After March 7th finished speaking, Yun Fan gently closed his eyes, then shook his head and spoke with utmost seriousness.
"Because they touched my reverse scale."
"A dragon has a reverse scale—touch it, and you die." As he said this, a cold glint flickered in Yun Fan's eyes, casting an arrogant gaze over the fallen vagrants.
"Reverse scale…" The words lingered in March 7th's ears, and her cheeks flushed slightly. She wasn't some emotionally dense fool—she could hear the underlying meaning in Yun Fan's words. Was this another form of confession? Ugh, Yun Fan is so domineering…
While March 7th was lost in her thoughts, Dan Heng silently stepped forward to examine the state of the vagrants' corpses.
Based on years of experience and tapping into a portion of the Vidyadhara's power, Dan Heng arrived at a shocking conclusion—all of these vagrants had died of natural causes. Back at Herta Space Station, Yun Fan hadn't engaged in combat, so this was Dan Heng's first direct encounter with the sheer lethality of the Path of Causality in battle.
The ability to casually bestow death without leaving any traceable evidence—if such a method were to be widely used for assassinations, it would become a nightmare for the entire galaxy, if not the universe.
Fortunately, as of now, those who have set foot on the Path of Causality could still be counted on one hand. Presumably, the Aeon of Causality Himself had considered this and strictly limited the number of those who could walk this path.
However, what Dan Heng didn't realize was that this was only one of the reasons.
Yun Fan's restriction on the widespread dissemination of the Path of Causality in the universe was partly due to Dan Heng's assumption, but the greater reason was that this path differed from ordinary ones—it involved far more complexities than people could imagine.
Thus, to tread upon this path, one needed a certain degree of fortune to bear the Authority of Causality. Otherwise, if one forcibly stepped onto this path, they would suffer the backlash of countless karmic retributions, leading to a gruesome end.
"Alright, let's keep moving. We should try to find a place to rest before nightfall," Yun Fan said, ruffling March 7th's hair before adopting a stern tone.
"But… shouldn't we deal with these?" March 7th pointed awkwardly at the corpses littering the ground. Even if these people were already dead—and killed by Yun Fan—the dead deserved respect. Shouldn't they at least dig a grave for them?
"Don't worry about it. Someone will clean up after us." Yun Fan's lips curled into a faint smile as his gaze briefly flickered toward a shadowy corner. The gesture lasted only an instant, and among those present, only Dan Heng seemed to notice. But since Yun Fan didn't elaborate, Dan Heng saw no reason to bring it up.
In the end, Yun Fan led the Trailblazers forward, leaving the corpses behind without another thought.
However, shortly after they departed—
From the dark corner Yun Fan had glanced at earlier, a purple-haired girl slowly emerged, a scythe resting on her shoulder.
"Phew, they're finally gone. Those Upper Zone guys are real monsters…" The girl wiped the cold sweat from her forehead. For a moment there, she had genuinely thought she was going to die.
Damn it! I was in my 'Phantom Form'—how did that guy at the front spot me? And the way he dealt with those vagrants… That was downright terrifying!
Looking at the sea of corpses, the girl massaged her temples in frustration. "Sigh, I'd better contact Natasha first. This is way beyond my pay grade."

Meanwhile… Belobog's Upper Zone…
"Miss Topaz, this is Belobog—the last bastion of humanity. Welcome."
"So this is Belobog? Hmm, it's quite a nice place." Topaz blinked her blue eyes, surveying the snow-covered city. Overall, it didn't strike her as particularly impressive. As a high-ranking executive of the Interastral Peace Corporation, Topaz had seen more of the world than the entire population of Jarilo-VI combined.
Thus, her standards had risen to an almost unattainable height.
"Miss Topaz, I've already informed the Supreme Guardian of your visit in advance. However, I must apologize—Her Excellency has been rather busy lately and may not be able to receive you immediately. I hope you understand." Gepard Landau bowed slightly, expressing his regret.
"No worries, I completely understand." Topaz crossed her arms and smiled.
"In that case, Numby and I will take some time to tour Belobog first. Once my colleagues return from the Lower Zone, I'll pay a formal visit to the Supreme Guardian. How does that sound?"
"Of course. Would you like me to assign two Silvermane Guards to escort you?"
"No need, no need. I'm used to going solo—having people around would just make me uncomfortable. I appreciate the offer, Captain Landau." Topaz politely declined. The whole "I'm used to being alone" bit was, of course, a lie. She simply didn't want two pairs of eyes following her. If they'd been two pretty girls, she might've considered it, but two grown men? Hard pass.
Besides, her so-called "tour" was more about assessing Belobog's value. As a qualified asset evaluator, she needed to gather as much useful information as possible to form an objective assessment.

Elsewhere…
"Topaz? An employee of the Interastral Peace Corporation?" Cocolia frowned slightly upon receiving Gepard's message. Yesterday, during her private meeting with Yun Fan, he had explained everything to her—including the fact that they were not actually corporate employees.
This didn't bother Cocolia much. In her eyes, this was only natural—how could an existence equal to Qlipoth possibly lower Himself to seek employment under an organization that worshipped the Amber Lord?
But…
"Then this Topaz must be the real deal, huh?"
