Chapter 240 - chapter 40

With Hamar's bones now transformed, he also noticed a difference in his control of mana and transmuting into aura.

He breathed in to absorb mana and inside his body used his technique to transform it into aura, some mana being used to nourish the golden royal energy. In this conversion, he would lose a significant portion of energy he absorbed.

Now, however, he could tell that the conversion rate would grow and more aura would be made with the same amount of mana.

"Interesting...This shouldn't be any intended effect, Yi Sect has never been seen using techniques from the Outer Word such as aura...unless they somehow connected to the Outer World."

He thought about the technique he used and Yi Sect and what they know, and in doing so he had a realisation.

Hamar recalled that Yi Sect knew that this world was a creation of the Outer World so it would only be logical to assume they knew of mana.

And on that train of logic, Hamar formed a hypothesis on why his Reversal Crystal bones helped his mana absorption.

"Perhaps these Reversal Crystals don't use the worlds laws made from the worlds refined mana...perhaps it's made from Yi Sect. That would mean my body wouldn't be made by as much of the world's mana, laws, and I would be able to convert more wild mana without conflicts? But that would mean Yi Sect is much further in their research than I thought..."

Hamar thought about the reason he was initially fighting Yi Sect, to find Hou. He thought about this and came up with another conclusion, "Hou had techniques from the outside world. He was the one who taught me my aura technique. He's sealed due to his own magic, and magic uses mana to function. Is it possible...that Yi Sect is studying Hou to utilise mana from Hou? If they finish that research..."

Above ground, Yan opened her eyes after a session of cultivation. She had recovered some laws lost after gaining a good amount of mental energy.

She looked at the fleshy expanse in front of her and stood up, walking over gently. Then she let out a portion of mental energy and used it to expand her consciousness' intuition range.

Using this method, she observed Hamar, using that connection to create a formation around his ear. She recalled her mental energy and formed a complimentary formation around her own ear.

"Are you fine, do you need help getting out?"

And on the other side, Hamar answered without surprise, "No need, just hold out my robe."

"Hold out your rob-" just before she could finish her question, the connection was destroyed again. She smiled and squeezed her fist, "You..."

Beside her, the flesh burst with black blood and Hamar jumped out of the mess with a cocky smirk. Yan used a layer of fire laws to burn of the blood before it touched her and she finished her sentence.

"YOU DON'T NEED TO BREAK THE CONNECTION!" She breathed out roughly and used a line of Qi to fling Hamar his clothes.

Hamar caught the clothes mid-air and spun to put them on, landing beside Yan. He straightened himself up and tapped her on the shoulder, "Sorry, next time I'll let you do what you need to stop it"

Yan closed her eyes and sighed, "Thank you, let's just say our goodbyes and leave. There should be some Qi masters left, I'll make sure they help the mortals and see whether any of them know anything."

A few days later, at the edge of the town. Half of the town had been destroyed with the underground collapsing and Zhangfu's fight most infrastructure was decimated.

Over the last few days, Hamar and Yan had helped to bring back a semblance of society. Setting up rules and restricting the Qi masters to reduce corruption. They helped build basic houses and basic defence.

Hamar and Yan sat on the top of a lizard creature, Uncle Wang's Lassy. He had given it to them and decided to stay in town for a while, maybe forever.

"Take care of Lassy for me! And stay safe yourself, if you ever need a place to stay we're here!" Uncle Wang shouted out from the entrance to town.

Hamar looked back, he nodded and turned around. With a light whip on the reigns Lassy stood up. He suppressed his tears and shouted out, "Later!"

He lightly tapped Lassy with his foot and she started to move, quickly into a gallop. He rode off into the setting sun as Uncle Wang watched on from afar.

"This won't be the only settlement, will it?" Hamar looked into he might sky at the moon. He was still riding Lassy and behind him Yan sat quietly.

She mumbled sleepily, "Definitely not...If I were to guess this whole place will have To Sect's hands messing around. Experiments and harvesting ingredients, no doubt we'll find more..."

Hamar continued to look up, adding to himself, 'Perhaps they chose this place due to the Reversal Crystals. They already seem to have a strong property that would oppose the world...'

Then Hamar pulled the reigns lightly, "Lassy!" He patted her rough skin, "Stop here girl..."

The lizard creature slowed and then bent down it's neck, allowing Hamar and Yan to step off easily.

"Why are we stopping, she doesn't need to rest we can use laws to keep her in top condition?" Yan stepped off with a bit of confusion.

Hamar shook his head, "That's not the reason, it's hard to write a letter with a bumpy ride," he pulled out a brush and paper from a pocket in his robe.

Looking at the paper, he smiled, "Luckily, it didn't get too much blood on it haha" sitting down onto a rock, he started writing a letter.

"To Master, I have some things to report. Some things about the sect, some things about the world, some things about Yi Sect and perhaps some things to do with Hou..."

Then once done, he folded the letter and using a special wax seal, once he let go of the page, it turned to a wisp of smoke which floated off into the wind.
