Chapter 292 - chapter 91

Hou mentally nodded, "That's the likely reason, I don't see how else they would bypass censorship and learn about the outer world "

Hamar acknowledged Hou then focused back to his Sect Leader's talk. He listened carefully and as each important figure left he waited... Waited until only he and the Sect Leader were left alone.

Hamar bowed, making sure to go as deep as he was forced to do earlier and spoke, "I have...issues with doing much right now. I am working to help, just I cannot do anything yet...not yet."

Sect Leader waved his hand, "It doesn't matter, I'm not forcing you. I can understand that you and your master, and Qi Lan, has other plans. But..."

He lifted Hamar with his palm, looking him into the eyes, "I trust your master, I trust Qi Lan, and in turn I trust you. As long as your plan isn't detrimental to us, then I'm sure it will be fine."

He added, "And anyways, you gave us this info. Without the info on Yi Sect we would've been caught off guard and the world would never be the same. I'll take your intelligence and your master's impeccable mass warfare as payment for your lethargy."

Hamar nodded and simultaneously the Sect Leader created a portal for Hamar to step through. He stepped through and bowed lightly once more. As he looked back to his Sect Leader, the portal shut and Hamar turned around, looking outwards.

He found himself atop a mountain where he could easily see the two sides, the world versus Yi Sect. He walked over to the cliff edge and sat down, hanging his legs over the edge.

Hamar watched as the first fighting began, first the weak masses. Hamar watched from above, like many elites on either side, like humans to ants.

However unlike the other elites, Hamar did not think of their lives as mere numbers; he had a plan. He could not act himself, but that did not mean he didn't have ways to help.

He would help those small forces and through helping them he would, of course, consume causality...but at the same time, he would create causality.

He had to strike a balance. A small adjustment could cause big ripples and send causality his way...but small adjustments may not be enough, if the adjustment is needed in real time then the causality would increase exponentially.

He had to balance his help and slowly gather causality while helping his side fight Yi Sect; potentially harming the causality of the other side.

He took a breath in and, like moving a muscle, he connected his 'self' to William and Mo Huai through their shared connection of the Inner True World.

He utilised his connection and with a single stroke, used their vision as his own. He entangled their senses, allowing Hamar to see the entire battlefield at once.

This was only possible due to his Master's perfect ability in use with this technique. Mo Huai used Miasma Soldiers which could number from ten-thousand upwards.

Hamar watched the entire battlefield, and he unleashed his aura. The colourless aura emenated from his physical body and then exploded outwards, covering the entire battlefield lightly.

Each length of aura connected with another nearby, forming a network which allowed for Hamar to not only see the battles but interact with them if nessacary.

If he needed to to help, the network of aura would allow him to instantly transmit laws, aura, causality or whatever help he needed to do instantly. In addition to physical help he could communicate with anybody within the network and allow for help to find it's way more easily around.

There was the Great Formation, controlled by Jin and Yan, but it was limited in uses and it's power was reserved for the higher status members of the Sect's fighting.

While it wouldn't ignore the small scale combat, it wouldn't prioritise them and left many blind spots for Hamar to fill.

"Ren Zu...live on." His dying partner said with their last breaths, the light fading quickly from their eyes.

Ren Zu held their body tightly in his arms, he was a 9th level hardening soldier; barely qualifiable for the battle. He only joined to help his lover, who had just perished, an 11th level hardening practitioner shot dead with a single arrow.

He sobbed and bit his lips until they bled, still clutching onto his...what would have been his wife. With a fire in his eyes, he put his hand into his lover's pocket and pulled out a purple pill.

"A...a..." He tried to speak but even that was too hard, instead anger filled him. He was weak, far too weak for such a battlefield. He had rejected this pill months prior...if he had taken it, would she have lived?

With his lover's blood still warm covering his hands he took the pill and attacked it within his body, sending it's laws spiralling into his Spirit Stone Soul.

Instantly, the walls of his Spirit Stone Soul shattered but quickly reformed stronger and larger than before. But that was not enough, he was 10th hardening but he needed more...

He looked at his hand, covered in his lover's blood and with tears blurring his vision, pierced his own heart. The edge covered in sword laws he punctured his heart and he fell dead.

Badump.

Badump.

Badump.

His body started convulsing erratically, his Spirit Stone Soul which should've broken or turned into a Spirit Stone did neither of those things...instead he roared as his sword laws, of which he cultivated, transformed into beastial eagle laws.

This was a transformation technique he had learnt early in his cultivation journey, but he knew of it's consequences. Once the transformation was complete, it was permanent.

He once had a purpose to live, but now Ren Zu had no reason to continue other than strength for revenge. His reason abandoned itself and in his beastial form, he screeched loud.

13th level Hardening!

He had become much stronger, the pull of his Spirit Stone Soul had become much stronger and he could easily absorb laws and control his own at much greater efficacy.

Ren Zu's wings flapped as he jumped into flight. At the same time, in the subtle grid of light invisible to those fighting Hamar looked at his first target.

"Trading rationality for strength...admirable but is not rationality needed to control that strength?"
