Chapter 228 - chapter 28

Hamar finished transferring the crystal laws into the sword and swung it out, "Can you sense anyone?"

Yan closed her eyes and threw out a few hand sigils, "North, not too far away. There's a mortal village."

Hamar raised his eyebrows, "If you don't mind can I ask, What's your main path? What laws and techniques do you cultivate?"

Yan cracked her neck but didn't answer the question, instead she jumped into the air and two pairs and white wings shot out, "Let's go"

The two flew side by side, with Yan determining the direction. Hamar flew through the air with seemingly no technique while Yan flapped her wings with grace. They flew at a steady speed, not slow but not entirely fast either. "Anything."

"Hmm? Anything, what?" Hamar turned his head in confusion.

"What I cultivate, you asked. I do anything. I just...I don't have any particular lives, I go for anything that can help me."

"I heard you like swords, and I saw your passion why not cultivate sword path and sword laws then?"

"I do just...not only them. I feel that it's just too restricting if I be fanatic like some people, everything I feel needs a sort of balance."

"I see...I guess, I try to do the same. I just. There's so much to think about. I sometimes forget to use all that I have..."

Yan smiled but didn't continue the short conversation, instead she sped up. Hamar was left behind and he chuckled before speeding up himself.

Boom!

The two landed a way away from the mortal village, far enough away no mortal should be able to have seen them.

"We'll just blend into the mortal village and rest for a few days. I'm still low on energy and need to recover, while I do we can maybe ask about for information?"

Yan nodded, "Good idea, wait here a moment then before we proceed. Unlike your power, I have certain fluctuations that any qi master mortal could detect."

"Ah, yes. I didn't think about that, so I assume you have a way to hide that? What is it?"

"I won't go into detail but this method I use is based on the principle that qi is mental energy of a sort and can be interrupted with cognition laws, emotion laws, information laws and the sort."

"Hmm, as in it uses those laws as a sort of shield which makes qi become hidden?"

"Yeah, sort of. But that's just basic overview. It also uses flame laws for its ability to draw power from other laws, water to balance the flames, strength laws for a base, darkness, shadow, hidden information, secrets laws etc cetera for the idea of hiding."

"So complex..."

"This is how most techniques go, you just aren't focused on them so you might see the basics idea. You might even create certain techniques yourself but against experts, they are too simple and can be countered."

"The more complex the harder it is to counter?"

"Yeah exactly, thinks about it. If your technique only uses fire, how would you defeat it? By extinguishing with water, right?"

"Yeah, that does sound simple..."

"But if you add something more to that fire...let's say, I don't know, oil. Fires started by oil won't be extinguished by water so that simple counter is blocked. The more laws, the harder and slower the technique is...but conversely it is the same with the counter."

"I see. Yeah that makes sense, do you need protecting while you do this technique then? If it's complex you might be distracted, no?"

"No need, rest as much as you need. There shouldn't be too much danger here and I'll leave a will to control a protection formation."

"Ah, yes. I did forget you are a disciple of Qi Lan, of course you would be good at formations."

"She is the greatest formations master of the Sect after all, anyway go rest for now. I'll set it up."

Hamar nodded and took a seat, sitting cross-legged on the rocky floor. He placed his sword into the ground and controlled the crystal laws to grow by absorbing the ground. This was because he was taking the natural characteristics on the crystal he had taken the laws from. Crystals grow from the ground and his sword had literally become one of these crystals.

Then he closed his eyes and begun breathing deeply, circulating his aura. Each breath absorbed mana and circulated it with the aura, using the technique he learnt and transforming it into colourless aura. At the same time, a small golden pin drop formed in the centre of Hamar's forehead. This was the creation of Hamar's new golden core of royal energy. Before, it was created where he stored his aura, inside the stomach.

Now, however, it had formed where it should naturally go according to the scripture. Before, Hamar was working with little knowledge but after inheriting Hou's memories that changed. He had seen the book that Hou had learnt the technique from, the Royal Golden Energy Technique. The basis was strong and fast aura creation.

But it's uniqueness was the creation of royal authority, the golden energy, which was an ultimate form of energy. It could supress all other energies and a large amount would be created when it is first unlocked.

Sadly, Hamar had used it all frivolously. Now he had to slowly accumulate the royal authority from the start, very slowly. At the same time as he was recalling the royal authority, Hamar looked at another part of his memories.

"Body Tempering"

Hamar knew about body reformation, he should be an old man but looked much younger than that. This was because of his body reforming, but body Tempering was new.

"It appears to be a type of training. However, instead of simple exercise, one must circulate aura while slowly attacking and replacing the body with your own aura."

"At first, the laws will not stay. Do not attempt full replacing, at risk of death. Instead slowly replace and as you do, you will comprehend the body."

"The higher the comprehension, the more one will be able to create permanent laws. The body will become entirely yours when body Tempering is finished. At that point, a new body reformation is needed."

Phewww...

Hamar stretched and looked at his hand, it had a gash over the palm, "I guess this is why they say start slowly...Right now, it just seems I hurt myself for no reason..."

He squeezed and mumbled, "It'll be worth it, stick until I comprehend more."
