Chapter 275 - chapter 75

Araxis snorted and pointed around with his fingers causing a cube of sugar to fly around the room and plop itself into Edmunds cup.

A spoon shot out another drawer and made a clinking sound while it stirred in the sugar as it dissolved.

"Well I'll explain that Yao Tian is the one that figured out the laws beneath the spirits, and he's the one I struck a deal with."

"Oh I recall you talking about that...what was the deal again? You said you wanted him to create something and you would guarantee to protect the miniature world?"

Araxis took another sip of his tea, "That's the one. I'll tell you that the deal involved me telling him how to make something called the Nascent Soul which when combined with a strong enough aura can form a true world in the Sea of Worlds."

"A true one!" Edmund slammed his hands onto the table in front of him and stood up, "That means, that means it would gain causality, wouldn't it?"

Araxis smirked, "Exactly, that should be able to solve many of my problems...just one issue, it couldn't be him. Yao couldn't use aura or form the Nascent Soul, though I did promise that he would be able to choose the inheritor for the Nascent Soul."

"So generous...that's not like the usual you..." Edmund scoffed.

"I'm not always so stingy, anyway, after that he died and split himself into many different children. And he gave one of them the task to form the Nascent Soul and if he could not, to pass it on."

"Wait wait wait, we're getting distracted. No, not we...Me! You're distracting me, what about the Demonic Rifts?"

Araxis waved his hand, "Be patient I'm getting there, that inheritor formed the Nascent Soul and naturally found someone with sufficient aura and I used some of our causality to help them form the inner true world."

"You..." Edmund digged his fingers into the wooden table, "Used our causality...." He trembled as he held back his anger.

He let go of the table and pointed to Araxis, "Y-you!" He shot out a strong of mana which spun in the air and turned itself into a fiery bolt.

Araxis held out his hand and caught the speeding bolt with two fingers, "Not fast enou-"

Edmund interrupted, "It's not about speed! You used this world's, our world's, causality! Is that why the demonic rifts formed?!

Araxis flicked the bolt of fire into the sky and looked to Edmund, "Don't be angry, think of it as an investment. I already fixed the rifts to not do too much damage anyway..."

Edmund walked over and poked Araxis in the chest, "It doesn't matter, that was extremely dangerous! Is it really that important?!"

He stared at Araxis angrily but Araxis just pulled his finger off of him and spoke gently, "It's an investment, think! It's a TRUE world, it generated causality. Given some time, we can even expand the world by taking some of that causality. I'll fix the demonic rifts but for now they can be seen as a resource point."

Rubbing the bridge of his nose, Edmund sighed, "Still..."

Araxis leant forward again, "And, and, also there's another reason I used so much causality for this."

"What is it?"

"THEY were actually trying to escape the miniature world. If that happened they would be able to contact the others for support, then we'd be in trouble."

Edmund scowled, "that IS an issue..."

"Buuut I should be able to get rid of them for good, by putting them into that true world and restricting them with some causality."

Edmund stared at Araxis for a few moments before walking back and sitting down. He drunk the rest of his cup of tea and placed it down, "And the host of the inner true world will cooperate? They don't want to use their inner world for their own gains?"

Araxis pondered a minute and answered, "I...don't think so. Once he gets rid of them, he should have accomplished his main goal and...I think he would understand the seriousness if I explained it."

"But you can't explain it...the causality for that would be expensive, no?"

"True but, like I said, I don't think he'll be much of a problem. And if he is, I have ways to communicate with him, get the point across y'know."

Edmund threw himself back, "I'll trust you in this...so how should we deal with these demonic rifts?"

Araxis chuckled, "let me start..."

Hamar stumbled to his feet and observed his hands, "really back..." He looked around, "Not more white void, ahh."

Elder Future Stillness appeared beside him, "You're...late." he said in a questioning tone yet not a question to Hamar, more to himself.

"Is that bad?"

"It's...I don't know what it is. According to what I knew...you should've been in there for a day but...it's been a while longer than that."

Hamar scratched his head, "How much longer? Does that mean I spent much much longer than 100 years in the time chamber?"

"A month..." Elder Future Stillness turned to the side and looked at his hand, "My causality couldn't have stood that..."

Hamar heard him and grabbed onto his arm, "What did you just say?" He looked into his eyes, "Causality! Explain!"

Elder Future Stillness took a few steps back, "You know about causality? W-What do you want to know?"

Hamar let go of his arm and put his hands together, bowing, "Please! Tell me everything!" He looked down at the floor but really he was looking somewhere deeper into his inner true world where a wisp of causality flew around erratically.

Elder Future Stillness thought for a few moments, "I'll tell you but I'll need to be brief. The fight with Yi Sect will start not too far in the future...you need to be ready and out of here."

Hamar nodded, "Thank you for your consideration." And stopped his bowing, standing up straight. He smiled but deep down became nervous at the thought of how little time he had. He needed to figure out how to use his new found powers to defeat Yi Sect...
