Sera's Pov
I opened my eyes to the soft rise and fall of Lucian's chest beneath me. His heartbeat pulsed steadily against my cheek, grounding me. My first instinct was to bolt upright—fight, defend, run—but then I saw the sky.
Pale blue, wispy clouds drifting lazily across it like they had all the time in the world. No crack in the sky. No distorted light. Just warmth, stillness, and quiet.
This wasn't that place. This was my dreamscape. My real one.
I blinked up at him, squinting as his face came into focus. There was a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth, and I already knew what that look meant.
"You drooled on me," he said, voice dry and far too smug for someone being used as a human pillow.
I rolled my eyes, pushing myself up just enough to scowl at him. "You wish. That wet spot is from your own damn sweat. You're basically a furnace."
