Chapter 6 - Leon Juicero

As Leon stepped forward, he wasted no time and immediately charged at Keir with all of his speed, his fist raised in preparation to crush Keir in one blow. The attack was predictable and Keir could see it coming from a mile away. He dodged with ease and returned a punch of his own, but once his fist came in contact with Leon's body, his eyes widened in shock as it felt like he had punched a wall of solid steel.

"I told you, It's useless!" Leon took this moment to strike Keir right in the gut, sending him flying and rolling across the entire dirt field, leaving a trail of dust in his path. "No!" Lucas shouted as Tasha and himself watched, "Do you get it now?" Leon raised his arms and flexed his biceps, taunting his opponent, "Do you realize who you're up against? You stand no chance!" He laughed and was still as cocky as ever.

Keir slowly pushed himself up from the dirt and spat out a puddle of blood, his expression darkened and dirtied from the dust flowing around him.

[50/100 HP]

That one clear blow had done around thirty damage to him, however, Leon's movements, behavior, and weaknesses were taken note of by Keir. "I got it… there might still be a way to win." He pushed himself up and began walking towards Leon, who seemed surprised that Keir could still stand after taking such a devastating blow head on, but that surprise quickly shifted into annoyance at the boy's persistence.

"Why won't you just give up? You have no hope of winning against me!" Leon hardened the muscles in his body and charged at Keir once more, aiming to use double the strength in his next blow to make sure his opponent didn't get up from it. However, when coming close to Keir and raising his fist, Leon was caught off guard by the boy jumping over his punch and kicking him in the nose. The impact caused him to stumble and clutch his nose, which was now bleeding too.

"You were so cocky, but you have one obvious flaw in your ability." Keir stated as he landed on his feet, "You can't increase the muscle power in your entire body at the same time! You can only switch to the areas that you want to boost in that designated moment!" Now he had a large chance of winning against the large boy. His movements were slow and obvious, he was a large target, and now Keir found another weakness to exploit.

Leon wiped his face and spat out his next words, "I'LL KILL YOU!" He ran like a feral dog and swung his fists out rapidly, just like before, Keir dodged and dodged and went in for another strike. Thinking he was going to aim for his face again, Leon transitioned his ability to the muscles in his face and enhanced its durability.

"You won't be able to do that same trick on me again-" He was cut off by a sudden pain in his stomach, and when looking down, Keir had his knee planted right in Leons gut and began repeatedly punching that area now that it was vulnerable. All Leon could do was stand there and take the barrage of blows and let out a roar of pain and anger until he collapsed to the ground from the pain, spewing out blood in the process. By the end of the fight, Keir felt his body suddenly give out and fell to the ground as well, pushing his limits too far too soon.

[All Stamina has been used. The player is now limited in moving until they recover from fatigue]

Lucas, who had stayed to the end with Tasha, quickly made his way over to Keir after seeing him suddenly collapse after that intense battle. "Keir! Are you alright?!" Lucas asked, voicing his concern. "I'm fine…I just pushed myself too far…" Keir muttered, keeping the cloak hood over his head to make sure his face was hidden away from any hidden sources, which the two siblings understood.

Lucas nodded and grabbed onto one of Keir's arms, "Come on, Tasha, we have to get to the infirmary." He suggested to his sister, gesturing that she helped him carry his friend to the infirmary. Tasha hesitated for a moment with a pink tent dusting her cheeks, but she did eventually help Lucas carry Keir to the infirmary, though she seemed distracted now that he was in her arms. "This boy must be one of Lucas's new friends…He's so strong…But he didn't use any obvious abilities." She wondered, but Lucas began walking, so she followed along and helped.

Meanwhile, a figure watched the three departing students from a distance with their phone clicking a few times. They seemed to have caught the entire fight on camera and put the device away after it was over. "Heh, Leon was taken down, Bradley won't be so happy about that." Their blue hair flowed in the soft wind as they chuckled slightly.

One hour later

Keir's eyes snapped open and he felt himself lying on a soft bed. He sat up and looked around, noticing that he was brought to the infirmary. Lucas was sitting on another medical bed and was getting his wounds and cuts treated by one of the school nurses, using a basic healing ability to treat him. The situation was temporarily resolved. There might still be more problems down the line, but his identity was hidden during that entire confrontation, he hoped

However, Keir felt a presence sitting right next to his bed. When turning his gaze, he could see Tashe sitting in a chair, awkwardly playing with her hair after being spotted. "She's been sitting there ever since you passed out, you know?" Lucas suddenly commented from his medical bed. "I passed out, huh? I didn't realize I pushed myself that hard." Keir muttered, looking back at Tasha, who was slightly pink from Lucas's comments.

"I wanted to thank you for saving my stupid brother," Lucas's face soured playfully at her words, but he didn't want to interrupt the ongoing scene. "I also would've been in some serious trouble if you didn't swoop in and catch me back there." Tasha's words were genuine and sincere as she smiled softly. "I can't believe my sister is actually being soft right now. Is she crushing?" Lucas teased, laughing as his sister rolled her eyes and stood.

"Alright, if you're done being pampered by the nurse, the evaluation is coming up. We should head to the combat class right now while everyone else is heading there." Tasha was right, they all had spent the entire school day dealing with The Loaners that they didn't keep track of time. "Yeah, we should get going." Lucas rose from his medical bed and thanked the nurse before walking next to Tasha.

However, Keir also stood and told the two siblings that he would catch up in a few seconds. The two didn't question it and just accepted his words before walking out of the room. Keir made sure that no one was around before muttering to himself, "Now, what did I miss, system?"
