The day Rhane came home to Kali was not a beautiful one. It was a gray day. Maybe not for others but at least for Kali.
Kali had already been awake for hours. She always woke early. If she was going to serve enough men to please her mother then she started out earlier.
Her mother had been right. Kali scrubbed her body wishing her skin and life would leave with her dead soul.
That day in the dungeon. What could a seven year old possibly know about hope? Kali had given up the next day when hunger and loneliness nearly drowned her entire existence.
She broke. And she broke so bad. It made her realize she wasn't as strong as she claimed to be.
