Chapter 217 - tpm Chapter 220 finishing Udaeus

Inside the thirty-seventh floor, the corridor trembled beneath them as Luthar drove the heavy war bike through the stone passage at controlled speed. The engine roared as the reinforced chassis absorbed the uneven terrain while debris scattered beneath the tires. Behind them, the sound of pursuit rolled forward in crushing waves.

It was Udaeus.

Each step of the skeletal giant fractured the Dungeon floor, collapsing stone and sending shockwaves down the corridor. Dust chased the bike in thick clouds. Instead of looking back, Luthar adjusted the throttle by degrees, maintaining precise distance.

Wiene tightened her hold behind him, wings pressed flat against her back, the vibration of the engine traveling through her arms. She glanced over her shoulder as if asking why they couldn't use their legs.

Before she could complain about how uncomfortable the ride was, the corridor widened ahead. Luthar drove straight through the center of the open section and accelerated hard toward the far bend, widening the distance between them and the marked zone. Only once they'd crossed the boundary did he send the signal.

Behind them, Udaeus crossed into the designated section, and Natasha fired the cannon at once. The impact slammed into the boss's upper torso, and before it could react, the ground beneath it detonated — the previously placed explosives erupting in sequence, blasting upward through the stone. Smoke swallowed its lower frame as one leg destabilized under the blast.

Wiene moved immediately, launching from the moving bike, wings snapping open just enough to control her descent. The mace came down in a heavy arc, striking directly into the fracture the cannon blast had opened. The impact rang sharply through the corridor, widening the damage across its torso.

Luthar teleported without hesitation, reappearing within firing distance, and three precise shots struck the exposed structure. Ignoring its injuries, Udaeus's massive frame shifted to bring its weapon arm down toward the closest person. Luthar was already moving — he appeared in front of Wiene just as the counterstrike descended, an arm locking around her waist as both vanished from the impact line. The weapon struck stone where she'd been standing moments earlier, shattering the floor.

They reappeared beside the firing position. He released her and stepped aside.

The Siege Cannon thundered, the shot smashing into Udaeus's fractured torso. "Reload!" Natasha snapped, and the Widow near her dragged the next shell into place as the chamber opened. "Don't just stand there — Bolters, fire!" she reminded the two Black Widows who'd frozen. They reacted immediately, the Heavy Bolters roaring, explosive rounds slamming into the exposed damage point while the Siege Cannon reloaded. "Ready!" Natasha steadied the sight. "Fire."

The second Siege Cannon round detonated in the same location. The fractures widened under sustained fire, and through the shattered lattice of bone, the magic core finally became visible.

Luthar drew a compact hilt from his belt, the particle field extending into a stabilized blade. "I require three seconds," he said evenly.

Natasha adjusted her aim without looking at him. "Okay."

The Bolters shifted their fire outward, suppressing the limbs and preventing regeneration.

"Now."

Fire ceased along the narrow breach corridor, and Luthar was gone — reappearing inside the rib cage, directly before the magic stone. At this range, there was no obstruction. The blade drove forward at full output, its energized edge piercing the core dead center. A crack radiated outward instantly.

Taking no chances, he secured several compact charges against the fractured stone and along the inner structural lattice with his free hand, the timers synchronizing automatically. Then he was back beside the artillery line.

"Resume."

Natasha adjusted and fired. The round exploded at the exact moment the internal charges detonated, and the combined force tore through the magic crystal — the monster's structure disintegrating completely.

Luthar didn't lower his weapon. Instead, his attention shifted to the tactical feeds from his drones, a projection expanding in front of him to show the outer corridor where the summoned skeleton units were still fighting his Scarabs and drones. For a moment the skeletal warriors kept fighting. Then the light in their eyes went out, and they froze mid-motion. Within seconds, every summoned skeleton collapsed and disintegrated into dust.

Natasha stepped away from the cannon and walked toward Luthar, removing her ear protection. She glanced once at the collapsed remains of Udaeus before looking at him. "Please tell me that was the worst thing that exists in this world."

Luthar dismissed the drone projection and answered without hesitation. "No. There are many monsters inside the Dungeon that are much stronger than him, especially the Black Dragon."

She exhaled slowly through her nose. "That wasn't reassuring."

"It was not intended to be."

The Black Widows nearby pretended not to listen.

Natasha folded her arms. "Don't you feel that, as humans, we shouldn't be fighting monsters like that? Especially for some random beauty agents?"

"Those ingredients are quite important to me," Luthar replied evenly.

Her expression didn't change. "As for fighting," he continued, "you are my soldiers, so fighting should be expected. You should be happy that I fight alongside you rather than deploying you independently."

She gave him a flat look. "So I'm supposed to be grateful you're not treating us as disposable?"

"Gratitude would be appropriate."

No one could quite tell whether he was serious. Then, almost casually, he added, "We still have the Mephisto matter in the other world."

Natasha looked at him carefully. "You mean that thing actually exists? Not a cult. Not an enhanced human. An actual demon?"

"Yes. Confirmed extradimensional entity. Independent domain. Advanced manipulation capability."

She searched his face for exaggeration and found none. "And you're certain?"

"Yes."

Her gaze flicked toward the remains of Udaeus. "Can't we just avoid him? It's not like he's actively trying to destroy the world."

"No."

"What are our chances?"

"Approximately 2.5 percent."

A dry, humorless smile crossed her lips. "Please tell me that's our chance of losing."

"It is our chance of success," Luthar corrected calmly. "Subject to adjustment and the contract I have with the Ancient One."

Wiene tilted her head. "What's a contract?"

Natasha muttered under her breath, "Something we're definitely not signing."

Author's Note: After finishing the stupid demon , does anyone want to add something 🤔
