The beeping of the phone left both women in a stifling and suffocating silence, both lost in the realm of their own thoughts. Jayden's mind raced with the fear of the unknown, wondering whether her father had caught a whiff of what was going on during the call.
Finally, Ann couldn't hold it in any longer and broke the silence. Jay, don't you think your father has caught wind of our plan? Or why would his call have that amount of coincidence? Something is definitely fishy. Ann remarked.
If this should really be the case, then there might be a need to restructure the company as well as run a strong background check on every newly employed employee. With a smirk on her face, Jayden answered with a smile that doesn't reach her eyes.
And concerning this father of mine, as you know, he can always do and undo; who knows what he wants to talk about that requires such a tone and urgency, moreover at this particular time? Anyways, I wouldn't rush back that easily, or else he'll really feel suspicious at the sudden obedience. Jayden continued.
You're right with that; I'll also suggest you take your time with the task at hand before heading back. That will give you the leverage to clear your head before any further argument. Or do you think he might want to cancel the wedding? Ann said, revealing a teasing smile.
Jayden glared at her. Stop adding salt to injury. We all know this matter has gone too far for any such thing to happen, and you don't just know the almighty Mr Cole. When has he ever backed down in anything? . I won't even be surprised if he decides to speed things up and brings the date forward. She said.
Ann stood up from the chair she sat on, adjusted her dressing, and headed back to her office, leaving behind the sound of her pointed heels and her advice for Jayden to speed everything up while she also headed back to do her part.
Everywhere was silent again with only Jayden in her office; she adjusted her dress and sat comfortably before the system, with her hands dancing on the keyboards to work against the limited time.

At this time, Tracy was seen pacing up and down with her phone in hand and lost in thought; the sound of a message sent her back to earth. She glanced at her phone screen, and a beautiful smile bloomed on her face while her peach-like lips kept muttering. This is it! Yes, this is it!
Her heart trembles with joy at the efficiency of her sister, that lady with a mysterious character and job. How intelligent of her to have gotten them such a location with a foolproof plan that leaves them with absolute success and no error! She felt like shouting and crying at the same time; this is really what she's been hoping for.
Although there seems to be a change in plan and they won't be needing any substitute again, this is better. Using a substitute is only 70% guaranteed success, but this is 95% sure success; the remaining 5% is mainly the doubt of the other party.
Tracy, who is now calm, decided to forward the message to her boss in their usual encrypted manner so as not to arouse suspicion, even if it fell into the wrong person's hands. She sat before her system while her two hands worked magic on the keyboard; she was able to send the message in minutes, and she relaxed on her seat and heaved a huge sigh of relief. Wow! That was so close! She said.
If it weren't for her smart brain, she knew she would have been tracked down. She started thinking of who it might be who's keeping a tab on them. Is her boss's father really a very capable man? Because there's no one else who will make it their priority to track her message, or could it be a company rival seeking their company secret?
That's not very ideal to cause how Could an assistant like her be privy to top-notch company secrets? It's not that feasible. Thank God she's able to secure her privacy; she focused on her system again and started typing, securing all messages all over while also keeping her location safe.
After all necessary things had been taken care of, she picked up her phone. Checked the address of the location sent, picked up her card key and headed out; she needed to be sure everything was safe and secure.
Tracy didn't directly walk down to her car; she directly took a U-turn and made use of an exit connected to the restroom. She walked into the female restroom and walked out in less than five minutes. Anybody who sees her now won't be familiar with her; she's changed her look and hidden the sharp aura of a capable assistant.
Even after all the disguises, she decided not to use her car and changed her mind halfway, and since it'll be difficult to instantly know the place without the help of a personal car or at least a private one, she heard of an automobile centre and rented a low-key Corolla to carry out her duty.
She picked up her purse to settle the manager, gave out another ID that matched her current look, stepped into the car and drove out.

Later that evening, Jayden paced her office, the sharp click of her heels echoing through the quiet halls. Only the distant murmurs of a few employees working overtime broke the stillness. Her mind raced, questioning why her father had called her back so urgently. What could he possibly want now?
For the past hour, she had ignored his calls and messages, trying to steady her nerves. But she knew her time was running out. Her father was not a man to wait, and she wouldn't be surprised if someone appeared at her door to fetch her.
Deciding it wasn't worth the risk of angering him further, she grabbed her car keys, adjusted her blazer, and walked briskly out of the office. In her haste, she left her phone on the desk, missing Tracy's critical message.
Downstairs, she tossed her car keys to the security guard, who quickly retrieved her car and brought it around. Jayden nodded her thanks, slipped into the driver's seat, and pressed the accelerator.
The drive to her parents' house was not that smooth, her mind spinning with worry. What could he want? Why now? Her heart pounded so fiercely that she had to pat her chest as if trying to calm the storm within.
Minutes later, she arrived at the grand Cole residence. She parked outside, took a deep breath, and stepped into the house.
The sight that greeted her was something she could never have imagined – not in a million years.
