Chapter 135 - Chapter 135: Lu Bu, Even You Have Your Bad Days… Hmm?

Chapter 135: Lu Bu, Even You Have Your Bad Days… Hmm?

Above a vast green expanse, a gryphon carried Lu Bu and his party of five through the sky. The group consisted of Xiao Yan, Xiao Xun'er, Qi Jing, a Dou Wang level mentor, and Lu Bu. They were en route to Canaan City from the Outer Academy, heading toward the western mountain range.

As Lu Bu gazed at the rapidly retreating scenery below, a subtle smile played on his lips. Qi Jing… the Kui Wolf Gang… If he remembered correctly, in the original story, the Kui Wolf Gang had encountered Zi Yan, who was at the Dou Huang level at the time.

The result? They were absolutely obliterated. Their leader had been so desperate that his last words were, "Young Master Mo, save me!"

Then, Mo Ya had appeared, and Zi Yan and Mo Ya had crossed paths for the first time.

It all made sense now Black Emperor Sect had already extended its influence into the Inner Academy. Their aim was clear: to create chaos and lure Lu Bu out into the open.

If his guess was right, the Kui Wolf Gang and Mo Ya were already prepared and waiting for him.

This was why Lu Bu had brought Xiao Yan and Xiao Xun'er along. Mo Ya's father was a four star Dou Zong, a formidable powerhouse. Lu Bu wasn't confident he could win against him. Even if he could, the cost would be steep.

In his current state, even in Medusa form, he might not emerge victorious. And even if he did, he would undoubtedly sustain serious injuries.

Initially, Lu Bu hadn't wanted to get involved in this mess. After all, wasn't peaceful cultivation far more appealing?

But curiosity got the better of him. He couldn't ignore the incomplete words of the deceased Black Emperor Sect elder's remnant soul. What exactly was Mo Ya's purpose in infiltrating the Inner Academy's territory?

And so, Lu Bu decided to take a look. He wanted to have a chat with Mo Ya. And, of course, he had brought Xiao Yan and Xiao Xun'er along.

Altogether, they had the combat power of three Dou Zongs, including Xiao Yan's puppet and Xiao Xun'er's shadow guard, Ling Ying. With two Dou Huangs on top of that, even if they couldn't defeat Mo Tian Xing, they could certainly shake him to the core.

At that point, whether or not they fought wouldn't be up to Mo Tian Xing anymore.

Additionally, Lu Bu had spent half a month studying the Azure Sky Dragon Technique it was time to test it out.

A shrill screech echoed as the gryphon let out a cry, soaring westward with Lu Bu's group toward a forested mountain range on the western outskirts of Canaan City. According to the mission intel, the Kui Wolf Gang's hideout was in those mountains.

As he flipped through the mission scroll, Lu Bu pondered for a moment before saying, "Once the mission starts, Xiao Yan and I will take care of the two Dou Ling leaders."

"Xiao Xun'er, Senior Sister, you two will provide support. Don't let any of these scum escape. After Xiao Yan and I handle the leaders, we'll clean up the rest of them together."

"Got it," Xiao Yan nodded.

Though he had just reached the seven star Da Dou Shi level, he was confident in his ability to take on a Dou Ling. These criminals lived on borrowed time they didn't have proper techniques or high level Dou Qi. Against students of Canaan Academy, they were just asking to die.

Such people only knew how to fight recklessly. Their viciousness might give them an edge for a moment, but that was all. When it came to ruthlessness… well, Xiao Yan wasn't one to back down.

With that thought, he felt no need to refuse. It was rare for him to get out like this, and he wasn't going to waste the opportunity.

Seeing Xiao Yan's eagerness, as if he were preparing for an epic battle, Lu Bu chuckled. He cast a brief, meaningful glance at Qi Jing, his smile taking on a subtle, enigmatic quality.

However, Xiao Yan and Xiao Xun'er were too focused on each other to notice Lu Bu's faintly amused expression.

Lu Bu couldn't help but look forward to it if Xiao Yan knew the kind of trap he was walking into… Heh heh heh… would he still be this cheerful?

Behind him, the young mentor vanished in a flash, his Dou Qi wings carrying him into the sky. His role was to ensure the students' safety. Unless they were on the verge of death, he wouldn't interfere in their mission. Whether the students charged in headfirst or played it safe, it was all up to them. His only concern was ensuring they returned to the academy alive.

Qi Jing, meanwhile, closed her eyes and rested, paying little attention to the others.

In a small mountain range nestled within a dense forest, the peaks weren't particularly tall, but the thick foliage made the area well hidden.

Scattered bamboo buildings surrounded a concealed cave.

Inside the cave, a white clad youth sat on a throne like chair, his expression cold and detached. His hands rested on the armrests as he sat with a domineering air.

This was Mo Ya, the same person who had previously been defeated by Lu Bu and Zi Yan. Now, he had fully recovered his severed limb regrown, and his body completely healed.

Behind him stood two black robed elders, their hands clasped behind their backs, their hawk like eyes scanning the room.

To his left, a burly man bowed slightly, waiting for Mo Ya's instructions.

"Leader Kui Sha, is everything ready?" Mo Ya asked coldly, his expression darkening as he spoke.

The memory of losing his arm still haunted him three days spent scavenging for food in the endless wilderness, fighting off wild beasts to survive. If not for his luck, he would have died out there.

Me, Mo Ya the Black Emperor Sect's young master reduced to such humiliation?

His fists clenched, veins bulging on his arms as hatred burned in his eyes. This time, he would kill that pretty boy first, then deal with the little girl.

One step at a time. Let's see him escape my trap this time.

"Everything is ready, Young Master Mo!" Kui Sha, the Kui Wolf Gang's leader, replied hastily. Despite his burly frame, he seemed almost timid in front of Mo Ya, his demeanor cautious and deferential.

Above a vast sea of green, a gryphon carried five individuals Lu Bu, Xiao Yan, Xiao Xun'er, Qi Jing, and a Dou Wang level mentor soaring toward the Kui Wolf Gang's mountain stronghold, located west of Canaan City.

As Lu Bu observed the rapidly retreating scenery below, a faint, knowing smile appeared on his face. Qi Jing… Kui Wolf Gang… If his memory served him correctly, the Kui Wolf Gang had once crossed paths with Zi Yan in the original story when she was at the Dou Huang level.

The result? They were utterly destroyed. Their leader's final, desperate words had been, "Young Master Mo, save me!"

And that was when Mo Ya had appeared, leading to Zi Yan's first confrontation with him.

It all made sense now the Black Emperor Sect had extended its influence into the Inner Academy. Their goal was to stir up trouble and lure Lu Bu into their trap.

Judging by the situation, the Kui Wolf Gang and Mo Ya were already lying in wait.

This was exactly why Lu Bu had brought along Xiao Yan and Xiao Xun'er. Mo Ya's father, Mo Tian Xing, was a four star Dou Zong, a formidable foe. While Lu Bu wasn't certain he could defeat him, even if he could, the cost would be significant.

In his current state, even with his Medusa form, victory was not guaranteed. And even if he managed to win, he would undoubtedly sustain serious injuries.

Initially, Lu Bu hadn't wanted to involve himself in this mess wasn't peaceful cultivation far more enjoyable?

But curiosity got the better of him. The incomplete message left by the Black Emperor Sect elder's remnant soul nagged at him. What was Mo Ya's true purpose for infiltrating the Inner Academy's territory?

So, Lu Bu decided to investigate and to bring Xiao Yan and Xiao Xun'er along for good measure.

Altogether, they had the combined power of three Dou Zongs (including Xiao Yan's puppet and Xiao Xun'er's shadow guard, Ling Ying), plus two Dou Huangs. Even if they couldn't defeat Mo Tian Xing, they could certainly give him a fright. At that point, whether or not a fight broke out wouldn't be up to Mo Tian Xing.

Additionally, Lu Bu had spent the past half month studying the Azure Sky Dragon Technique. It was time for a test run.

The gryphon let out a piercing screech as it flew westward, carrying Lu Bu and his party toward a mountain range shrouded in dense forest. According to their mission details, the Kui Wolf Gang's hideout was nestled in this area.

As he reviewed the mission scroll, Lu Bu's brows furrowed in thought. "When we begin, Xiao Yan and I will take care of the two Dou Ling leaders," he instructed.

"Xiao Xun'er, Senior Sister Qi Jing, you two will provide support. Don't let any of them escape. Once Xiao Yan and I finish off the leaders, we'll clean up the rest of the scum together."

"Understood," Xiao Yan replied with a nod.

Though he had only recently reached the seven star Da Dou Shi level, he was confident he could handle a Dou Ling. These criminals, living day to day, lacked proper techniques or advanced Dou Qi. Against the trained students of Canaan Academy, they were as good as dead.

Such individuals had nothing but their ferocity and desperation to rely on in battle. However, Xiao Yan wasn't one to back down from a fight, especially when it came to who could be more ruthless.

Seeing Xiao Yan's excitement, Lu Bu chuckled. He cast a subtle, unreadable glance at Qi Jing, his smile becoming somewhat enigmatic.

Of course, Xiao Yan and Xiao Xun'er, who were entirely focused on each other, failed to notice Lu Bu's amused expression.

Lu Bu couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation when Xiao Yan realized what kind of trap he was walking into, would he still be this cheerful?

Behind them, the young mentor spread his Dou Qi wings and disappeared into the sky. His job was to ensure the students' safety. Unless they were on the brink of death, he wouldn't intervene.

Qi Jing, meanwhile, remained composed, closing her eyes to rest.

In a dense forest surrounding a small mountain range, the terrain was not particularly imposing, but the thick foliage provided excellent cover.

Scattered bamboo buildings surrounded a concealed cave.

Inside the cave, a white robed young man sat on a throne like chair, his expression cold and detached. This was Mo Ya, the same person who had previously been defeated by Lu Bu and Zi Yan. Now fully healed, he had even regrown his severed arm.

Behind him stood two black robed elders, their hawk like eyes scanning the room.

To his left, a burly man awaited orders.

"Leader Kui Sha, is everything ready?" Mo Ya asked coldly, his expression darkening as he spoke.

"Yes, Young Master Mo!" Kui Sha, the leader of the Kui Wolf Gang, replied hastily. Despite his imposing frame, he seemed almost timid before Mo Ya.

Outside, Lu Bu and his party boldly arrived on the gryphon, descending directly above the Kui Wolf Gang's stronghold.

"I'll go first. Follow me," Lu Bu instructed, glancing at the others.

"Wait, Junior…" Qi Jing called out, but Lu Bu had already leapt off the gryphon, his Purple Cloud Wings spreading wide like a hunting falcon.

With a sharp motion, his palms sent out streaks of green energy, which rained down upon the bamboo buildings below.

Explosions erupted across the camp.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

"Who dares attack the Kui Wolf Gang?!" a scar faced man roared, his voice booming.

But before he could react, a massive black ruler descended from the sky, its piercing whistle cutting through the air.

Boom!

The scar faced man was reduced to a bloody pulp on the spot. Xiao Yan landed lightly, his toes resting on the ruler's hilt as he surveyed the panicked bandits below.

"Heh… Kui Wolf Gang? Is this all you've got?" Xiao Yan sneered, gripping the heavy ruler in his hand. "Who gave you the guts to provoke Canaan Academy?"

"You little brat, die!"

A foul smelling broadsword swung toward Xiao Yan, wielded by a one eyed, bald man with a ferocious snarl.

Xiao Yan snorted. With a flick of his heavy ruler, he easily parried the attack, his overwhelming strength pushing the bald man back.

Just as expected, these criminals had no advanced techniques or training. They were nothing more than a ragtag bunch of desperate thugs.

Meanwhile, Xiao Xun'er stood to the side, smiling as she watched Xiao Yan fight. Qi Jing, standing nearby, also smiled faintly as she observed both Lu Bu and Xiao Yan in action.

Before long, the Kui Wolf Gang's vanguard had been completely wiped out.

"Bring out your leader!" Xiao Yan shouted, his crimson Dou Qi flaring like an erupting volcano, intimidating the remaining bandits.

Lu Bu's eyes glimmered with a green light as small flames flickered around him, the intense heat keeping the gang at bay.

"Arrogant!"

A loud voice boomed from within a bamboo house. The structure exploded, revealing two figures a fat man and a thin man, both Dou Lings who glared angrily at Xiao Yan and Lu Bu.

"Well, well… looks like we've found the leaders of the Kui Wolf Gang," Xiao Yan sneered.

But before he could make a move, the two Dou Lings suddenly grinned, their expressions shifting from anger to mockery.

"Oh no…" A bad feeling crept up Lu Bu's spine.

"What?" Xiao Yan's pupils contracted as a foreboding sense of dread washed over him.

"Watch out!" Yao Lao's voice roared in his mind.

Before Xiao Yan could react, a chilling sensation spread across his waist.

Squelch!

Two gleaming daggers plunged into the sides of Xiao Yan and Lu Bu. Blood spilled from the wound, dripping down the blades.

Standing behind them, Qi Jing smiled faintly, her beautiful eyes glimmering with triumph.

"You b*tch!" Xiao Xun'er roared, golden light flaring from her hand as she slapped Qi Jing away.

Smack!

Qi Jing tumbled to the ground, seemingly unconscious.

Xiao Xun'er rushed to Xiao Yan's side, her eyes brimming with tears. "Xiao Yan gege, are you okay?"

"I'm fine…" Xiao Yan coughed, spitting out blood as he hastily swallowed a few pills.

"Damn it… We really fell into a trap this time," Xiao Yan muttered bitterly. Though the injury wasn't fatal just a stab to his waist it was still humiliating.

But at least… he wasn't the only one.

He glanced at Lu Bu, who was clutching his side. Heh, looks like you're not doing any better, Lu Bu.

"You seem happy," Lu Bu said, glaring at him.

"I'm just enjoying the sight of a Dou Zong being taken down a peg," Xiao Yan chuckled, his eyes falling on the blood staining Lu Bu's left side. "Lu Bu, even you have your bad days, huh?"

Lu Bu raised an eyebrow, his lips curling into a sly smile.

Then, with a casual flick of his finger, his robe tore slightly, revealing the wound beneath.

Or rather… what should have been a wound. Instead, Xiao Yan caught sight of a chunk of pork, blood dripping from its surface.

Lu Bu smirked. "What were you saying, good buddy?"

Xiao Yan: "…"

What the hell?!
