Chapter 49 - THE DIVINE FORGE

Raigor and Veran landed on a barren and desolate land. Around them, the ruins of an ancient city stretched out under a fiery red sky. At its center, nestled between the mountains, stood an immense portal of stone blackened by flames.

"This is the Last Forge?" Veran asked, looking at the colossal walls covered in glowing runes.

"Yes," Raigor replied, gripping the hilt of his weapon. "And if the legends are true, within lies the fire that can break even fate."

A roar echoed in the air. From the depths of the portal, two golden eyes lit up in the darkness.

A guardian awoke.

THE KEEPER OF THE FLAME

From the portal emerged a titanic creature, made of fire and molten metal. A flaming golem, towering as a tower, clutching a glowing hammer.

"Only the worthy can awaken the power of the Forge!" the creature roared, the ground cracking beneath its feet.

Veran and Raigor exchanged a look. They had no choice.

They had to fight.

The golem raised its hammer and brought it down with devastating force. Raigor lunged forward, narrowly avoiding the earth-shaking impact. With a battle cry, he slammed his blade into the guardian's arm, but the steel shattered against the hot metal.

"Damn, it's too strong!" Raigor growled.

Veran darted behind him, leaping over the creature. With a swift gesture, he summoned his poison-infused daggers and hurled them at the golem's flaming eyes. The blades sank into their target, and the monster roared in pain.

The guardian staggered, and in that instant Raigor saw his opportunity.

With all his strength, he plunged the blade into the creature's incandescent heart.

A burst of light engulfed them.

STEEL OF THE GODS

When the dust cleared, the golem lay on the ground, its body dead.

From its carcass, a massive forge ignited, fueled by divine flames.

Raigor and Veran approached, feeling the heat pulsing through their souls.

The time had come.

With their weapons in hand, they plunged them into the Divine Forge. The metal absorbed the energy of the flame, and their power awoke.

Their blades now glowed with a mystical aura. They were finally ready to face the Dark Dragon.

But in the silence of the Forge, a shadow moved.

Someone was watching them.
