"Why are you digging so deep? He's already in so much pain!" Belle exclaimed, her heart breaking as she watched the horrifying sight of the blade disappearing even further into his back. Rohan's cries and ragged groans tore at something inside her, making her hold him even closer and wish for everything to be over quickly.
Ereves, focused on what he was doing, answered her without taking his eyes off the wound. "Because it's not a normal bullet. It's a kind used to kill certain creatures, and it's meant to melt the flesh and move deeper. It has been left far too long inside him, so it has gone too deep." He explained this just as the tip of the knife finally touched the bullet.
"I found it," Ereves smirked as he dug out the bullet that had prevented Rohan from healing. Rohan let out a loud groan, unable to help it, and bit into Belle's flesh as he clung to her like a lifeline through the pain.
