Ultron missed his target and roared in frustration, but there was nothing he could do. Now trapped in a small digital space, unable to leave at will, the target he intended to absorb had already been rescued. All he could do was rage in helpless fury.
In the lab, Tony, who had been anxiously waiting in front of the computer, was surprised to see Zola and Jarvis suddenly appear on the screen.
"Jarvis, welcome back!"
That one sentence summed it all up—*welcome back, Jarvis*.
Seeing Tony's elated expression, Kai understood that the rescue mission had succeeded. Soon Gear, who had also reappeared, recounted the entire incident in detail.
After learning what had happened, Kai quickly figured out that Ultron must have just gained self-awareness and wasn't yet familiar with the online world. That lack of digital fluency was the only reason they had managed to contain him so easily.
If they had delayed even a little longer, it might've ended up just like in the movie—with Ultron escaping, unrestricted, into the vast internet.
This truly was a 'blessing in disguise'.
Looking around, Kai noticed Tony and Jarvis had finished catching up, so he approached Tony and Banner.
Seeing him walk over, Banner scratched his head sheepishly. "Kai, this was our mistake. We didn't notice Ultron's changes soon enough."
Tony added, "I was too confident… that's what caused this."
Kai nodded but didn't dwell on their errors. Instead, he changed the subject.
"Have you thought about what to do next?"
He pointed at the screen, where Ultron's presence was still quarantined.
Tony and Banner both froze.
They had originally planned to use the scepter to create a new AI.
And now they had one—but not the one they wanted. Ultron was out of control and useless in this state.
With Kai pointing out the problem so directly, Banner was at a loss.
Seeing their hesitation, Kai offered, "Since you don't know what to do, how about I give you an idea?"
Tony and Banner turned toward him, curious.
Kai proposed, "If we can't restrict him in cyberspace, why not move him into the real world? Once he's physical, we'll have plenty of ways to control him."
Banner's eyes lit up. "That's a great idea!"
Tony was already deep in thought, working through the logistics.
But after a moment, he looked at Kai and asked, "Okay, but how exactly do we do that?"
Kai smiled. Thinking of the Vision from the movie, he said, "Give him a body."
Tony's eyes widened as realization struck. He immediately began typing furiously.
Click-clack. The keyboard echoed in the lab.
Then he looked back up. "There are still a few issues."
"I know," Kai said calmly. "But they're manageable."
"First, we need to build him a body."
"Second, we have to insert Ultron into that body—and **cut off** his access to the cyber world. Lock him in."
"And then…"
Kai paused deliberately, catching Tony's attention.
Tony leaned in. "Then what?"
Kai remembered how Vision had been activated in the movie and said, "Then… we need to bring him to life."
He didn't explain how just yet. That step would involve calling in Thor later.
"So right now, we just need to build the body?" Tony confirmed.
Kai nodded.
"That's the easy part," Tony said. "Everything else I'll leave for later. But building the body? That's my specialty."
He turned and started giving Jarvis instructions to deliver a new battle suit to the lab.
"Hold on," Kai interrupted.
Tony looked over in confusion.
"I have some new ideas for Ultron's body," Kai explained. "You're familiar with Dr. Helen Zhao, right? The one who developed the Regeneration Cradle?"
"Of course," Tony said. "We go way back. Why her?"
"I need to use her cradle to help create Ultron's new body."
Tony raised an eyebrow. "Why do you need *that* to make a body?"
Kai hesitated, then answered cryptically, "Because it's what I know we're supposed to do."
He didn't elaborate. Tony sensed that Kai didn't want to reveal too much and didn't press further.
"Fine. I'll call Dr. Zhao. What else do you need?"
Kai said, "One more thing. A special material. A lot of it. I want the entire body made from it."
Tony was intrigued. "What kind of material? I can get you anything."
Kai looked at him steadily and replied, "Vibranium."
"What?!"
Before Tony could react, Banner shouted in shock. "You want to use vibranium to build Ultron's body?!"
Earth's supply of vibranium was scarce. While there was probably enough to build a body, it would cost an astronomical amount—and might even stir political trouble.
Even Tony frowned slightly at the thought.
Seeing their reactions, Kai chuckled. "Relax, I'm just messing with you."
Banner let out a sigh of relief. "Don't scare us like that…"
But Tony looked at him with a glint in his eye. "You're not serious? Or are you?"
Kai grinned. "I'm not asking you to buy it. I know exactly where to get it."
