The cocoon cracked just as soon as the Hou's final form was created. The loud bang resonated out of the web and then a wave of energy blasted away everything.
Even using techniques, Tier 1 could barely stand. Lan Qiang stabbed into the ground but that wasn't enough, he was still being pushed back by the blast of energy.
Hamar saw this and communicated with the magic crystal artifacts which were still working, "Hang back, just move back. At this point we can't help Hu Li, we just need to live!"
Lan Qiang realised he was mostly talking to him and he nodded, instead of completely letting go he simply pulled his spear up lightly.
If he let go he would be completely at the behest of the energy blast, by stabbing only lightly into the floor he was pushed back in a controlled manner.
Jin transformed into her blood dragon and used the energy blast to move even faster through the air. They all rejoined back up a huge distance away from the fight between whatever was in the cocoon and Hou.
They met up and started discussing, "While Hu Li is going against the monster, we should do out job. Find out where the barrier is and try to get past it." Jin looked seriously at Lan Qiang and Hei Feng (Hamar)
Lan Qiang shook his head, "you guys should do that but me...I want to look for Tianmo. If we were all trapped here, logically he should too, and if we find him he might be able to tell Hu Li something, since he is broadly another earth cultivator"
Jin put her hand on Lan Qiang's shoulders, "I'll let you do this but only because at this point every second matters. I don't have hope though...if Tianmo was in the mansion....well"
She turned back to look where the mansion once stood. Now just a massive cocoon letting out a scream and a sky piercing galactic humanoid figure, pulsating a glow.
"The mansion is gone, I have little hope."
Lan Qiang nodded gently, "I know the chance it low but I don't want to give up on him. You have your own job, I have my own. And I wish we both do what we need to."
At the same time this conversation was happening, on the main battlefield the cocoon and Hou were seemingly standing still.
The cocoon was awakening, the energy blasting out was merely the waste products from it's metamorphosis.
Hou, however, was still fully merging. His mana and laws were slightly clashing but the Celestial Ink allowed the two to cooperate.
His energies were flashing and pulsating steadily as each pulse woke his consciousness more. This was because as he came together his consciousness and Yue's consciousness came together.
Not as one but not as two either, it was a state of a special merging. Akin to Hou and Hamar's connection but stronger and more visceral.
He could not think properly but after each pulse his consciousness started to work, thoughts started to grow and dissipate.
Then finally the 'thing' inside the cocoon awakened. The thick web surrounding it fell and it's form was revealed to Hou but also all bystanders.
It was a mountain sized man with horns and a tail. It was a dragon man but that's not all, it had illusory wings made from pure laws.
It woke up and opened it's eyes. The eyes were like emerald gems and they shimmered as it looked towards Hou's celestial body.
As her eyes looked, his body started to stiffen, wherever she looked turned to stone. Then the stone cracked and shattered turning into gravel. Then even more it broke down into sounds which fell down to the ground.
Before Hou woke up fully, just by its mere gaze his body was being destroyed in its essence. His torso had a massive gap within it from where the galactic stardust turned into stone and began turning smaller and smaller.
Then just as it flapped it's wings and flew into he air, Hou woke up.
"I'm...no, we're awake. I'm not me, but I'm not Yue either. I'm a mixture of both of us in one but also two."
"We are two but one, Hou focus! Look at our torso, a massive gap has formed!"
Hou focused din and felt the injury, "It is so."
"I will take care of cultivation and the body, you will take care of laws and magic."
Hou nodded mentally and begun techniques. He had already split his consciousness, he was now a thousand smaller versions of himself, each which had their own uses.
He used them to activate magic and laws at the same time. He saw the beast and it's earth attributes.
He used magic and Flowing Divine Script in order to counter the eye attack. He would use it to change the gaze inwards.
Using magic he grafted his own vision onto his body, using laws as the conduit to project an illusion onto his body.
A huge magic circle formed in front of him. The huge blue circle with complicated patterns created many offsprings, smaller circles which helped the main circle.
As the magic was forming the monster flew back, being careful of any counterattack. Still though it remained using its ocular attack.
Hou laughed and the vibration from his laugh caused the monster's rocky body to shake and the ground the crack even further.
He pushed his hand out and the magic activated, he sent out fog laws from his body and the magic was transplanted into the laws.
It reflected the monsters own body onto Hou's body through the fog laws. Then as this projection had the monster's essence (since it was Hou's real vision, transplanted via magic), the monster's attack was sent back.
The monster's ability was to turn whatever it looked at to turn into stone, then gravel, then sand. But Hou was quick and grafted his vision onto his own body, so when the monster looked at him, it looked at his own vision of the monster itself.
The monster started to turn it's rocky body into gravel and sand, it was accelerated by the fact that it's body was already on the first stage of transformation.
It closed its eyes but then it's vision was limited and Hou took advantage of this. He moved forward and pulled all of his strength laws into his fist.
The galactic multi-coloured fist turned solid white. This was strengthened by Yue using the law amplification of the Celestial Law Amplifying Physique and concentrating it purely on his fist.
Hou used half of his split consciousness' to use magic and take power from the earth and pull it through his body and into his fist.
This was the most basic of techniques pushed to the maximum. He had found out through years of experimenting that when the consciousness is split, intention is weakened.
This intention weakening causes complex techniques to be much harder to pull off. That's why from the start Hou decided he would focus on magic (which only used thoughts not intention) and pure brute law strength.
