Jenna whispered, her eyes darting around the hallway. Percy had clearly told her, Rhane was outside. Each step Jenna took came with a thud from her heart. She was excited, at the same time scared. What if they were caught? But also, what if they weren't?
Rhane had promised to see her, and his eyes held a lot of promises each time they stole a glance during the gathering.
"Rha-ne..." she whispered again, afraid of getting caught. Taking the excuse to change her dress was too simple, but Lady Rachel agreed, to Jenna's surprise.
"Jenna! This is the best day of my life!! What about you?" One of the maidens, half-drunk, waved at Jenna.
Jenna halted, pretending to be having the same fun the girl spoke of. "It is...haha."
"I can't wait to..." The young woman slurred, staggering back inside the main hall. "We are...Jenna..."
