The battle at USJ ended and the back-up arrived at the last minute as usual. They helped capture the remaining villains. Police cars and ambulances gathered near the entrance of USJ.
As Kazuto had expected, Shoto shielded the punch with ice, but the crash into the wall knocked him out, Kirishima had a fractured arm and Bakugo had a broken nose. Recovery girl could easily heal those injuries.
All students gathered outside where the doctors first checked everyone for injuries. The police decided to question them later since they had just been through a traumatic event.
As for Kazuto, he was carried into an ambulance in a stretcher and that's when everyone saw how badly Kazuto was injured. His face was crushed, his arms and legs broken and an iron rod from the building pillar embedded in the thigh.
Seeing him, Sero commented "If Kazuto is in that situation, I can't imagine how strong the villain was."
Asui said "He still managed to hold him and had control of the situation until Shoto, Bakugo, Kirishima and Yaoyorozu showed up. He took the blow to protect Yaoyorozu and got beaten up."
Asui had a habit of telling what's on her mind and Momo, who heard Asui, didn't say anything and just looked down while clenching her fists.
A police officer walked to the detective incharge, detective Tsukauchi, holding a katana with gloves. It had dried blood all over it.
The class immediately recognised it and Mineta said "That is Kazuto's katana."
The detective said "We will have to take it for our investigation, but don't worry. We will give it back to him after the investigation."
The media, who were far from the centre, managed to capture an image of Kazuto on the stretcher and the reporter said in her mic "We are outside USJ, a facility near UA High school. It is used by UA to train their students in rescue operations. The facility was just attacked by villains who call themselves 'The league of Villains'. We can see someone being badly injured. The school hasn't given a statement about this yet."
The camera then zoomed to the remaining unharmed students standing outside, showing their faces on Tv. The reporter continued "We can see the terrified faces of students who just started their hero course."
The news channels went on, filling gaps in information with their theories , like one reporter said "If the villains managed to break into the UA, that means that weight be looking at a villain group who has resources and quirks that could be a huge threat to society."
Another reporter said "The USJ doesn't have proper security and this incident tells us about the state of UA security."
Meanwhile, Nezu and Midnight were inside the facility. Midnight said "Warp ability is a rare one and it is on the villain's side. I can't imagine what the kids went through. Kazuto is the only one who is severely injured, but from what I heard from the students, he did a great job holding back the main villains, who could match All Might in strength."
Nezu said "We have to improve our defenses and make sure it doesn't happen again. We have a lot of work to do."
The students all started boarding the bus to head back to school. Momo stopped and ran to detective Tsukauchi. She asked him "Can you please tell me where the injured students are admitted?"
The detective gave her the name of the hospital and Momo left after thanking him. The students got back to school and then went home. Many wanted to check on their friends in hospital, but Midnight and Nezu asked them to visit tomorrow saying "Your parents must be worried at home. It is best to go home today and visit them tomorrow."
Students walked to the station while Momo had her car waiting for her. She got in and the driver said "Ms. Yaoyorozu, I am glad to see you safe. Your parents are eagerly waiting for you ever since they saw the news."
Momo wanted to visit Kazuto in the hospital, but her parents were waiting for her. She also needed time since she wasn't ready to face Kazuto.
At the hospital, Recovery Girl was called to look at the injured.
Nezu called the doctor and asked how the patients were doing. The doctor said "Kirishima, Bakugo and Shoto all healed pretty quickly, but it wasn't the case for the rest.
No. 13 injured her back and shoulder, but is getting better. As for Aizawa, he had the bones in his face and arms fractured. He was also treated and only needs to heal.
Coming to Kazuto, his condition isn't good. He has a lot of fractured bones all over his body and was impaled in the thigh with an iron rod. That's isn't even the worst part. He lost a lot of blood and his blood has been contaminated with some other person's blood. We have his blood type, but the foreign RBCs are being attacked by Kazuto's WBC. The foreign RBCs form a clot and are now blocking the smaller arteries. To add to all of this, Recovery Girl says he is too weak now and using her quirk on him will kill him. We started the treatment, but we can't say anything until we are done."
Nezu was in a meeting with the teachers of UA and they all heard the doctor. Nezu said "Thanks doctor. Please take care of them."
Nezu hung up and looked at the teachers in the meeting. There was complete silence in the room and no one spoke. The silence was broken by a knock on the door. A police officer walked inside and said "We found the villain Kazuto and All Might fought. We also investigated Shigaraki, and Kurogiri along with his warp ability. It isn't in the government records nor is there any information on it in the underground network."
Vlad King, homeroom teacher for class 1-B, said "So, we basically have no information on them."
All Might then said "Shigaraki was like a kid, announcing the quirks of this Nomu and got frustrated when things didn't go their way. It was like seeing a kid."
Midnight commented "We have a man-child."
Vlad King added "A man-child with powers."
Snipe said "The villains are currently oppressed and when a person comes with ansimple goal of evil and destruction, it becomes easy for them to gather around that individual."
The meeting went on discussing further improvements to the defenses and the topic of the sports festival.
The next day, police reported the incident to the media, but they didn't say anything about the injured. They just mentioned that few were injured, but didn't even specify if they were students, heroes or villains.
The school was closed temporarily and the class decided to visit Kazuto and the teachers in the hospital. Kirishima, Bakugo and Shoto were discharged yesterday.
They decided to meet near the hospital at 4 pm and go together, but Momo couldn't wait. She got to the hospital at 1 pm with fruits and walked to the reception. She asked for Kazuto's room and the receptionist told her where he was.
When she got to the room, she saw Kazuto, mummified, with openings only for his eyes, nose and mouth. IV bags hanging and wires connected to machines monitoring his vitals. Kazuto was sitting on his bed with a plate in front of him and was stuffing his mouth with porridge. Many bowls and plates were stacked up beside him.
He emptied the bowl and asked the nurse "More".
The nurse looked at Kazuto and said "I am sorry l, but you finished all the food in the hospital. It will take time to make more."
That's when Kazuto noticed Momo standing near the door and said with a smile "Momo, what are you doing standing there? Come inside."
Momo clenched her skirt and shouted "Why are you smiling? You got hurt because of me. You should be shouting at me for what I did. You shouldn't have saved me."
Kazuto said in his head "She really has been beating herself up for what happened. I won't deny that she had something to do with my condition."
Kazuto moved to get up, but the nurse stopped him and said "What are you doing? You are in no condition to get up. 25 doctors had to operate on you for 10 straight hours before your condition stabilized."
Kazuto said "I just ate that much food. Do you really think I am not fine?"
Kazuto then got up and immediately, all the pain receptors in his body activated and were screaming for him to stop. He still slowly limped towards Momo despite his pain and pulled her into a hug. He said "I won't deny that you didn't do mistakes, but it was my choice to protect you and that's what heroes do. So, I would've saved you even if the situation was different."
Momo burst into tears again and Kazuto just held her while rubbing her back. After a while, Momo moved back and wiped her tears. She then said "Thank you Kazuto. I hope you recover quickly." giving him fruits.
Kazuto nodded with a smile and said "Thanks Momo. But this doesn't mean you are off the hook. You and those idiots are getting lectured for what you did."
Momo nodded with a smile. Kazuto then turned to the nurse, who was looking at the scene with years in her eyes, and said "Nurse, there is an injured patient here. Can you help him back to the bed?"
The nurse sighed and the moment was ruined for her. She and Momo helped him back to the bed and Kazuto shouted "Food".
The nurse said "Like I said, we don't have any more food."
Momo said "We can eat this melon and I can order food for you."
Kazuto said "Thank you Momo."
Momo shook her head and said "No need to thank me. Just eat and get better."
Momo then made a call and withing minutes, men carrying huge containers of food arrived. It was easily enough to feed 50 people.
Kazuto started stuffing his mouth like he was starving for weeks. His mouth was inhaling food at alarming pace that the nurse, the men who brought the food, and the free nurses, were all shocked at what they were witnessing.
A nurse commented "How is he even able to eat all that? It shouldn't be possible. He has eaten 10 servings and that's on top of the food he finished from the hospital."
In less than an hour, he cleaned out all of the containers and collapsed onto his bed. Kazuto said "Now I feel better."
The nurse said "I still don't understand how your body works. Let me contact the doctor. If you are strong enough, we can have Recovery Girl heal you back to full health."
Kazuto said "Thank you."
The nurse left and Momo was the only one in the room with Kazuto. For a while, there was complete silence and neither knew what to say.
"Come on Kazuto. Talk. Say something. This is the perfect opportunity to talk to her without anyone around. Wait. What do I say? Should I ask her on a date? No. That would be taking advantage of the situation. Should I ask something about her like her favourite hobby or something." Kazuto was spiralling in his head.
Luckily, the nurse returned with the doctor. The nurse smiled at Momo, but didn't say anything. The doctor looked at the charts and said "Kazuto, you really amaze me. I can't believe you were even able to move, much less eat that much food. I will contact Recovery Girl and if she is able to heal you, we can discharge you in two days."
Momo said with excitement "That's wonderful news. Thanks doctor."
The doctor nodded and left. The nurse looked at Momo and said "I will leave you two alone. Just remember that this is a hospital."
Again, silence filled the room. It wasn't the first time they were alone, but this time it was different. Kazuto was about to spiral again, but this time he was saved by the class. They all filled the room and looked at Kazuto's mummified body.
Mina looked at Momo and said "Momo, you got here before us. Didn't we all agree to come here at 4?"
Momo replied "I was just around the neighborhood and didn't have much to do, so I got here a little early."
Mina smiled and said "Yeah right."
Asui looked at Kazuto and asked "How are you feeling now?"
Kazuto said "The doctors said that if Recovery Girl can heal my wounds, I can be discharged in two days."
Everyone smiled and Sero said "That's great news."
Mineta said "Kazuto, you were amazing back there."
Kazuto said "Thanks Mineta."
Kazuto looked at his class and saw Shoto, Midoriya, Bakugo and Kirishima looked sad. "Unlike Momo, who actually assessed the situation and ran when I asked her to. Bakugo, Kirishima and Shoto didn't run. They needed a wake-up call to reality. As for Midoriya, he is probably thinking this wouldn't have happened if he could use his quirk properly." Kazuto said in his head.
After a while, Recovery Girl arrived and asked everyone to leave. They all wished him to get well soon and left.
Momo got into her car. She was glad to see Kazuto well and had a bright smile on her face. Her face also had a look of determination to get stronger and not repeat the mistakes. The driver noticed it and smiled. 'Ms. Yaoyorozu hasn't been the same since the attack. This is the first time she smiled since. This person Kazuto, looks like a good kid and she values him.' the driver, who was also a butler, thought while driving, happy to see Momo smile.
