Who could have possibly anticipated this sudden, dramatic turn of events?
Della stared at the man before her in disbelief. "He's insane!" This was Doflamingo's auction house! Who was this man, to so brazenly slap the Heavenly Yaksha in the face?
"Miss, let's go!" Della was still frozen in a daze when several burly guards rushed over. "The auction house is collapsing!"
"Ah, oh." Only then did Della snap back to reality. Now was not the time to be curious; escaping with her life was the priority.
"Who are you! How dare you cause trouble at the Treasure Auction House!"
With such a major disaster unfolding, the auction house guards were on the verge of panic. According to the rules of the Donquixote Family, all of them would face cruel punishment. If they failed to capture the troublemaker, they would all be thrown into the sea to feed the sharks. The thought of the impending punishment made the guards' eyes turn red.
"Get him!" They were no longer concerned about the falling debris from above.
It was clear these guards had no idea what kind of monster they were facing.
Bellamy held the Slow-Slow Fruit in one hand, the other tucked casually into his pocket, his eyes completely ignoring the small fry.
I wonder if there are any officers stationed in such a luxurious auction house.
He hadn't left immediately because he wanted to wait for the person in charge to appear so he could kill them on the spot. This was a good opportunity to weaken the Donquixote Family, and Bellamy naturally wouldn't let it pass. Sooner or later, he would surely attack Dressrosa. If he could take out a high-ranking officer who had been caught alone here, it would relieve a great deal of pressure.
Devil Fruit abilities were varied and unpredictable; it was easy to get caught off guard. Doflamingo had a host of powerful subordinates. Besides the ones Bellamy had already killed, there was Pica, the user of the Stone-Stone Fruit; Sugar, the user of the Hobby-Hobby Fruit; and Monet, the user of the Snow-Snow Fruit, among others. They were all very troublesome characters, especially the Hobby-Hobby Fruit, which could turn anyone touched by the user into a toy of their choosing. While in toy form, the victim would not lose their ability to speak or think independently, but their body would be controlled by Sugar, bound by a contract to fight for the Donquixote Family until death.
Bellamy's Armament Haki wasn't strong enough. If he were to get hit by that, he would suffer a fate worse than death. That fruit was simply too overpowered. Of course, Sugar's existence was crucial to Doflamingo; she would certainly not be in a place like this.
The person in charge of the auction house had yet to appear, but these cannon-fodder guards were already charging at him with their weapons drawn.
Bellamy glanced at them impatiently, then lifted his foot and stomped hard on the ground. In an instant, the earth shook and the mountains swayed. The ceiling of the auction house, which was already collapsing, couldn't withstand such a violent tremor. With a deafening roar, it shattered completely.
Countless fragments of stone rained down, pouring onto the crowd below.
"Ahhh!!!"
"Help!"
In a flash, an unknown number of people were crushed into pulp. This terrifying scene horrified everyone. They all scrambled desperately towards the exit of the auction house, and the already chaotic situation instantly devolved into utter pandemonium. As for the guards who had just charged forward, they were all knocked to the ground by the tremor, unable to get up again.
"Hm?" Bellamy's Observation Haki suddenly sensed a large group of people rapidly approaching. "Here they come."
He couldn't be bothered to see who was stationed here; it wouldn't be anyone important anyway.
Bellamy leaped lightly, grabbing the largest piece of debris from the air.
"Go!"
With a roar, the piece of the shattered ceiling, dozens of meters long and weighing hundreds of tons, shot forward, hurtling towards a nearby corridor.
A large, ball-shaped fat man had just poked his head out when he immediately saw a giant rock speeding towards him. Machvise let out a strange cry and turned to flee back into the corridor. But behind him, a large number of guards were rushing forward, and in his haste to turn, he crashed right into them.
With a massive boom, the shattered ceiling slammed into the entrance of the corridor.
"He's not dead." Through his Observation Haki, Bellamy could sense that the fat man was still alive. He didn't recognize who this fat man was, but to survive such a heavy blow, he was likely no small fry.
So, he raised his hand, pointing an index finger in the direction of the giant rock. Dozens of streams of condensed elasticity flowed smoothly to his fingertip.
Finger Pistol: Piercing Wave!
With a swoosh, a white light flashed through the air. A small, perfectly smooth, round hole appeared in the giant rock at the corridor entrance. The next second, a few trickles of crimson blood slowly seeped out from beneath it.
"It's over."
Now that he had wrecked Doflamingo's place, it was time to go find some trouble for the Gold Emperor. It was time to make these underworld figures understand the consequences of offending him. Otherwise, people would just keep coming after him, day after day, without end.
The Treasure Auction House was located in the center of Carnival City, on its most prosperous street. The moment it was attacked, all the major and minor powers in the city received the news. Everyone was asking who was so bold as to cause trouble in the Heavenly Yaksha's territory.
Before long, a rumor began to spread through the underworld. The one responsible was likely the "Mad Dog" Bellamy, who had just recently entered the Grand Line. The people of the underworld were truly resourceful; it was a mystery how they had confirmed Bellamy's identity in just a few short minutes. It was also possible that the whereabouts of Drake and the others had been accidentally discovered, leading someone to conclude that the troublemaker was Bellamy. After all, there were very few people who would dare to act so recklessly and attack Doflamingo on Carnival City.
Anyone who was anyone in the underworld knew who Bellamy was. It couldn't be helped; Bellamy's bounty in the underworld was simply too high. With the black market bounty and the Marine bounty combined, it was over a billion Beli. It would be stranger if he didn't attract attention.
Upon hearing that the Mad Dog Bellamy might be on the island, many bounty hunters and professional assassins immediately got ideas. This was a sky-high bounty. If they could pull off this one job, they would be set for life.
But for every greedy fool, there was a more level-headed hunter. Those with better information had likely already received the news of Bellamy killing Onigumo. Marine Headquarters Vice Admiral Onigumo was no simple character. The fact that Bellamy could kill him in a direct confrontation showed that his true strength had probably reached a terrifying level. To attack him rashly was simply courting death.
