Chris then stretch, as he looked at the ground, as He saw the ring being remade after Marisa and Reimu Match. "Eh bien, peu importe à quel point ce calcul était mauvais, ça ne peut pas être pire (Well, no matter how bad this computation was, it can't get any worse)"
Junko blinked as she spoke. "You know French?"
Chris looked at her as he continue. "Toi, tu le récupères après avoir été formé à Magic By Patchouli et avoir traîné avec Remilia et Sakuya (You, pick it up after being train in Magic By Patchouli and hanging around Remilia and Sakuya).
Junko tilted her head slightly, a small amused smile forming. "So, you've been spending that much time with the Scarlet Devil Mansion crew."
Chris gave a casual shrug. "When you're constantly dodging Sakuya's knives and trying to translate Patchouli's lectures, you either learn French… or you die confused."
Koakuma, passing by with a stack of books, smirked. "More like you learn French so you can understand when Patchouli is calling you an idiot in three different languages."
Chris pointed at her. "Hey, I caught that last time. I even corrected her grammar."
From the stands, Sakuya's voice cut in like a blade. "Your pronunciation still needs work, though."
Chris didn't even look up. "I'll take that as progress."
Seig looked at her as she spoke. "What's wrong with his Pronunciation?"
Sakuya sighed as she spoke from the stand. "Because he sounds like a Damm Romance Protagonist, makes our heart flitter".
Chris blinked as he processes does words, as his brain goes reboot as be turned red. "Excuse me".
Koakuma instantly grinned like she had just found a new toy. "Ooooh~ so our dear Chris has that kind of charm? Didn't know you were auditioning for the lead role in 'Love Under the Scarlet Moon.'"
Marisa leaned against her broom, snickering. "Guess that explains why Remilia's always keepin' ya around. Not for yer magic—just for the aesthetic."
Chris buried his face in his hands, muttering, "I did not sign up for this…"
From above, Sakuya's voice still carried that teasing edge. "Oh, but you play the part so naturally. Even your flustered look matches the scene."
Chris groaned, trying to hide the fact his ears were practically glowing. "This is harassment. I'm suing… in French."
As it was rbe Bamboo first far from the current chaos of the Human Village
As there was girl, she has red eyes and long, white hair that reaches her ankles. She typically wears a light brown shirt that appears to be scorched and dark red overalls adorned with paper charms. Her hair is also decorated with red and white paper charms. Her attire is somewhat masculine, she wearing a dress shirt with suspenders and hakama pants, as this was style more common here in Gensokyo
[Inster image of Mokou]
Mokou is seen flying just above the tree, looking a little worn but determined.
Mokou just mutter under her breath. "She has been freed this century? Ugh... Time to find that lazy ass before she gets hersekf killed".
She glanced around, sending Kaguya aura faintly lingering as she started trailing it like a blood. As she arrived to a tournament.
As she saw Chris in the announcement Box with Junko and Seiga, as the stage below them is being remade
Mokou felt Kaguya enegry on Chris, as she narrows her eyes, landed on him. "Hey, You. Guy with the angel wing's".
Chris stopped as he looked up at her as he spoke in his mind. "Another fighter, but she doesn't seem like the type to fight for religion".
"Yes, Ma'am?".
Mokou narrows her eyes as she spoke. "Where are you hiding Kaguya?"
Chris paused. Face tightening slightly, he slowly bring to summon his Grimoire, hidden bellow the announcement desk. "What do want with her'.
Mokou coldy but tone of misread spoke to him. "Doesn't Matter to you. You well disappear.".
[Subtile Clarify: She means: "I'll pay for your trouble to keep my friend safe, thanks for that".
What Chris Hears: "A corpse doesn't need to talk much"
"While yes, I can clarify this is funnier"] - Junko
Chris eyas narrows as he looked at her in the girl. "Sorry, I am not telling tiny anything".
Mokou being to pull somet coins out of her sleeves, but to Chris, it looks she is drawing a weapons. "Very well then, maybe This will change your mind".
Chris instead gone from view as he teleport behind in a Golden Flash, as he kicked as she blocked the first kicker but then the second kicked slms hee into the dirbcrakung the ground.
Chris was already casting spell cars and Danmaku. "Sorry... But she is my friend. And if you war her Alors, allez-y Ma dame".
She got as she looked pissed. "You pissed me of".
Mokou's aura flared like a bonfire, the paper charms in her hair whipping around from the heat as her red eyes locked on Chris.
"You really want to do this?" she growled, her voice almost cracking from the heat waves radiating off her.
Chris just adjusted his stance, wings half-flared, grimoire floating beside him and glowing. "No, but you're making it way too easy."
Junko leaned against the railing of the announcer's box, watching the exchange with a smirk. "This is going to be delightful. Two immortals, one misunderstanding."
Seiga folded her arms, tilting her head. "Should we… tell him she was trying to pay him?"
Junko grinned wider. "Oh, absolutely not."
Mokou launched forward in a blur of fire, her first wave of danmaku spiraling like a wildfire across the air. Chris countered with a golden magic circle that flared into a volley of holy light bullets, the clash of fire and radiance turning the air between them into a boiling haze.
"Your spells sting," Mokou admitted, weaving between the bursts before firing a stream of phoenix-shaped fireballs.
Chris sidestepped, the golden chain from earlier snapping out like a whip and wrapping around one of the firebirds mid-flight before swinging it back at her.
"Your birds bite," Chris shot back.
From the stands, Koakuma munched on something suspiciously like popcorn. "I give it… two minutes before the entire ring is on fire."
Sakuya didn't even look up from her tea. "One and a half."
Reimu was already drawing glowing ofuda in the air, layering barrier after barrier around the arena to keep the blast waves from spilling into the village.
"Marisa, you're loud, flashy, and impossible to ignore. Use that," she said, not even glancing away from her work.
Marisa gave her a half-grin, tipping her hat. "So, distract 'em with style. Got it."
She hopped onto her broom, shot into the air above the crowd, and called out, "Ladies, gents, and everything in between—bonus match! No religion points, just pure spectacle!" She punctuated her words with a massive star-shaped explosion in the sky, showering the stands with harmless sparks.
The villagers, who had started murmuring nervously at the sight of Mokou's fire and Chris's golden light, immediately shifted their focus to Marisa's showmanship. The cheers picked back up, the mood changing from anxious to excited.
Down below, Mokou and Chris were still trading blows, both now half-hidden by the shimmering heat and holy light.
Reimu muttered to herself as she sealed the last layer. "Perfect. Now they can burn each other to a crisp without scaring the whole village."
Flandre looked at Mokou fighting Chris as she was confused. "I am confused, but doesn't Mokou want to kill Kaguya?".
Sakuya looked at her as she spoke. "Well, yes, but she is also friends with her.... Kinda, so if anyone is gonna kill Kaguya, she thinks it's gonna be her".
Meiling who got a break from the referee duty, now sense it was an actual fight spoke. "So basically Toxic Yuri".
Koakuma just blinekd as she looked at her friend. "Where did you even learn that word".
"Patchi has some interesting books in the Library for some reason".
Flandre tilted her head, processing Meiling's explanation like it was a riddle. "So… they're enemies but also kinda like each other?"
Meiling nodded sagely, as if delivering profound wisdom. "Exactly. Love-hate, but with more explosions."
Sakuya gave the faintest sigh, adjusting her gloves. "That's… an overly casual way to describe centuries of mutual grudges and bizarre affection."
Koakuma just stared at Meiling. "You… read those books in Patchouli's library?"
Meiling shrugged, completely unfazed. "Hey, I was bored, and she said I needed to 'expand my vocabulary.' I think I succeeded."
Koakuma put a hand to her face. "I'm starting to think Patchouli gives you those on purpose."
Meanwhile, another burst of golden light and a column of flame from the fight sent the crowd roaring in excitement—none the wiser that this wasn't part of the official tournament at all.
Back with Chris as tacked the Girl to the ground, as the ground Break, as Mokou coverd her first with flames and almost hit him as Chris teleported Behind her and kicked her away.
Mokou just looked at him. "Ok, what happened to keeping with the Spell card rules".
Chris looked at her as he spoke. "Your the one who was going to punch me".
As they both summoned more Danmaku.
Mokou's eyes narrowed, fire licking at her fingertips. "Yeah, well, you kicked me first!"
Chris raised an eyebrow, flipping his grimoire open with one hand. "Self-defense. Also, you looked really punch-happy."
"Punch-happy?!" Mokou barked out a laugh, then unleashed a wave of phoenix-shaped fireballs. "That's rich coming from the guy who dropkicked me into a crater!"
Chris sidestepped, golden chains whipping out to shatter incoming projectiles. "Hey, two kicks. That's called restraint where I come from."
Mokou hovered higher, embers falling around her like snow. "Restraint, huh? Let's see how restrained you are when you're on fire."
Chris smirked, gathering light in his palm as the air between them shimmered with heat. "Try me, BBQ hair."
The two launched their next barrage at the same time—golden rays and fiery talons colliding midair, sending shockwaves through the arena as the "audience" continued cheering, still convinced it was just the next wild tournament match.
The air between them warped under the clash of heat and light.
Golden lances of radiance streaked across the arena, weaving through the flaming phoenix wings Mokou hurled his way. Each collision burst into a blinding flare—half sunlight, half wildfire.
Chris dove forward, teleporting in a golden blink, reappearing at Mokou's flank. His chains shot out like lightning, aiming to bind her mid-flight.
But Mokou twisted in the air, her body wreathed in roaring flame, burning the chains away before they could tighten. "Cute trick," she taunted, firing a concentrated beam of heat that distorted the space around it.
Chris swung his grimoire like a shield, the pages erupting in a sigil of pure light that split the attack down the middle. "You're gonna need more than cute firebirds to roast me."
Mokou answered by rocketing straight at him, a trail of fire exploding behind her. Chris braced for impact, but at the last moment, she vanished in a blur of heat shimmer—appearing above him instead.
A downward kick, wreathed in phoenix fire, crashed into his guard, driving him several feet into the tournament platform.
The crowd screamed with excitement, believing it was all part of the show.
Chris pushed her back with a burst of holy energy, skidding to his feet, eyes locked on hers. "Alright, fine. You wanna go all out?"
Mokou smirked, the flames around her intensifying until the air itself seemed ready to combust. "Been waiting for you to say that."
Above them, golden light and crimson flame began spiraling together, forming a storm that threatened to engulf the entire arena.
Chris then spoke. "Fuck this".
He lipted his hand up, as everyone got frozen in time, but Sakuya, as she looked at him, Chris Teleporting behind her, as he rapped her in his Golden Chains, as he restarted Time.
As Mokou started to move, she realizes, she couldn't user her power anymore, heck she couldn't even fly anymore
Mokou's eyes widened as her body felt… heavy.
No flame, no wings, not even the faint ember that usually thrummed in her chest. She hit the ground with a solid thud, stumbling to keep her balance.
"The hell did you do to me?" she snapped, yanking at the golden chains that shimmered faintly around her form like spectral bindings.
Chris dusted himself off, expression somewhere between smug and annoyed. "Let's just say… you're on cooldown. No immortality hacks, no flight, no fire—welcome to being normal."
Junko leaned over the announcer's desk, smirking. "Ooooh, that's cruel. Like caging a phoenix."
From the stands, Sakuya crossed her arms. "Golden Chains of Sealing. Same ones he used on a certain vampire when she got too excited one night."
Remilia's voice rang out from somewhere in the crowd. "I HEARD THAT, SAKUYA!"
Mokou tugged at the bindings again, scowling. "You think I need fire to beat you?"
Chris tilted his head. "No. But I think you need fire to stop me."
He stepped forward, and in a flash of gold, the chains tightened—not enough to hurt, but enough to keep her still. The crowd erupted in cheers, thinking it was just another dramatic "tournament stunt."
"Now," Chris said, his voice low enough that only she could hear, "you're gonna tell me exactly why you're looking for Kaguya before this gets… less friendly."
Mokou's glare didn't soften. "And if I don't?"
Chris smirked, flicking his fingers. The chains glowed brighter. "Then you're gonna really hate your next ten minutes."
Mokou looked at him as he spoke. "Ok, so... How do I explain our Relationship".
Chris looked at her as he spoke. "Complicated? Aren't you an Assasin from the Moon Kingdom to kill her?".
Mokou actually froze for a second, her brows furrowing like Chris had just guessed her browser history.
"…Wait, what? Assassin from the Moon Kingdom? No, that's—no. That's Reisen's whole 'military lapdog' gig, not mine," she said, almost offended.
Chris blinked. "So you're not some secret lunar hitwoman sent to take her out?"
Mokou shook her head, arms still bound but her tone dripping with sarcasm. "No. I'm just a mortal girl who drank the wrong thing, got stuck living forever, and decided Kaguya was the most annoying person in existence. We've been trying to kill each other for… uh… a few centuries."
Junko, leaning on the announcer's box rail, grinned. "And yet you still show up whenever she's in trouble. Truly the pinnacle of enemies-to-lovers."
From the stands, Meiling cupped her hands and shouted, "TOXIC YURI!"
Koakuma groaned. "Oh for the love of—stop teaching her internet slang, Patchy!"
Chris ran a hand down his face. "…So you're basically her immortal stalker with a grudge."
Mokou smirked. "And her best sparring partner. Don't forget that part."
