Jenna was half asleep when the carriage pulled over, coming to a halt. She rubbed her eyes tiredly, shifting her head to the side. When the door opened, bringing in more light inside the carriage, Jenna opened her eyes fully.
"We are here, My Lady," the coachman announced. With a stifled yawn, Jenna acknowledged him with a hum before stepping out of the carriage. It was easier for her to walk around in the dress now that she had ripped it.
For all the stress throughout the night, Jenna was glad she ripped the damned dress apart. All she needed at the moment was to have a clean bath, a new dress, and a wide bed to sleep in. She felt aches at every joint in her body. Staying awake for a whole day was enough to do that to her.
"You're Lady Jenna, from the house of Brown." The woman at the gate stopped Jenna with a short cane.
Jenna staggered back as it came as a surprise, but she still nodded. "Yes—"
