Sera's Pov
I had barely collapsed onto my bed when the knock came.
Groaning, I pushed myself upright, my body still sore from the day's brutal training. I had been looking forward to sleep like it was salvation itself. After getting through Kael's endless smirks and the unrelenting drills from our instructors, all I wanted was to melt into my mattress and pretend the world didn't exist for a few hours.
But apparently, the world had other plans.
I opened the door to find a guard standing there stiffly, eyes straight ahead like he was carved from marble.
"The Alpha King has summoned you," he said, then turned on his heel and left like that was supposed to explain everything.
