"You guys can go train by yourselves, I'll join next time," I tell both Karin and Kabuto as I want to visit Danzo.
The day I claim my final subordinate of my choosing.
I did give him three favours after all so if I don't get to choose one more person then I will call bullshit.
Heading back to my room, I prepared myself with a quick shower and fresh clothes.
'Nothing beats a cold shower when it's needed.'
Walking through the hallways while humming I start to think for a bit.
Danzo will probably ask me where I want my next subordinate to be from as he most definitely has a lot of options for me. I mean the guy pulled up four documents on young Uzumaki's locations and knows that a kid has mud release when the kid himself didn't know.
Well, I'm sure it was because of his family lineage but you get the point, if he needed some kids to turn into soldiers he would have already by now but I assume he has all the forces he needs.
To be honest, the location I'm gonna choose has to be Kiri no doubt about it.
No matter what anyone says, Kiri if their kage wasn't put in a genjutsu would 100% be the second strongest village with some of the most broken kekkei genkai.
Fucking Haku can make people believe he has space-time ninjutsu with ice while Kimimaro is 2v1 Lee and Gaara in which Gaara could make a whole-ass sand tsunami covering the whole open field.
On top of it, this battle was even probably winnable for Kimimaro as well if he wasn't dying from his disease. Although debatable as he was using the cursemark at the expense of his life he was going to die either way.
I know they are prodigies and shit but imagine the warring state eras where prodigies were popping by left and right.
They also got shark people but we don't talk about them.
Making my way through the Shimura's main compound building I enter the Clan head's room for the second time this month.
"Ojisan, I want a third one!" I shout as I enter the place
I'm being pretty disrespectful right now but it's actually me bantering with Danzo. This man has been annoying me in shogi recently with him even refusing to play chess as he smiles at me, the audacity this man has.
"Hello Raiden, how has your day been so far?"
"It's been pretty good, my subordinates have been training diligently while improving on their skill sets," I reply making Danzo nod.
--POV Danzo--
While stamping a few more papers I hear Raiden's reply to my question.
Quite the smart boy he has become over the years, he will become someone I will need of when he turns 18 as he needs to eliminate a minor few villages. With his strength I predict he will become a kage level shinobi without any problems.
By that time with my planning I should be Hokage by then if Orochimaru gets his petty revenge on Hiruzen.
I think I should tell him about my plan with the Uchihas as I already seeped it into his mind for a few years now how the Uchiha has to go to save the village which is true.
Their eyes cursed with trauma, can never be beneficial for the village in any way other than being soldiers.
But recently over the past few years, they have been pushing their luck.
It's better if they are gone for good and with their eyes fuelling my power even more, I should be able to secure a surprise kill on Hiruzen if he doesn't get finished off by Orochimaru.
"Raiden you know for a while now how I've been detesting the Uchiha yes?" I ask him as I change the subject.
Raiden hearing this starts to nod while tensing up.
'Nervous now eh?'
"What do you think of them?"
A normal question without expecting much.
"One of the founders of Konoha and a noble clan? Their eyes are signs of trauma and strength." Raiden simply answers. Nodding as his words they were simple but true in all the senses of what he should know.
"You see I want the Uchiha gone and I've been removing their authority for a long time now which has alerted them, but the night of the kyubi incident was when everything fell into place."
I say making Raidens eyes widen.
"They have attempted two coups now to overthrow the village. One after the Ghost of the Uchiha defected and when the Second Hokage died. But without the combined power of the Senju to offset them anymore, letting their powers grow is dangerous."
Raiden hearing me nods.
It was simple.
Just don't interact with them too much but making some connections here and there is fine. Just avoiding any political problems for now.
"But let's talk about the real reason you came here for..."
"I'm here to get my final subordinate as I want a third for the already two I have. I want this person to have a kekkei genkai or at the least good potential, ages span from 8-11 and must come from somewhere in Kiri." Raiden says in a neutral tone.
This was interesting...
There's a girl who's report I got a few years ago who had a kekkei genkai. Wasn't much use because her parents were normal civilians, not worth investing too much potential.
Still, she should at least be Tokubetsu Jounin at the maximum.
Chunin a the minimum.
"I recently got a report yesterday on a little girl who got rejected by her town near Kiri if you are interested," I asked Raiden curious if he was interested.
"I'm interested." He immediately responds.
Using Anbu code to tell Rat to bring me the documents of the girl, I proceed to clear out my desk.
Rat soon after I finish making space on my desk hands me a paper with the girl's description.
'Crystal release eh, I remember fighting one of those users in the second war.'
"Guren, no last name and is the last known person with crystal release. Age 9."
--POV Raiden--
Hearing the name Guren I suddenly realise who it is.
'Damn wasn't she someone from Orochimaru's collection of orphaned prodigies?'
Walking up to the desk I grab the papers and look through her information.
'Being abused by villagers, damn. That's worse than Naruto's situation, at least Naruto doesn't get any physical abuse but she gets hit for being "different" than others.'
"I choose her Ojisan," I say making up my mind.
'Wait if Karin is a future M and with my knowledge of Guren, isn't she an M too?' I think to myself not understanding what I'm getting my future self into.
"Instead of one of my agents going themselves though I want you to go with one of them to retreive your subordinate. The main reason for this is I want you to get your first kill and eliminate a bandit camp all by yourself." Danzo says making me get a contemplating look.
A test of sorts.
There are a lot of pros to this as it allows me to get my first kill, some experience with planning out an attack and a better influence over Guren.
The cons would be in this situation if I'm ready to kill and that there is always a chance of me dying.
'I should be able to avoid any unnecessary trouble and kill a bandit camp if I play safe and not overestimate myself. Danzo wouldn't put me in too much danger.'
I swiftly agree.
"You will have 30 minutes to prepare." Hearing this I nod, with a hidden frown.
'This was pretty random and unexpected but what can I do? I mean I wouldn't wanna miss out on a potential kage-level subordinate, would I now?'
Guren was at least an Elite Jounin combatant clearly countering Kakashi and holding Naruto off quite well. Quite the move set she had with dragons that could let her travel at an extremely fast pace and be used as an attack.
Finishing the conversation I make my way back to my room to prepare my items.
I had three storage seals.
One scroll on my right leg which had my rations.
And two storage seals on my two gloves.
The right glove had my chakra metal Ninjato. The left had all the 30 high quality shuriken, 6 high quality kunai, 5 solider pills and 2 smoke bombs.
Obviously, I spent some money to get the sharpest and most expensive metal-quality tools.
I also can't forget my blank mask though.
To sum it all up I'm quite prepared for this mission, or in other words Bird got me everything I needed.
These gloves are a lifesaver.
In Karin's spare time when practising fuinjutsu, she made two storage seals on a glove. One of the seals was on the palm where the ninjato was stored.
Quite a useful trick that I will gift my subordinates to make them even more "indebted" to me.
The 30 minutes passed by faster than I expected. Bird will end up telling my two subordinates of my absence sadly.
After leaving my house a built man with brown hair and black eyes flickered on the way to me. His name was Sloth and I remembered build as he appeared in front of me kneeling.
"Shimura-sama today we will retrieve your next subordinate, I will make sure to escort you." Sloth says in a neutral voice. I doubt he's the only one here though, there has to be more monitoring us incase of a accident.
Unless he's a Jounin then things are a bit different.
Yeah make fun of Jounin's but Kage level shinobi if they want you dead, will see to it. These guys are as good as you can get for a body guard.
"I'm ready, lets get a move on." I coldly reply as Sloth puts his hand on my shoulder, body flickering us out of the village.
We first appeared in a tunnel then after that we were suddenly directly next to the outer village walls.
'They must have a hidden tunnel or something to leave and go as they wish.'
Sloth and I spent the first half of the first day running towards the water country border to head to a small town where Guren is located, Sloth and I just travelled at moderate to mid-Chunin speeds with me needing to rest on some occasions.
"Sloth what is the town called." I asked as the whole day has been spent running and I'm getting quite bored.
"The town is called Narawara and is located near the outer borders of water country territory."
'Interesting, there should be a few rogues around that area at least.'
I'm currently thinking about how I want my first kill to go.
Kunai to the heart?
One on one?
Kill him stealthily?
I have many options but I think I will opt for the Ninjato assassination kill. It will guarantee my safety over getting into a blown-out fight will multiple bandits which isn't ideal.
We travelled until it was night and spotted a bandit camp near Narawara town.
'I don't have any jutsus to mask myself. I'll just scout the parameter and kill the scouts on the towers.'
This camp has one watch tower which is about 9 meters tall while five other tents surround a campfire making a kind of circular shape with the watch tower being kind of distant from the rest.
My first target will be the watch tower for obvious reasons, I don't want to kill people while someone is watching from above and can signal for everyone else to go gang up on me so this is a no-brainer move.
After signalling to Sloth that I'm about to begin I silently wait for the right moment to kill the bandit when he's standing still.
There are three bandits currently watching the outer area of the camp so I waited for those three to be too far from the tower to notice a kunai swishing through the air.
The bandit not knowing what is about to come his sits down on the bench in the watch tower proceeds to look up at the sky.
Seeing the opportunity I take my kunai and start to breathe in and out.
*Swoosh*
Throwing the kunai at blurring speeds at my target it was piercing the air,
It was too late...
*Sqwelp*
*Thud*
The kunai hitting the target, pierces the bandit's head and into the brain. An instant ill which was much needed. Thankfully due to the distance the falling bandit couldn't be heard as everything went on as normal.
'One down, who knows how many more to go.' I say to myself as my heart starts to beat at a fast pace.
It was my first kill and my body knew it.
Not like it would stop me.
'I need to keep my composure and with that everything will be fine.' I say this trying to cheer myself up.
Now I just need to eliminate the three outer bandits next till I can target one tent at a time.
It's all about timing.
So let's get this over with.
