Chapter 226 - chapter 26

"A breakthrough, it must be Hamar! Quick, follow me!"

Mo Huai turned around and snapped his fingers, and as he jumped forward purple-ish miasma swept over him and he disappeared.

Similarly the miasma covered the two woman and caused them to disappear. As the miasma reappeared, the trio stood high into the sky above a bustling city.

A city whose residents cried out in painful emotions, a city whose outskirts bathed in rainbow lights. "I can't sense what it is, but I sure can sense it's there...that'll be my disciple. I told you,"

Qi Lan finished the sentence, "Aura..."

The trio floated down in quiet peace as they approached Hamar's but where he stood outside and held a sword in his hands.

"Hamar, my boy!"

Hamar turned his head and for a moment his eyes flickered. With pain he shut his eyes and squeezed tighter onto his sword, muttering under his breath, "so quick..."

Hamar had formed his Sword Soul but that was only the one gain from his breakthrough. His aura had become more refined and much more versatile.

It was white but could easily be turned into other colours as it's form was altered by his emotions and mimicked, no, became laws.

This was important to note as when Hamar looked at his Master, he could sense an issue. Since he now had a higher grasp on laws, he could detect a subtle change that occurred.

He could sense the World Censorship had occurred, his master had likely forgotten the revelation Hamar had enabled him to understand.

"Master..." He swung his sword down and temporarily sheathed it, the rainbow aura coming out of the ground dissipating.

"You had a breakthrough again? You seem strong...but how strong, how about we test? Yan, how about you test him now?"

Hamar looked behind to see the 'Yan' Mo Huai was referring to. As the woman stepped out she poured and held a thin sword in her delicate hands.

She pointed the sword to Hamar, "I've been told to protect you! Prove yourself worthy then!"

Hamar chuckled and placed his hand upon the sword pointing towards him and pushed it down gently, "Let us have a spar then..."

He looked at the woman and gave himself a handicap to test his new strength, "How about we both show off one sword movement on the eachother. Attack, defend. Attack, defend. I'm sure with such an exchange we should both understand eachother better, no?"

Yan dropped her sword and stepped forward, "okay, how about I start, you defend"

Hamar nodded and gestured for his master and the other elder to step back. Then once they floated in the sky to spectate, Hamar readied.

He raised his new Sword Soul imbued with his own earth laws and steadied himself. He circulated his colourless aura through his body, grounding himself.

"You may start."

Yan nodded and raised her sword in one hand, as she did it was imbued with many laws. Then her feet started to shake as she continued imbuing different laws with different impressions.

Her face became angry, sad, confused, all different emotions she forced to create the exact effect she needed to start her technique.

Once it was down, she burst forward. Even with aura enhancing Hamar's vision, he could not see where she went.

He turned his head and looked around but could not sense her at all, he tried sending out aura but still she could not be detected.

Then he felt pressure from his sword deepen and he felt it lowering by itself. There was no real force but for whatever reason he just felt the need to lower his blade.

He suppressed the thoughts but still his grip weakened, and when it was at its weakest Yan reappeared.

She appeared in the air , with her sword clashing directly with Hamar's. His foot dug into the ground and he unleashed more aura, stopping himself from breaking defence.

Yan smirked and twisted her body mid-air, causing her sword to slide across Hamar's blade and launch for Hamar's neck.

Seeing that, he raised this other hand and caught Man's blade with his fingers. Just before that, he had used all of his royal golden aura in his fingers.

This was his strategy to maintain his aura reserves, to use the golden energy to supress Yan's technique and use his strong body to catch the blade itself.

Yan smirked and then her sword dropped, and her body vanished. Behind Hamar, Yan stood with her sword directly against Hamar's throat, "I win. You're turn hehe"

Hamar had a bead of cold sweat drip down his forehead as he carefully stepped away from the sword, "Touché"

"But...don't think I was out of options" Hamar flicked the rest of the golden energy he had remaining into a small blast to Yan.

It collided with her sword and sent a shockwave of slight depression to her laws. Yan squinted and raised her eyebrows, "Perhaps I did underestimate you...we'll go on with your sword movement"

"Well actually, I just broke through and gained some inspirations and ability t do something, so let me just do a simple attack."

Before Yan could do anything, Hamar simply swung his sword and sent out a wave of aura, in which he infused certain emotions laws.

As Yan tried to activate a technique but in the moment her techniques clashed with Hamar's aura blade they shriveled and became corrupted.

Defence became offense, light became dark, fire became water. All became opposite, it was now out of balance as the technique was designed with specific laws in place and yet with a single slash, Hamar's aura had a two part effect on.

The first part was the emotions which would disrupt the attack's speed and the second part was using aura to assimilate the laws.

Theoretically, he could control those laws but in practice Yan's higher cultivation would disrupt him. Instead, Hamar merely changed the laws.

It would be easily defendable but only if they knew what was going to happen, unprepared Yan was taken aback and pushed backwards, sliding across the ground to dissipate the energy from the sword slash.
