Katherine's POV
I told Jack that John didn't say anything, because if I told him what John tried to do, he would have pounded the hell out of his brother. The look on Jack's face as he barged into the house scared me more than what John had tried to tell me.
What had he been afraid of his brother telling me?
Even what he keeps in his drawers?
I couldn't stop thinking about that. I had told Jack that I was fine but my curiosity was turning my mind upside down. I wasn't fine. I wanted to know the truth.
I hissed at the turmoil in my mind. John that bastard. He knew this was going to happen.
"You look worried." Jack commented as we sat at the table that morning, having breakfast. "Are you sure you are fine?"
I let out a sigh as I dropped my spoon on the plate. "Yes, Jack. I'm fine. For the millionth time, I am fine." I spelled out the words for him and left the table, my appetite lost.
