Chapter 39 - Chapter 39

"You mean... Planet Vegeta has been destroyed?"

The young Saiyan named Asa trembled upon hearing the news. His once-arrogant demeanor was gone, replaced by shock and fear.

Sephilia's cold gaze locked onto him. "That's right. Now, you have two choices. First, come with us, and we'll take you to a planet where no one can find you. Second, stay here—we won't force you. Decide now."

"You won't harm me?"

"Correct," Sephilia replied, though a faint, nearly imperceptible chill passed through her eyes.

If this Saiyan made the right choice, it would be fine. But if he chose to stay, then, for the sake of their secrecy, Sephilia would have no choice but to eliminate him.

After a brief moment of contemplation, Asa spoke softly, "I'll go with you."

"A wise choice."

Raiga praised him. The kid had at least some sense, which saved his life.

Raiga knew that Sephilia had already considered killing him. He couldn't help but admire her decisive nature—it was something he himself lacked. In situations like these, she was the one he had to learn from.

"You made the right decision. There aren't many Saiyans left. We should not doubt each other," Sephilia said, her expression softening into a warm smile—completely different from her previous icy demeanor. Raiga glanced at her out of the corner of his eye. "Just a moment ago, weren't you ready to kill him?"

Sephilia flashed Raiga a small smile. He was momentarily stunned before chuckling along with her.

Asa, now somewhat relaxed, asked, "So, how are we leaving? You have a spaceship, right?"

"No need for that. A spacecraft would only expose our location."

With that, Raiga and Sephilia followed Asa to the landing site of his pod. A spherical, white spacecraft sat there. Without hesitation, Raiga launched a ki blast into the cabin, and with a loud explosion, the ship caught fire, releasing a burnt, acrid smell into the air.

"Wha—! You destroyed my ship! How am I supposed to leave now?" Asa panicked.

"Don't worry. We have our own way."

Raiga remained calm and confident.

Asa looked at Raiga suspiciously. Raiga simply smiled, then grabbed Asa before activating his "Transfer Technique." Sephilia stepped closer naturally, and in a flash of white light, the three disappeared from the planet.

Of course, Raiga did not bring Asa directly to Planet Frey. Instead, after a few transfers, they arrived at a remote planet not far from Frey—Kasha.

Kasha was a low-level planet, abundant in wildlife but lacking valuable mineral resources. Because of this, it was of no interest to Frieza's forces.

Raiga planned to gather all the Saiyans they could find here and observe them for a while. Only once he was sure of their loyalty would he consider the next step. Saiyans were naturally prideful and rebellious—he couldn't trust them so easily.

"Stay here for now. More Saiyans will arrive soon. Don't cause any trouble."

"O-okay."

Asa nodded hurriedly, his face pale. He looked at Raiga with a mix of respect and fear.

Raiga turned to Sephilia. "Let's go to the next target."

Sephilia asked with concern, "Do you need to rest first?"

Raiga shook his head and popped a senzu bean into his mouth. "No, we don't have time to waste."

Sephilia nodded. She stepped closer, allowing Raiga to hold her by the waist, and in the awestruck gaze of Asa, they vanished once more.

Their next destination led them to a four-year-old female Saiyan. Being so young, she had no resistance against Sephilia and Raiga. As with Asa, they used a mix of coercion and persuasion to bring her to Kasha.

Over the following days, Raiga and Sephilia jumped from planet to planet, gathering more Saiyan survivors.

Of course, the process wasn't always smooth. Some Saiyans outright refused to believe them, while others, even if convinced, still chose not to go. Those who resisted… were dealt with swiftly by Sephilia.

As time passed, finding more Saiyan survivors became increasingly difficult. Some were stranded in places too remote to be worth the effort. Others, when found, were already killed by Frieza's forces.

Several times, Raiga and Sephilia even ran into Frieza's men. These pursuers, assigned to hunt down Saiyan survivors, generally had power levels in the 1,000–2,000 range. If they were too powerful, Raiga would avoid them. But against those of comparable strength, Sephilia would first destroy their communicators, then let Raiga fight them—turning these encounters into valuable battle experience for him.

After two months, Raiga finally halted the search. By then, they had gathered around two hundred Saiyans on Kasha.

The majority were children. Only sixty were adults.

Fortunately, the male-to-female ratio was balanced enough to ensure the continuation of their bloodline. Once all the Saiyans matured, they could potentially form around a hundred pairs. If each pair produced three or four offspring, the Saiyan population would slowly recover.

However, the effort had come at a cost. Raiga had burned through an alarming amount of senzu beans—more than half of the ten thousand he had originally taken from Korin. Now, only about five thousand remained, a fact that made his heart ache.

But sacrifices were necessary for rewards. One day, when these Saiyans had grown stronger, he could establish a formidable force in the universe.

"The only downside is that most of them are low-class warriors. Only ten have the potential to be mid-class," Raiga muttered, gazing at the gathered Saiyans with mild disappointment.

Two hundred Saiyans, yet only ten had the potential of mid-class warriors. And among them, only five had surpassed a power level of 1,000.

Compared to the Saiyan race at its peak, this was a pathetic remnant.

Sephilia, unfazed, replied, "Low-class warriors always made up the majority of our race. Some could never reach even 1,000 power level in their lifetime. Considering that we're only gathering remnants, finding ten mid-class warriors is already a decent outcome."

Hertz, unable to contain his joy, grinned. "Exactly. With this many Saiyans, at least our bloodline won't go extinct."

The fact that the once-proud Saiyan race had been reduced to worrying about mere survival was both ironic and tragic.
