"Everyone, evacuate!" she shouted, dodging another wide sweep of its tail.
Just when the beast lunged forward, a gust of wind blew through the street like a shockwave.
"I am here!"
The voice boomed through the chaos. In a blink, All Might appeared in front of the creature, muscles bulging, cape billowing.
With a single punch, the shark-headed villain was knocked unconscious before he hit the ground.
All Might didn't linger. He leapt high into the air, disappearing in a blur of speed.
As he soared over the city, his mind wasn't at ease.
Midoriya… he told Bakugo about One for All. Not everything — not the origin, not my part—but still…
And then there was Jin Kuroda. He seems to have given good advice about controlling the quirk and it worked. I missed such simple thing. If only my master was alive. I was able to use the quirk instinctively. So I was unable to teach Midoriya about it.
For now, he shoved those thoughts aside.
Later that afternoon, Class1-A...
Aizawa-sensei entered the classroom, dull expression intact, capture weapon coiled loosely around his shoulders.
"We're doing rescue training today," he said without preamble.
Seto raised a hand. "What kind of rescue training are we doing?"
Aizawa pushed his hair back slightly, tired eyes scanning the room. "Natural disasters. Earthquakes, floods, fires. Situations where you'll need to save lives without throwing a single punch."
The class immediately perked up.
"Awesome!" Mina beamed.
"I've been waiting for this," Kirishima said, cracking his knuckles.
"I don't care what you wear," Aizawa added, "but I know you're all itching to use your hero costumes. Just make sure they don't restrict your movement. Get changed and gather out front. We're heading to an off-site facility."
With a press of a remote, compartments opened in the walls and costume cases slid out smoothly.
As the students stood and buzzed with excitement, Aizawa continued:
"Three heroes will be overseeing this training. Me, All Might... and another guest."
His gaze briefly paused near Jin.
They're clearly taking extra precautions since the break-in and the riot the other day...
I knew he was referring to the incident where things got out of control in the city. But something about the timing made me uneasy.
Could this really be a setup to draw All Might to one location? Or is it just because All Might is attending that the League is planning something?
My eyes instinctively drifted to Yuga Aoyama, who was adjusting his belt with an odd, distracted look on his face.
But whatever the reason, I knew I had to survive. I wasn't going to let anyone take my life.
Excitement was in the air.
Our class rep, Momo Yaoyorozu, stood at the entrance of the school, clipboard in hand.
"Everyone, please get on the bus one by one," she said calmly.
We filed in. I sat toward the back, near the window. The scenery rolled by — open roads, scattered trees — but the real noise was inside.
As expected, the conversation turned to quirks.
Asui looked at Midoriya curiously. "Midoriya's quirk makes me nervous. Every time he uses it, he gets seriously hurt."
Midoriya stiffened, but Kirishima cut in with a cheerful grin.
"All Might's quirk doesn't break his body like that, right? But augment-type quirks are really versatile. They might seem simple but you can do a ton with them!"
He looked around, thoughtful.
"The only ones here with quirks like a pro are probably Bakugo, Todoroki… maybe Jin."
I smiled slightly.
"Mine's not that flashy," I said. "It's not explosive like Todoroki's fire or Bakugo's blasts. Just... simple and efficient."
Asui turned toward Bakugo. "Well, even if your quirk's strong, Bakugo's got a bad personality. He's definitely not going to be popular."
Bakugo flared. "WHAT DID YOU SAY, FROG-GIRL?! I'LL KICK YOUR—"
Asui raised an eyebrow. "See?"
Kaminari leaned in, laughing. "Yeah, we just met you, dude, and it's already obvious — you've got a crap personality."
Bakugo exploded again. "SHUT UP OR I'LL BLOW YOU TO—"
Aizawa's voice buzzed over the comm from the driver's seat. "We are here. Everyone, get ready."
Everyone quieted down, some chuckling, others nervously glancing ahead.
I leaned back in my seat.
The bus rolled to a stop at the base of a massive dome — dark, sleek, and towering against the skyline like a sci-fi structure.
"Whoa..." Kirishima leaned toward the window. "Is that it?"
We stepped out one by one, gazing up at the facility. Its smooth curves and glass-like panels gave it a futuristic feel — like something out of a movie. It was hard to believe this place was built for training, not actual disasters.
The sign above the gates read:
U.S.J. – Unforeseen Simulation Joint
Aizawa spoke as we gathered near the entrance.
"This is the off-site training ground we talked about. Inside, you'll encounter simulated disaster zones. Fire, floods, landslides, urban collapse — all designed to test your rescue abilities."
We stepped through the reinforced double doors. A wave of cool air and sterile lighting greeted us… but as the main chamber came into view, the mood shifted from curiosity to awe.
Inside the dome was an entire artificial world.
To our left, a valley of collapsed buildings half-submerged in water. Further ahead, a faux mountain with mock snow blowing gently from vents. To the right, fires blazed in controlled zones while broken bridges and overturned vehicles lay scattered.
It was chaos — beautifully controlled chaos.
"Woah... it's like a theme park," Kaminari whispered.
"Disaster Disneyland," Mina added with a grin.
I scanned each zone carefully, noting the layout. From everything I remembered, the League of Villains would strike here, somewhere near the central fountain. My grip tightened slightly.
We were then approached by a woman in a sleek white-and-black hero suit, her round helmet gleaming under the artificial lights. Her cape fluttered as she walked.
Thirteen — the space hero.
Her voice came through her suit's speaker, gentle and kind.
"Welcome, Class 1-A!"
Midoriya straightened suddenly, eyes wide. "That's... that's Thirteen! She's one of the top rescue heroes in Japan!"
Mina blinked. "Huh? I thought she was support or something."
Midoriya shook his head, excitement brimming. "No way. She's incredible. She's saved dozens of lives from natural disasters. Collapsing tunnels, raging fires, floods... her Quirk, Black Hole, lets her suck in debris — even people — like a real black hole. It's insanely powerful."
"But more than that," he added with admiration, "she uses it for saving people, not fighting. That's why she's a rescue specialist."
I glanced at Midoriya.
Even now, he's geeking out over heroes. It's genuine. Pure. No ego in it. Just admiration.
