It was all warm and tingly earlier, when Hajin picked her up from the wretched warehouse. Inside the car, however, it was quiet and cold again. Even while Hajin kept holding her hand, driving with only one hand, he didn't say anything throughout the journey.
And Sarah...Sarah was too exhausted to start anything.
It was strange when the car pulled up in their apartment. Only around two hours had passed since her abduction. The sky hadn't even darkened yet, and the world kept on moving as if nothing had happened. If they ignored a smear of Denise's blood on Sarah's sweater, it would seem like Sarah only stepped out for a grocery run or something.
Perhaps that was why she only felt the awkwardness once they arrived at their home, and Hajin quietly started to take her blood-stained sweater off. The silence felt too real and disturbing in the confines of their intimate space.
"Umm, what about Chairman Yoo?" Sarah asked, following Hajin to the laundry room.
