Chapter 173 - Chapter 173: Running for President

"No big deal, just keep being my Xiuyu. But since you're still my man, why not visit me in space once in a while?"

Carol turned, eyes twinkling mischievously as she looked at Su Xiuyu.

After a long, intimate embrace, Carol noticed Su Xiuyu reacting again—and without another word, the two of them began yet another fierce round of battle.

Later, Carol donned her usual Kree combat uniform with a blank expression, while Su Xiuyu gave her a one-second transformation show. The white robe of the Six Paths settled onto his body, radiating divine power.

Carol eyed him with interest, then boldly reached out her hand.

"Carol, stop! There's not a drop left," Su Xiuyu groaned. "We've been at it for a whole week. Fighting and more fighting. Spare me this time, will you?"

Even with his Six Paths-enhanced body, Su Xiuyu struggled to keep up with Carol's relentless energy. Her stamina was nothing to scoff at either.

"Fine, I'll let you off this time. But make sure to visit me next time," Carol said, smirking.

"You're leaving already?" Su Xiuyu blinked, surprised by how suddenly she was departing.

"I don't want to make things awkward. You've got two wives on Earth, remember?" Carol hugged him one last time. "Besides, I crave freedom. Staying in one place too long just isn't me."

She handed him a sleek communicator.

"This works anywhere in the universe. Just call me when you have time. Oh—and by the way, my husband's in great shape." With a wink and a trail of stardust, Carol blasted off.

---

Back on Earth, Su Xiuyu had barely touched down when Tony Stark came knocking.

Tony stared at him with wide eyes, brows furrowed suspiciously. Su Xiuyu, for a brief second, felt inexplicably guilty—like a kid caught sneaking cookies. But then he remembered: Mito and Chisato weren't the jealous type. Straightening his back, he met Tony's gaze.

"What?" he asked.

Tony crossed his arms. "You were fighting with Carol, and then just... stopped? Why the hell did it take you a whole week to come back?"

Concern laced his voice. Tony wasn't thinking of scandal—he was more worried they'd had a serious falling-out.

"Uh... something happened," Su Xiuyu muttered awkwardly.

Tony didn't press. Instead, he got to the point. "America's falling apart. The government's a mess, the military's lost its mind, and the public's scared. We're at a crossroads. So, what's your plan?"

"You want to rule America or something?"

Su Xiuyu shook his head. "The military's obsolete, Tony. You should run for president. I'll support you."

"Me?" Tony blinked. "You want me to run the country?"

"The ninja need land. I'll help them gain it legally. As for me—I don't want to rule over ordinary civilians. But I need authority. Real authority. That might sound contradictory, but it's the truth."

He paused, looking out the window.

"Sooner or later, Earth will face more alien invasions. The world's changing. It won't just belong to humans anymore. It'll be home to those with powers—those who can protect it."

Tony frowned. "So I'm your... puppet president?"

Su Xiuyu rolled his eyes. "You're Tony freaking Stark. With your money and influence, you can stabilize Stark Industries and use its tech to strengthen the country."

He leaned in. "Now imagine—just imagine—the Earth loses half its population overnight. Governments collapse. Chaos everywhere. What do you do then?"

Tony scoffed. "Come on. That's a ridiculous hypothetical."

But Su Xiuyu didn't flinch.

"You really believe something like that could happen?" Tony asked slowly.

"Yes," Su Xiuyu replied. "I'm the future Sorcerer Supreme. I've glimpsed the timeline. I'm not making this up."

Of course, he wasn't going to tell Tony the full truth. Thanos wouldn't get the Infinity Stones in this world—not without going through Su Xiuyu first. And unless Su Xiuyu wanted to hand over the Stones, Thanos wouldn't stand a chance.

This wasn't about the Mad Titan. It was about removing the military and installing someone trustworthy—someone like Tony.

Tony considered it in silence. It took three days, but eventually, he made his decision.

He called a press conference and addressed the nation.

---

"Hello, everyone. I'm Tony Stark. Yeah, that Tony Stark," he said, standing confidently behind a podium as cameras flashed from every direction.

"You all know me as the genius inventor, billionaire, and former playboy. But I know what you've all been through lately. America's hurting, and it's time someone took real responsibility."

"I'm officially announcing my candidacy for President of the United States."

The room gasped.

"I promise to end the government's conflict with powered individuals. I promise Stark Industries will be the first line of defense against any alien threat Earth faces. Just like I was during the Battle of New York."

"And no, you don't have to worry about me embezzling money—I'm already the richest guy in America."

He gave a wry smile. "Now, the next video is footage from the New York War. Parents, please watch with your kids."

Tony had hacked every major media outlet and device in the U.S. Instantly, the footage of the Chitauri's brutal invasion played on every screen—along with the chilling scenes of the military preparing to nuke New York.

But more importantly, the video showed the moment ninjas arrived and turned the tide of battle.

Across America, chaos turned to outrage.

People who once feared the ninjas now questioned everything. Why had their own government resorted to nuclear bombs as a first solution? Why hadn't they protected their citizens properly?

If New York—glorious, powerful New York—was treated as expendable, what hope did other cities have?

----------------------

As human beings, we naturally feel a sense of sympathy toward our own kind. But the reputation of the American government and military plummeted overnight—so far, in fact, that they were branded as butchers across the globe.

No nation dared to step up and defend them. After all, what the U.S. military had done amounted, by any moral standard, to genocide.

And anyone foolish enough to speak on their behalf now? They'd be digging their own grave.

The situation deteriorated rapidly. Even if the U.S. government rushed out a statement trying to explain things, how could they possibly erase what was already done?

The evidence was clear. The remnants of a nuclear strike stood as a cold, undeniable truth. No amount of spin could change the fact.

But in that darkness, a light appeared—Tony Stark.

The man who had once been the symbol of American capitalism had now become a symbol of sacrifice. When the missile came, he was the first to act. A billionaire who risked everything, who flew straight toward death with no hesitation. That kind of courage moved even the most cynical hearts.

So, when people began rallying behind him, it was no surprise. Though it wasn't an election year, the American people took to the streets, demanding change. Demanding him.

After two tense months, amid a collapsing government and chaos across the nation, Tony Stark was declared the new President of the United States.

Whether the original administration agreed or not didn't matter. The people—and the ninjas—stood with Tony.

And behind the scenes? It was the Uchiha who cleared the path.

Objections from the elites of the old world? Answered with a single glance from the Sharingan. Opposition from high-ranking officials? Those who could be hypnotized, were. Those who couldn't… were dropped off somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico. Permanently.

After Tony's triumphant inauguration parade, the tensions between the ninja factions and the former government all but vanished.

Captain America wasn't exactly thrilled with the new order, but Steve Rogers remained with S.H.I.E.L.D., still faithful to its core mission: maintaining global peace.

Tony's first executive act as President was bold—he declared all ninjas to be legal citizens, with full rights and protections.

Then, following Su Xiuyu's advice, he founded a new global organization to manage superpowered affairs.

The name? Justice League.

Why that name?

Because Su Xiuyu was too lazy to think of a better one. And besides, having two "justices" in the title sounded more righteous than the Avengers ever did.

Standing before the world during his address, Tony said:

"I know many of you still harbor doubts about the ninjas. But please, trust me. I stake my name and my legacy on this—ninja activities will be governed by law. Any violations will be punished. And the one leading this new order, Mr. Su Xiuyu, will personally ensure accountability."

"He is not only the strongest among them… but also my friend."

Then came the business bombshell.

"Starting today, Stark Industries will officially enter the energy sector. Our arc reactor technology is fully mature and ready to change the world. I will establish a large-scale power company in New York, and expand from there across the nation."

"And don't worry about the cost. Electricity prices will be lowered. Stark Industries will not chase profits in this field. This is my promise to the American people—as CEO, and as President."

Truthfully, Tony had planned to enter the energy industry for years, but traditional power elites had always blocked him. Now, standing at the peak of political power, backed by the unwavering support of ninjas, nothing could stop him.

His first order of business? Rebuilding New York.

With both Tony's money and the labor of ninja clans, reconstruction began immediately. And by now, public acceptance of ninjas had skyrocketed.

After all, wasn't it the leader of the ninja world—Su Xiuyu—who had saved New York from total annihilation?

The ones physically rebuilding the city were mostly Genin from the various villages. Jonin and Chunin were far too valuable for basic labor. Instead, they oversaw the logistics and defense.

Meanwhile, in a much quieter corner of the world—on Penglai Island—the Jonin of all major villages had gathered. The reason? Profit-sharing.

Because while war might be over, the spoils were up for grabs.

Su Xiuyu stood at the head of the table, every Jonin respectfully awaiting his words. In this new world, strength still spoke the loudest—and he was undeniably the strongest.

"Let's be clear," Su Xiuyu began. "This is a meeting about distribution, yes—but let me remind you: we are ninjas, not bandits. We don't grow strong by robbing the innocent."

"Second, this world is far vaster than ours. What we see now is just Earth. The universe is filled with worlds beyond imagination. This—" he swept his hand across the horizon, "—is only the beginning."

"Third, the technology of this world far surpasses ours. That gap in productivity is massive. Therefore, for now, no Earth technology is to be brought back to the ninja world. Don't ask why—you wouldn't understand yet."

"Finally… the Uchiha and Uzumaki clans will take 60% of the profits. The remaining 40% will be negotiated among Iwagakure, Kirigakure, Kumogakure, and Sunagakure."

Some Jonin exchanged glances. Including Kumogakure and Sunagakure in the profit pool had been unexpected.

Su Xiuyu addressed that, too.

"The Fourth Raikage was nearly killed. That earns some sympathy. And Sunagakure's natural conditions are harsh—they need support. I've expanded the pie not so you all keep fighting over crumbs. Are we clear?"

He said no more. The message was received.

The details were left to the villages themselves. In the end, the agreement was:

Iwagakure: 13%

Kirigakure: 10%

Kumogakure: 9%

Sunagakure: 8%

Of course, these were symbolic profits. In reality, they represented influence, territory, and future development rights.

And no one dared ask for a larger cut from Konoha.

Su Xiuyu's personal intervention during the final phase of the Battle of New York had ensured absolute victory. On merit alone, the 60% was justified.

The first tangible reward? Farmlands.

Vast plains once owned by the U.S. federal government were divided among the villages as enclaves—land in another universe, fertile and untouched.

To Sand Ninja, it was a godsend. Arid no more.

These lands, more than gold or power, were the foundation of the next era.
