I was beyond pissed.
No matter how many times I replayed the last few minutes in my head, it still didn't make any sense. Elyra had pushed me, not accidentally or because she lost her balance. She had deliberately shoved me into this room and locked the door behind me. Out of everyone I had met since arriving at Shadowvale, she was the one person I trusted. She was the person who helped me when Serenessa cursed my hand. She was the person who walked me to class when everyone stared at me like I didn't belong. She was the person who stood beside me when other students treated me like garbage, and now somehow she had betrayed me.
The realization hurt far more than I wanted to admit.
