The giants charged into the town. The members of the Beasts Pirates met them head-on, the pirates at the front transforming into their bizarre and varied hybrid forms. They were all Zoan Devil Fruit users.
Ninety percent of the Devil Fruit users in the Beasts Pirates were Zoan types.
"All of you, fall!" Dorry roared, gripping his giant sword with both hands. The blade turned fiery red, radiating an intense heat. It too was a Dial Weapon.
He swung the sword forward, and a stunning slash of fire shot out at an incredible speed.
"Hakoku!"
He had opened with his most powerful attack. The terrifying flame slash tore through the air, shredding any pirate it touched. It continued on, cutting a path straight through the entire town and leaving a massive chasm in its wake.
The Beasts Pirates' formation was instantly broken.
"Dorry, what are you doing?! Don't destroy the town!" Brogy yelled. He let out a roar and leaped into the air, his body rapidly changing. He transformed into a massive black bull and landed on the ground. With a stamp of his hooves, he charged wildly into the ranks of the Beasts Pirates, impaling one pirate after another on his horns and sending them flying.
Brogy had merged with the Ox-Ox Fruit of a man named Bohn Jois. His strength, speed, and defense had all been multiplied, and his destructive power was off the charts.
The Zoan Devil Fruit users of the Beasts Pirates were like infants before him, unable to withstand his immense power.
"I'm coming too!" Among the giants, there were also Zoan users. They transformed into massive beasts and followed behind Brogy, their rampaging force pulverizing the ground. The remaining giants swung their Dial Weapons, crushing the rest of the pirates.
"Brogy, don't kill them all! We still have a use for them!"
Although the Giant Corps only consisted of a dozen or so giants, each one was a force capable of taking on ten, or even a hundred, men. Especially after merging with powerful Zoan fruits, their strength, speed, and defense had been further amplified, making their destructive capabilities even more terrifying.
Bege even had plans to turn the Giant Corps into an entire army of Zoan Devil Fruit users.
Of course, that was provided he could find enough good Zoan fruits for them.
In less than ten minutes, the several hundred members of the Beasts Pirates were all lying on the shattered ground, a testament to the terrifying power of the Giant Corps.
Dorry picked up an unconscious pirate from the rubble, a smile spreading across his face.
"This little guy seems to be a Goshawk Devil Fruit user. A rare flying type. I like this ability."
Dorry had always wanted a flying-type Zoan fruit, preferably an Ancient Zoan like Little Oars's. Of course, he knew how rare Ancient Zoans were and that they were nearly impossible to find. Seeing a Goshawk user today, he was eager to merge with it and gain its power.
The other giants who didn't have Devil Fruits were also searching through the battlefield, hoping to find a suitable ability for themselves.
"Stop looking! Let's go support the captain!" Brogy said, changing back to his human form and calling out to Dorry and the others.
Dorry stuffed the unconscious pirate into his pocket, grabbed his giant sword, and followed Brogy toward Oars's battlefield.
The fight between Oars and King was still a stalemate.
The moment Dorry and Brogy arrived, they immediately unleashed their strongest Hakoku attacks. Two stunning slashes instantly blasted through the air, hurtling toward King.
King's expression changed drastically. The power of Hakoku was still incredibly terrifying.
He gripped his sword with both hands, and flames shot to the sky. He swung out a massive slash of his own, colliding with the two incoming attacks. The terrifying explosion created a circular shockwave that swept out for a thousand meters, blasting everyone away. The shockwave tore across the entire island and out into the sea, kicking up violent winds and massive waves.
King instantly transformed back into a black pteranodon and shot into the sky. He looked down at the shattered landscape, at the unconscious and dead bodies of his crewmates, and his expression turned extremely ugly.
A sound of tearing air came from behind him. The Dragon-Eating Giant Eagle ripped through the storm, flying swiftly toward him.
King gritted his teeth, turned, and fled, disappearing from the island in the blink of an eye.
They had lost this battle. There was no need to continue fighting.
Oars watched King leave and let out a cold snort. He flew back down to the ground and returned to his human form. He had several new sword wounds on his body, and blood was flowing freely. But after a few moments, the bleeding stopped, and new flesh began to grow over the wounds, forming scabs.
"As expected of the top All-Star of the Beasts Pirates. He lives up to his name. His attack power is truly terrifying," Oars said, his expression grim. Although he had fought King to a draw, he knew that if the fight had continued, there was a ninety percent chance he would have lost.
"Start clearing the island of the Beasts Pirates and any other factions," Oars ordered. "Imprison all the Devil Fruit users. As for the rest, kill anyone who resists." The dozen or so giants, along with the men from the Giant, began to move into the town.
At the same time, on other important islands, the captains of the Fire Tank Pirates were leading their own squads to seize control.
On an important island called Ruri Island, which had been occupied by the Big Mom Pirates, the defense was led by Big Mom's second son, Charlotte Katakuri, the user of the special Paramecia Mochi-Mochi Fruit.
He was the man who would one day become the Big Mom Pirates' second-in-command, the leader of the Four Sweet Commanders, a user of Conqueror's Haki, and a master of Observation Haki with an undefeated record: Katakuri.
The one leading the charge to take Ruri Island was Moria. At this moment, he and Katakuri were locked in a fierce battle.
Katakuri was still young, but he already possessed formidable strength.
The fight between Moria and Katakuri had reached a fever pitch.
Boom... Rumble...
The two clashed wildly, the powerful impacts shattering the ground. A dozen mochi fists, coated in Armament Haki, suddenly shot out from Katakuri's back. The black, square, spiked fists rained down on Moria.
"Shadow Fist Gatling!" The shadow behind Moria came to life, forming into a series of flat fists, also coated in Armament Haki, that shot out to meet Katakuri's mochi fists. They clashed in a furious barrage, shadows and mochi fists shattering on impact.
Katakuri vanished in a flash, reappearing at Moria's side with incredible speed. He thrust his trident, Mogura, at Moria's chest.
Moria's expression darkened. He kicked the trident, and the surprising force of the blow knocked Katakuri back.
A glint flashed in Katakuri's eyes, and his expression changed. He quickly disappeared again. In the next instant, a volley of Shadow Spears blasted the spot where he had been standing.
Moria stared at Katakuri, his voice low. "Such powerful Observation Haki. Bege told me that your Haki could reach the highest level, allowing you to see a part of the future. I wonder what level it's at now."
Katakuri's expression hardened. His Observation Haki was already at an advanced level, and he could indeed glimpse flashes of the future. But besides Big Mom and a few other family members, no one knew about his ability. He had never met Bege, so how could he possibly know about it?
"No comment," Katakuri said coldly.
"It doesn't matter," Moria said with a savage grin, the shadow beneath his feet writhing and lashing out. "We'll find out once we fight."
