Chapter 78 - #78Chapter 78 It's Halloween Again

Just as Tom was troubled by the Quidditch match, a festival of immense importance to Hogwarts students arrived two days earlier than the Quidditch match.

"It's Halloween again, you say, what kind of accident will happen this Halloween?"

In Defense Against the Dark Arts Class, Cassandra, while casting Imperio at the Cornish Pixie in front of her, curiously asked Tom, who was daydreaming beside her.

"Isn't the biggest accident this year right there?"

Tom, coming back to his senses, pointed to Professor Lockhart, who was constantly patrolling among the young Wizards, and replied to Cassandra.

"Professor Lockhart? How could that be? His Defense Against the Dark Arts Class is quite good."

Cassandra felt that the Dark Lord must have been jealous, otherwise, how could he say such an outrageous thing.

Tom just smiled and didn't offer much explanation, casually casting an Imperio at the Pixie in front of him: "Come on, dance for me and liven things up."

Seeing the Pixie in front of him start to dance, Tom couldn't help but ask Cassandra: "Don't you think there are any bleeding hearts protesting how we treat these Pixies?"

"Bleeding hearts? Who?" Cassandra looked at Tom in confusion.

Tom nudged his chin towards a brown-haired girl in Ravenclaw.

"You mean Hermione? How could that be?"

Cassandra looked incredulous, but suddenly she seemed to remember something, revealing an unbelievable expression.

"Wait, no, let me think, Hermione actually did protest to Professor Lockhart."

Hearing the gossip, Tom immediately became interested: "Then what happened afterward? Why was there no more movement?"

"Afterward?"

Cassandra tried hard to recall, and said uncertainly: "Afterward, it's said that Lockhart specifically had a private talk with Hermione about this issue, and from then on, Hermione believed that treating the Pixies this way now was the greatest kindness to them."

"!!!"

As expected of Grindelwald, his silver tongue must be at least Lv10. It's just, I wonder if Naruto could stand a chance against him.

"Oh right, we haven't talked about what accident will happen this Halloween yet. Didn't you say that if Halloween doesn't have some kind of accident, it's not a real Halloween?"

Seeing Cassandra bring the conversation back, Tom felt like he had been severely stabbed by his own boomerang.

The Basilisk had become his pet; how would he know what would happen? With his prophecy talent, it was really too hard for me, Fat Tiger.

This matter should be brought to someone who is patrolling the classroom.

Tom brainstormed for a moment before hesitantly saying: "How about I release my little snake to liven up the festival for everyone?"

Tom's Basilisk bracelet seemed to sense something, unconsciously shaking, scaring Tom into quickly reinforcing it on the spot.

Cassandra glanced at the bracelet on Tom's right hand, her face serious: "Please don't do that, Professor Dumbledore is still here. You don't want the Basilisk to become a collection in Professor Snape's materials room the next day, do you?"

"Then how about I use a corpse-controlling spell to create a dance troupe to perform for everyone?"

This time, before Cassandra could speak, a voice came from behind her.

"Are you planning to transform into a necromancer, Tom? Besides, Dumbledore has already invited a skeleton band to perform. Your idea is outdated. If you have this time, why not consider your Quidditch debut? I'm really looking forward to it."

"Oh, and a suggestion for you, if you're really bored, you might as well go to the Ravenclaw common room and see, you might find something."

After speaking, Grindelwald stopped wasting words with Tom and began to slowly wander among the young Wizards again.

"When did Lockhart get a prophecy talent? This isn't reflected in his books, it's not like his style."

Facing Cassandra's curiosity, Tom merely replied indifferently: "Perhaps he just returned from Chernobyl and mutated."

"?"

Cassandra apparently hadn't heard of Chernobyl, and seeing Tom's finger tapping the table off and on, she didn't feel comfortable asking more.

After a moment of silence, Tom suddenly cursed: "I really hate charlatans!"

"So, are we going?" Cassandra asked cautiously.

"Yes, why not? Professor Lockhart, at least compared to certain noseless ones, still has a lot of integrity."

Tom looked at the person who had returned to the podium with a gritted-teeth expression, which earned him a faint smile from Grindelwald.

"What is it that decreases every day but never disappears?"

"Time."

Taking advantage of the Halloween feast, two Slytherin young snakes passed the Eagle's riddle and slipped into the Ravenclaw common room.

"Cassandra, out of all of Hogwarts, the Ravenclaw common room is the easiest to enter. Do you think Cedric comes to Cho Chang's dormitory every day to sneak in?"

Tom casually asked Cassandra while surveying the empty common room, which was deserted because everyone had gone to the feast.

"Please don't project your thoughts onto others. Diggory wouldn't do that. Wait, are you saying Diggory and Chang are a couple?"

Cassandra, having spent a long time with Tom, immediately grasped the juicy gossip in Tom's words, but this time it was Tom's turn to be surprised.

"You didn't know? I thought you would. Of course, besides Cedric and Cho, you should also include Harry and Ginny, that way the relationship will be complete."

"A love square?" Cassandra exclaimed, only able to say that their circle was truly chaotic.

"But what exactly are we looking for? It's said that there's a separate library in the Ravenclaw common room. Do you think Professor Lockhart, being from Ravenclaw, might be referring to that?"

Putting away her gossipy thoughts, Cassandra seriously asked Tom.

"That's very Ravenclaw, unfortunately, Lockhart isn't a true Ravenclaw."

Tom shook his head, his gaze fixed on what was in front of him.

Cassandra followed Tom's gaze: "The Ravenclaw statue, what about it?"

"I always feel like this statue of Ravenclaw looks off, Cassandra, what do you think?"

Cassandra listened, then observed the statue with Tom. A moment later, she exclaimed loudly: "I know! The diadem! The statue of Lady Ravenclaw is missing her diadem."

Tom followed Cassandra's words and examined it, and indeed it was true. He subconsciously pulled out the Ravenclaw diadem from his storage space.

Just as Tom was about to place the diadem on the statue, a sharp cry interrupted his action: "What are you planning to do again, Tom Riddle!"

The Ravenclaw ghost, The Grey Lady, or rather, Helena Ravenclaw, who had been avoiding Tom, stood between Tom and the statue.

Tom dangled the diadem in his hand: "Of course, I'm helping Lady Ravenclaw with her coronation."

"No, you can't do that, back then..."

Tom, knowing that Helena would most likely bring up her experience of being deceived by Lord Voldemort, had no patience to argue with her. In Helena's disbelieving gaze, he walked straight through her body and placed the diadem on the statue.

The newly crowned statue seemed to be activated, emitting a soft glow, and a phantom figure gradually formed in the common room.

Although he had never seen her in person, Tom recognized the identity of the phantom figure immediately.

"Rowena Ravenclaw!"
