Mo Huai fell back, "Quick!" He shouted back to the crowd of Miasma Soldiers below.
"I've been trying! They aren't responding!" William responded back, continuing to pump his mental energy into the token.
Mo Huai tutted, 'The Grand Formation might be down or the controllers being attacked...'. He turned back and dashed to William, "Hold on!"
Mo Huai held out his hand, William caught it and flung onto his back. He held his head, "I'm Leon menta–"
His complaints were cut off as another attack came forth. The enemy wasn't anywhere in his vision but a storm formed above Mo Huai's head.
It instantly begun shooting lightning down, Mo Huai had his thoughts boosted by the influx of mental energy from his reserves, he thought instantly. Putting the pieces together. He realised the Dao likely practiced and begun thinking of a counter.
He held his hand up and used a mist of miasma to capture the lightning, creating a ball of storm. Quickly though, think strands of lightning diffused through.
Mo Huai clicked his tongue again and swung his arm, the Miasma Soldiers that were once protecting William being turned into a mist and absorbed back into Mo Huai's reserves.
"Earth Di!" He shouted, "Natural Phenomena! The weather, volcanoes, earthquakes! That's their Dao!"
As he shouted the answer, he felt something shift, something that should be imperceptible. He paused for a moment, "Something's not ri–" his voice was cut off by a screech.
In the air, the enemy was revealed again. They held their head tightly while screeching. It was quiet, but in a visceral manner, like they lost all control over their laws and became a mere mortal.
Then, they fell. From the sky, they begin to plummet, tears following them down, attempting to fall down but because of their velocity going upwards. A stream of salty rivers accenting their downfall.
William winced, without thinking his heart told him what he needed to do. He let go off Mo Huai's back, and fell for a short time.
In a moment he re entered himself and brought up his aura, it was the last dregs but he pushed himself. The icy cold aura created a platform he kicked off.
Shooting through the sky, he intercepted the falling figure. Then as he reached the ground, he used the last burst of aura squeezed out from his body to turn the misty air into an ice slide, safely reaching the ground.

Zhou Tian continued, "But...we have the advantage still. With your Causality and my own, we might have enough to brute force it."
"They'll probably be coming for us, anything I need to know?" Hou asked in preparation. While he has a good amount of Causality, he had something to protect here which would need Causality; he was spread thin.
"Use Causality and surround yourself with it, like how Laws are utilised you need to use an intent along with it. What I would suggest is the intent that whatever hits you misses at the last moment." Zhou Tian looked away for a moment, "And don't worry about those outside, they're safe."
Without asking why or how, Hou nodded. It didn't matter if he was lying, he would believe him for now...it was best that he believed that those members fighting Yi Sect were safe rather than worry for them.
Zhou Tian chuckled, noting that Hou did not ask for clarification. He gave a curt answer, "I'm taking back my Causality I lent them, Yi Sect I mean. They're good people, they're just on the losing side now...well some of them."
He seemed finished when he swung back, "Actually I do have a selfish request, use a small amount of Causality on your subordinates that they will save my people." Zhou Tian had taken his Causality back and in that moment looked through his subordinates eyes, he saw that once it was taken they would die. But if Hou did what he said...
"I will, thank you." Hou nodded and held his hand out in front of him, "Now we focus on them." Zhou Tian nodded and they braced for impact.
Hou did what Zhou Tian asked, Causality was sent into both Mo Huai and William who were outside but had a connection because they were absorbed into the True World.
The Causality gave cause to something that would not have normally happened. William saw the figure falling, so weak, so pitiful...
The cause was planted, the dominoes had fallen and the effect was made so. He caught them.

William hit his head as he slid down the ice slide, falling unconscious. His body, having been emptied of its aura, became weak and frail. He was, in the end, but a man.
Fluttering his eyes open as his stupor faded, William looked by his side. A young girl with shiny black hair and face red with anger? Frustration? Sadness? Embarrassment?
Whatever it was, she was crying...William put his hand on her head, "It's fine...It's fine."
Around the battlefield, a similar scene occured. Enemies fell, some lived...many did not. Yi Sect had, in an instant, turned from the most powerful sect into a group of pitiful mortals with little power.
And the opposing side, the coalition of all the righteous sects, those who didn't want this world to be destroyed...they cut through the enemies, only slowly realising.
It was over. The war of the elites had ended just as it begun.
They had won, they thought. And it was true...in some way they had won, but the real battle had merely changed targets.
From a large scale war, to a war of elites, to a battle. A battle between 3 men and 5 of *them*.

A blade sliced at Hou's side, his Causality flickered and the blade that had formed shifted just a slight bit; missing his body by the width of a hair. The blade, covered in Causality, moved in response.
It's edge flicked open, it had a purpose 'To Hit Hou's, and it would do anything to have the effect have a cause. The edge shifted, many tiny blades shooting out of its side.
Hou 'burned' more Causality, the blade moved further and further away, each time another change made it come closer though.
"You need to control it! Don't just use that singular cause not to hit, give it a reason. The more specific and reasonable, the less Causality used!" Zhou Tian shouted as he let a blade sliced through his body but–
"My body is reconstructed from your Causality, it cannot be harmed from it's creator." he 'spoke' to it, the blade that tried to harm him passed effortlessly.
