Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: fateful night.

....

Alexander and Sophia were identical twins, sharing the same striking silver hair color. Sophia was breathtakingly beautiful, but Alexander had a more captivating presence, despite being a man. The only difference between them was that Sophia was kind and helpful, while Alexander was intelligent and serious, preferring to keep to himself.

They the same silver hair, although Sophia's was curly and Alexander's was straight long hair. Their eyes were also identical, shining with the same piercing silver hue.

The twins didn't always see eye-to-eye, but on one day, they received news that would change everything: Sophia was to marry the 3rd prince' Henry.

Sophia was overjoyed, having secretly admired Henry for some time.

However, Sophia harbored a secret: she was ill, and her condition was worsening. She had been hiding her suffering from her family, fearing their concern and worry.

One fateful night, Sophia's body began to stiffen, and she didn't call for help, instead locking herself in her room. She lay in bed, her body growing colder and stiffer.

The next morning, Alexander knocked on Sophia's door to wake her, as they were supposed to depart for the royal palace. But there was no answer. Alexander grew impatient and decided to open the door, finding it unlocked.

As he approached Sophia's bed to rouse her, he felt her cold, stiff body. Alexander's eyes widened in horror as he realized something was terribly wrong. He gently shook Sophia, calling out her name, but she didn't respond.

Alexander's face paled as he realized his twin sister was dead. He stumbled backward, his eyes fixed on Sophia's lifeless body. He screamed, calling out for help, and the palace servants rushed to his side.

The scene was set for a dramatic turn of events, as Alexander's world was about to be turned upside down.

Everyone wept at Sophia's passing. Alexander was heartbroken, despite their frequent disagreements. Their mother cried uncontrollably, while their father, the duke, fainted from the shock. The family's distress was compounded by the looming threat of the king's wrath.

"If the king learns that the wedding cannot proceed, he will send Alexander 's father to war," Lucy, the sister of Alexander's mother, Rose, whispered urgently.

Rose's eyes widened in alarm. "What are you thinking, Lucy?" she asked, her voice trembling.

Alexander remained silent, listening intently to the conversation.

",'We can use the fact that Alexander and Sophia were twins to our advantage," Lucy proposed, her voice low and serious. "Alexander can pretend to be Sophia and marry Prince Henry'. After a few days, he can divorce him, and no one will be the wiser about Alexander's true identity."

Alexander's face darkened with anger, and he exploded in outrage. "This is absurd!" he shouted, his voice echoing through the chamber.

After a brief moment, Alexander's mother, Rose, responded to Lucy's proposal. "You're right, my sister. This is our only option."

Alexander approached his mother, his face etched with concern. "Mother, why can't we just tell the truth?" he asked, but before he could finish speaking, his mother slapped him.

Rose's eyes blazed with anger. "Don't you have any sense? If the king finds out the truth, your father will be the one to suffer the consequences!" she shouted, her voice echoing through the chamber.

Alexander fell silent, reeling from the shock of his mother's slap. He looked at her, his eyes wide with hurt and confusion.

Alexander's mother spoke again, her voice firm. "I am your mother, and you will obey me," she said, as Alexander nodded submissively, knowing he had no choice.

The day arrived when Alexander was to depart for the palace of the 3rd prince of England. The servants helped him prepare, dressing him in Sophia's clothes, curling his hair, and applying makeup.

As he gazed into the large mirror, he barely recognized himself. He looked just like Sophia.

His mother entered the room and embraced him. "I wanted you to marry the most beautiful woman in England, but this is what fate has brought you. Just endure this, my child. From now on, you are Sophia, and Alexander is the one who has passed away. Remember that."

Alexander nodded, steeling himself for what lay ahead. He was ready to face whatever challenges awaited him in the palace of the 3rd prince.
