Chapter 71 - Chapter 71: A Deeper Hunt

The smile on Falcon Squad's captain face was damn creepy, especially when he was lying in a pool of his own blood. He clutched his wrist—where the bullet had torn through—still acting like everything was under his control.

Li Chuan's gaze remained steady. He tilted his head slightly, and Su Man stepped forward, kicking the captain down to the ground. Her gun pressed against his forehead. "Speak properly, what you mean just now?"

The captain coughed, lips still curled into a smirk. "You think this over already? The real hunter haven't even show face yet…"

Li Chuan not interested in playing his game. He turned to Shen Qiu, voice calm, "He dragging time. Check outside CCTV. We running out of time."

Shen Qiu's fingers flew over the tablet screen, but just as he tapped into the security system, the display flickered. The next second, the entire system was forcibly shut down, leaving only a single line of blood-red text—

"The hunt has begun."

Shen Qiu's face changed. "Shit. Not good. Our move already kena track. Someone monitoring us."

"Can counter-track them or not?" Li Chuan's tone was steady.

Shen Qiu gritted his teeth. "Trying. But their encryption very gao level, even more solid than 'Youming Database' firewall."

"Less talking, more action." Su Man adjusted her grip on the sniper rifle, scanning their surroundings.

Cheng Mo clenched his combat knife, voice low. "No need play smart. Just grab this fellow and chow. We need intel."

Li Chuan nodded. Just as Su Man was about to secure the captain, the man suddenly let out a low chuckle. "You all… cannot run one."

The next moment, his body twitched violently. Black blood oozed from his mouth, his limbs convulsing before his eyes completely lost focus.

Su Man's face darkened. She crouched down for a quick check before cursing, "Diu… He poisoned himself."

Li Chuan's expression turned even colder.

"Looks like… they prepared better than we thought."

No more time to waste. The team moved swiftly, exiting the ruined building. But the second they stepped outside, sharp sirens blared through the streets. Red beams swept through the wreckage, locking onto them instantly.

Shen Qiu inhaled sharply. "…We kena mark already."

"What meaning?" Su Man's fingers tightened around her sniper rifle.

"Some next-level tracking tech. Infrared scan plus facial recognition. Once the beam lock onto us, all enemy units with access will get our live location." Shen Qiu's voice carried a rare trace of urgency. "Means, wherever we run, they will know."

Cheng Mo scoffed. "Then why still waiting? Move la."

Li Chuan's mind worked fast. His eyes flickered to the UAVs hovering above them—at least ten, each armed with mini-guns, barrels aimed right at them.

"They want us to panic, expose ourselves in open ground, then wipe us out in one shot… But they never expect, we can also fight back." His voice was calm.

Shen Qiu immediately understood. He tapped furiously on his device. "I can hack in, give five-second signal interference."

"Five second enough." Li Chuan's tone was decisive. "Su Man, snipe two drones to create distraction. Cheng Mo, prepare smoke grenades. We use chaos to run."

Su Man didn't hesitate. She raised her rifle—Bang!

The first UAV exploded mid-air, flames lighting up the night.

A second shot—Bang! Another drone spiraled down, crashing into the wreckage below.

"Now!" Shen Qiu slammed the Enter key.

"Interference activated!"

The UAVs' lights flickered. Their system glitched.

Cheng Mo hurled two high-density smoke grenades. Thick white clouds billowed out, covering their movements.

"Move!" Li Chuan commanded. The team bolted towards their escape route.

They had barely cleared the ruins, reaching the fringes of the Bukit Bintang backstreets, when Shen Qiu's screen lit up with an urgent message.

"…We got big problem." Shen Qiu's voice was grim.

Su Man's eyes narrowed. "What now?"

Shen Qiu turned the screen towards them, showing a complex web of predictive routes. "They already foresee our movement. Every exit kena blocked."

Li Chuan's gaze darkened. "That means… our enemy is more than just Falcon Squad."

Shen Qiu exhaled slowly, then uttered a name.

"Could be… 'Nightfall'."

A heavy silence fell.

Su Man and Cheng Mo exchanged sharp looks.

"Nightfall."

The name wasn't one people threw around lightly. It was whispered in underground networks, mentioned only in hushed voices. A shadow organization that supposedly controlled intelligence at the highest levels. If half the rumors were true, they were also the deadliest assassin syndicate in the world.

"If it's really Nightfall," Su Man's tone was serious, "then we not just hunted. We marked for elimination."

Li Chuan's grip tightened around his weapon. His eyes burned with cold determination.

"If they already watching us…" his voice was dangerously calm, "then we better find a way to fight back."
