Chapter 24 - [Chapter —24]

[—Claim Random System Reward?]

Quickly he agreed, not seeing any reason not to obtain his reward as early as possible.

[—Rewards - Trace Gloves[Item] - Trace Gloves, gloves that allows the user to wash their energies through anything and in doing so uncovering information and real-time data of the traced object.]

He blinked for a moment as multiple thoughts and ideas went through his head at the usability and usefulness of his acquired item.

If it did what it it was said to do then it would streamline his Chimera Project by a great amount.

But first he needed to test it's validity.

Claiming the item from his inventory he watched as white gloves that would extend to his biceps materialised before him.

He marvelled at its sleek design and the black almost runic designs that were etched across its frame in line format.

" Atleast they look good." He muttered to himse further ignored the groans and whimpers of his brother.

But before he could put his gloves on he heard glass break before a 'thud' sound outside.

That took him back for a moment as he quickly rushed to his window fast enough to watch the silhouette of his brother running on all fours into the streets.

" Uh-oh." He muttered disinterested, a part of his was curious of where the boy would go but a bigger part of his didn't care so he just went back to his bed and put on the gloves.

As soon as his gloves were both on his hands he felt a 'thum' of magic coursing through his veins before disappearing as if it were never there.

Blinking to himself once more he put that out of his mind before grabbing a bottle of water, he had a lot of that in his room he realised.

Then with adept control of his mana he slowly channeled his mana into the gloves which activated whatever enchantments or magic that the gloves had, immediately as the gloves activated he felt information washing through his brain.

The chemical compounds of water being dissected, analysed and catalogued into his brain seamlessly alongside the impurities that the water had like micro plastic and germs that lay on the plastic itself.

He paused as a grin slowly made his way to his face, this was what he needed.

The gloves not only simply gave him information on what he was scanning but allowed him to understand everything on a level that he didn't think regular technology of his time would have allowed him.

He understood every single molecules and their function to the letter, the germs that were contaminating the bottle were dissected, their functions and uses catalogued further boosted by his own knowledge on how he could use them alongside [Intuitive Understanding] boosting everything.

" Well uh....that's something." He muttered inbetween shallow breaths before another thought crossed his mind.

He looked around and finally found a book on chemistry, university level chemistry that he had gotten once but never got the chance to really go through it.

He didn't know whether this would work or not but he still grabbed it and activated his gloves.

When he had expected to simply obtain information on the makeup of the book, instead each word and information from the book shunted itself into his brain like a tsunami.

He staggered as he felt a pulse of a headache slowly encroaching on his mind but once it slowly cleared, he gaped as suddenly he knew.

He knew of chemical compounds that he had never studied before, how he could use them to create truly terrifying things such as explosives, acids and more.

His highschool chemical knowledge felt a bit lackluster now but he didn't dwell on that as marvelled at his newest items capabilities.

He also felt his [Intuitive Understanding] working double time analysing the knowledge catalogued in his mind and making its own deductions, granting him further information that the book didn't have and even creating new theoretical improvements to some of the compounds with only what he knew.

There and then it was like something in him awakened, thoughts of Allison and her confusing nature was thrown out the window, Lydia and her feeling felt like nothing like a breeze and his brother? He cared not for the guy.

All that mattered then and there was abusing the living fuck out of his gloves and gaining more knowledge.

So that's what he did, scouring through his entire room for any book he could find, ignoring the headaches that seemed to get worser the more information he consumed.

He didn't stop at his room though, no. He scoured through the entirety of his house, his mother's, his brothers room and even the basement and attic for any book he could find.

Once he had scoured through the house he sluggishly walked up to his room, through the door open and jumped to his warm bed and passed out from the throbbing headache that didn't seem to have any plans to leave.

' I..might have went too far.' Was his last thoughts before his System started pinging him, Skill level ups and new skills etching themselves into his system and body.

—[Hours Later | Morning | 08:37]—

He woke up with a groan, loud shouts echoing through the house that he quickly recognised as his mother's.

The object of her ire being his little brother who only gave out stuttered explanations and excuses.

He listened in for a moment from his room and was able to hear the jist of the anger, Mom seems to have just came back from work and saw the broken window and apparently also saw Scott coming back from God knows where with his clothes ripped.

He groaned at the noise before frowning.

His senses were sharpened before but he always managed to passively keep them at normal human heights, so him being able to hear the conversation from all the way in his room wasn't normal unless he let his control slip.

Slowly he sat up and blinked as everything for some reason seemed to be much clearer, his sight being able to pick up every nuance thing in its sight and even some obscure colours that he had never seen or noticed before.

He didn't have to wait long before he obtained the reason for his confusion though.

[—Ding! The Xenox Bloodline has successfully assimilated! Changes to your stats have occured!]

' Wait, successfully? There was a chance of failure?' Was his immediate thought as he felt his eye twitch before he picked himself together.

Finally after the previous day's events, he'd see what his status had instore for him and how much more capable he had become.
