"You guys think too highly of Ayr. Isn't his Devil Fruit ability something that can only be used once in a lifetime? In other words, his Devil Fruit has been completely wasted." John scoffed, crossing his arms.
"Now he just possesses a useless Devil Fruit. Is that really worth all this praise?" Silver Axe added, his tone laced with irritation.
As their words fell, Golden Lion and the others turned their attention toward them, their expressions filled with disdain.
It was as if they were looking at complete fools.
Although Golden Lion and the others were aware that Ayr's Devil Fruit must have had significant drawbacks, the idea that it would be permanently "scrapped" after a single use was utterly ridiculous.
"Enough. Let's get down to business." Rocks' deep voice echoed through the room as he glanced at his commanders. He then took his seat at the center of the conference table.
Seeing this, Ayr and Whitebeard also sat down, focusing on the discussion at hand.
"Captain Rocks, why have you gathered us here today?" Golden Lion asked, his curiosity piqued.
A grin spread across Rocks' face.
"Tell me… do you know about the Ancient Weapons?"
The Three Ancient Weapons
Upon hearing this, many of the officers furrowed their brows.
The Ancient Weapons—legendary armaments of unimaginable power—were said to be capable of destroying the world itself.
The three great weapons were:
Pluton, a battleship from the Seven Water Capital, capable of annihilating entire islands with a single shot.
Poseidon, a mermaid princess born once every few centuries, possessing the ability to command the Sea Kings, the mighty rulers of the ocean.
Uranus, a weapon shrouded in mystery, its capabilities largely unknown—even to those with deep knowledge of the world.
Back then, Princess Shirahoshi had demonstrated Poseidon's power, summoning colossal Sea Kings—some stretching over 5,000 meters in length.
And if Uranus could be ranked alongside Poseidon and Pluton, then its destructive capability must rival or even exceed theirs.
"Captain Rocks… have you found one of the Ancient Weapons?" Whitebeard asked after a brief silence, his expression darkening slightly.
Truthfully, Whitebeard did not want to see Rocks rise to dominance.
He knew exactly what kind of man Rocks was.
If someone as ruthless and power-hungry as him seized control of the world, it would plunge into a chaos far worse than anything seen before.
Whitebeard's dream was to build a family and live freely on the seas.
But if Rocks became the supreme ruler, that dream would be shattered.
"No, not yet," Rocks admitted, shaking his head. "Ancient Weapons are rarer than even Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits. They're not so easily found."
The Mission: Finding the Ancient Weapons
"Then, why bring up Ancient Weapons now?" Ayr asked, his tone laced with suspicion.
"Because they will be the key to our domination of the world," Rocks declared, his voice filled with conviction.
"I need you all to help me locate them."
Rocks understood that brute strength alone wouldn't be enough to conquer the world.
Even with the combined might of his commanders, they would have to fight not just the Marine Headquarters but also the World Government, an entity that had remained untouched for centuries.
However…
If he could obtain an Ancient Weapon, victory would be assured.
As his words sank in, the atmosphere in the room grew heavy.
Everyone knew the Ancient Weapons weren't easy to find.
If they had remained hidden for centuries, how could they possibly track them down now?
"After the Hive Island battle, the Marines will be much more cautious around us," Rocks continued. "That means now is the perfect time to act."
"So, starting today, all of you are free to leave the Rocks Pirates and search the world for clues. Anyone who brings back valuable information will receive a great reward."
Rocks wasn't ignorant of the dangers of sending his men out individually.
Alone, even the strongest among them could be targeted by the Marines or other rival forces.
But he also knew something else.
Among his most powerful commanders—Ayr, Golden Lion, Whitebeard, Charlotte Linlin, Silver Axe, John, and Ochoku—each possessed immense strength.
As long as they survived, it wouldn't matter how many weaker crew members were lost.
No Clues? No Problem.
"Does Captain Rocks already have any leads on the Ancient Weapons?" Ayr asked.
Rocks shook his head. "No."
Ayr's face darkened.
What the hell?
No clues at all? Then where were they even supposed to start looking?!
"You're telling us to find something that has been hidden for centuries without any leads?" Golden Lion complained, his frustration evident.
"I never said it would be easy." Rocks smirked. "But as long as the Ancient Weapons exist, we WILL find them."
"And remember—anyone who brings me significant information will be handsomely rewarded."
The Reward
"What kind of reward?" Charlotte Linlin asked after a few moments of silence.
Rocks leaned forward, his grin widening.
"You really think I'd offer just any ordinary prize?" He chuckled. "Any of you will be satisfied with what I have to offer."
That statement instantly reignited the fighting spirit of many officers.
Rocks, as their captain, had amassed countless treasures and rare artifacts over the years.
Whatever he was offering, it was bound to be something truly valuable.
"Now then," Rocks continued. "Hand over your Vivre Cards. After that, you may leave and move freely."
Control Through Vivre Cards
Up until this point, Rocks had never confiscated his crew's Vivre Cards.
Why?
Because he had absolute confidence in his own power.
He believed that even if someone tried to flee, they wouldn't dare go against him.
But over time, he realized something.
His subordinates were getting stronger.
Even if he still considered them mere pawns, the reality was that some of them might attempt to defy him.
By taking their Vivre Cards, he ensured that if anyone tried to betray or abandon the crew…
He could hunt them down without fail.
Despite the unspoken tension, none of the officers openly protested.
If they refused now, they might as well declare themselves traitors.
One by one, they handed over their Vivre Cards.
An Urgent Interruption
BOOM! BOOM!
Suddenly, a loud knocking came from the door.
Rocks narrowed his eyes.
"Come in," he said coldly.
KRAK!
The door swung open as a pirate hurried inside, his face pale with fear.
His eyes darted around the room, taking in the overwhelming presence of the strongest pirates in the world.
For a moment, he was too terrified to speak.
"What is it?" Rocks demanded, his voice sharp as a blade.
The pirate swallowed hard.
Something big had just happened.
