Andrew's eyes instantly widened in shock, and his breath got caught in his throat as Elio's words made him recall the turmoil he was in with his feelings and his plan to stay away from him.
Andrew blinked his eyes a few times and took in a shaky breath as he thought about what he had done.

He was so immersed in the idea of finding that man that he completely forgot about the situation he was in and the shift of their relationship for a moment.
He was not supposed to meet Elio now. He wasn't prepared to face him yet. He knew he couldn't handle facing him yet. And that conviction was proven now as Elio's presence turned his inside into absolute chaos.
Elio's presence made his heart thunder loudly in his rib cage like it wanted to jump out of it, and warmth filled him. The place he touched tingled and burned. Emotions surged within him like boiling lava.
