There has always been a legend on the seas: the end of the New World is the final island, Laugh Tale. Bellamy had always treated this legend as a joke. He was currently standing at the summit of Reverse Mountain; as long as he crossed the giant peak before him and then flew over a stretch of the Red Line continent, he could immediately reach the end of the New World. If the One Piece was so easy to find, this world would have long been overrun with Pirate Kings.
Charlotte Linlin, Kaido, Shiki the Golden Lion – which of these great pirates couldn't fly? How could a mere mountain peak possibly obstruct their path? But since he had already arrived here, Bellamy's curiosity about the end of the New World was piqued. It was just a short flight away; why not go take a look? The moment this thought appeared, Bellamy was immediately tempted.
They were currently at the X-shaped intersection, where the five currents converged. The currents here formed an unusual equilibrium. The ship, parked here, was as safe and stable as if anchored in a lake. Bellamy pondered for a long time, but ultimately couldn't restrain his curiosity.
"You all wait here for me for a bit. I'm going to take a look at the other side of the mountain." The others weren't very familiar with the world's geography and somewhat failed to understand what the captain intended to do. After all, the furthest they had ever traveled in their lives was the time spent following Bellamy. Only Drake immediately grasped Bellamy's intentions. As the son of a Rear Admiral, he possessed a good family education and had a certain understanding of Reverse Mountain and the Grand Line.
"Captain, be careful." He wasn't very clear on the situation in the New World either. Drake only knew that the New World's environment was extremely harsh, making it almost impossible for ordinary humans to survive there.
"Don't worry, I'm just going to take a peek." In truth, even Drake was very curious about what the end of the New World was like. It was just that with his proficiency in Moon Walk, trying to scale such a cloud-piercing mountain peak and then cross a stretch of the Red Line continent was still a bit too strenuous for him.
"We'll stay in touch via Den Den Mushi." After making a few more arrangements, Bellamy unhesitatingly leaped into the sky and flew towards the giant mountain peak before him.
Contrary to what he imagined, this mountain peak held nothing particularly strange. Apart from being a bit taller, it was really just an ordinary mountain. Bellamy easily reached its summit. Next, he just needed to fly over a small stretch of the Red Line, and he would arrive at the end of the New World.
His current location was somewhat peculiar. A glance at a world map would reveal that if one were to pass through the earth's core from this spot, the diametrically opposite point would be the Holy Land of the Celestial Dragons, Mary Geoise. Bellamy lingered here for a moment, admiring the scenery from the mountaintop, then quickly set off again towards his goal.
Below him now was the legendary Red Line continent. This magical continent encircled the entire world, dividing one complete world into two semicircles. This was the first time Bellamy had looked down upon this mystical land from the sky. The Red Line continent, true to its name, was entirely red. This in itself wasn't particularly strange, but what puzzled Bellamy was that after searching from the air for a long time, he couldn't see any signs of life. Forget animals; there wasn't even a speck of green vegetation.
This was too bizarre. This land should be very fertile. Bellamy couldn't resist flying down and grabbing a handful of red earth. "It seems no different from ordinary soil." But why?
With this doubt, he once again flew up into the sky and continued flying for a long time. This vast land, apart from red soil, truly had nothing else. No plants, no animals, no trace of humans, no sign of any living beings.
"This is too unreasonable." Such fertile land; casually planting anything could sustain countless people. Population was the most precious resource anywhere; even the Celestial Dragons needed a large number of slaves to maintain their superior lifestyle. Bellamy couldn't figure out why. "No, wait. There are humans on the Red Line." Wasn't the Celestial Dragons' Holy Land, Mary Geoise, built on the Red Line?
He seemed to have touched upon some secrets of the Celestial Dragons, but with his current strength, it was still too early to meddle with these things. He could only temporarily bury this doubt in his heart and investigate when the time was right.
Bellamy's flying speed wasn't slow. After a few hours, the sea level was already faintly visible ahead. "Almost there." From afar, it seemed quite ordinary. Bellamy picked up speed and flew rapidly towards the New World.
As he drew closer and closer to the coastline, the appearance of the New World finally unfolded completely before his eyes.
"Holy shit!"
"This is the end of the New World?!" The terrifying scene that appeared before him was such that Bellamy couldn't help but curse out loud.
On the sea ahead, there was a super-massive whirlpool whose edges couldn't be seen at a glance. This massive whirlpool was spinning frantically, and every second, countless amounts of seawater disappeared into that bottomless abyss. The immense suction force generated by the whirlpool's rotation seemed to want to swallow everything into it. Bellamy, standing in the distant sky, could even feel a pulling force tugging at him.
The sheer size of this whirlpool and the terror of its suction force were somewhat beyond Bellamy's imagination. With such a rate of suction, countless tons of seawater were disappearing every second. If this continued, wouldn't the world's oceans truly be devoured completely?
Bellamy stood in the sky, his mouth agape, unable to close it for a long time. This scene was simply too shocking. Before this, he could never have imagined that the end of the New World would look like this. He dared to be certain that no ship could approach within ten nautical miles of this whirlpool. He was standing so far away, still in the sky, yet he was being pulled towards it. Once caught by this suction, even flying would make it difficult to escape.
"This whirlpool… what exactly is going on with it?" Was it placed here as an obstacle, intentionally preventing people from entering the New World from this direction? Unlikely. If one really wanted to get past, couldn't they just fly through the upper atmosphere? How could such a method possibly stop anyone?
"Just how many secrets does this world still hold that I don't understand?" He had thought he already understood the secrets of this world well enough, but at this moment, Bellamy suddenly realized that what he knew was only the most superficial stuff. The true secrets of this world were still hidden in the deepest depths, waiting for him to discover.
"I somehow feel that this world… is becoming more and more interesting."
