The curious state of Allen, the 'charm-less demon' who seems both universally known and utterly anonymous, perhaps begins with the city of Asura.

The royal capital, Asura, where Allen, Ariel, Derrick Redbat, and Isolte have spent a considerable amount of time, is similar to a Roa City expanded dozens of times over.

Such a vast difference in area? Why say it's similar?

Because it, too, is situated upon a series of rolling hills and mountains.

And there's another similarity with Roa: the center of power in this city is also at its highest point, the summit of this hilly terrain.

It's also the first place in Asura to be touched by the sun's rays. From afar, under the sunlight, crisscrossing mountain springs and streams appear like silver ribbons adorning the entire palace complex and pavilions, sparkling and gleaming brilliantly, resplendent as silver.

The grandeur of the Silver Palace isn't just in its whiteness.

It's also enormous.

It occupies almost two-tenths of the entire royal capital of Asura, surrounded by a ring of towering walls, enclosing Asura's palace in a pocket-like shape, separating the palace from other areas.

So, as Sylphy asked when she first heard about these walls: Is Asura a city composed of concentric circles, with the inner city for the royal family and the outer city for the common people?

The truth is quite different.

There are a total of five concentric walls surrounding the Silver Palace in Asura.

Five concentric circles of varying diameters, nested layer upon layer, divide Asura into six distinct zones, from inside to outside, from high to low. These are:

The Royal Palace, the Noble District, the Free Zone, the Commoner District, the Adventurer Resettlement Zone, and the Outer Royal City.

The Royal Palace is the Silver Palace. It occupies two-tenths of Asura's total area with the sparsest population density. The armed force responsible for its security is the Imperial Guard, directly subordinate to His Majesty the King.

The Noble District consists of the clusters of buildings belonging to the upper nobility, encircling the Royal Palace walls.

This is the type of place where if you randomly grabbed an unassuming passerby on the street, pressed them down, and engaged in some 'intimate activity,' any child born would certainly not have dark skin. Of course, such behavior is not encouraged, as you would likely be killed by a patrolling knight.

Why knights? Not street patrol? Because the street patrol is only found in the Commoner District, Adventurer Resettlement Zone, and Outer Royal City. The Knights' Order, which demands both martial prowess and family background, is undoubtedly the preferred bodyguard for the royal family and nobility in the capital.

This is only a small part of the reason.

The larger reason is that for the Free Zone below the Noble District, the street patrol, with its low martial power, control, and prestige—akin to mere street police—truly finds it 'difficult to manage.'

The Free Zone didn't get its name because everyone there was named Allen. Originally, the Free Zone was specifically established by the Asura Royal Capital's nobility to accommodate individuals who, despite having no noble status, possessed significant 'influence.'

For example:

The Holy Milis Church, where the Milis Temple is concentrated; the Water God Style main dojo, where successive Water Gods have resided; and the Magic University, whose deans and professors are mostly external hires.

The Holy Milis Church's placement was entirely based on political considerations. The reason dates back over four hundred years to the Laplace War. The Laplace War lasted for decades, and the Asura Kingdom only gradually stabilized after being forged in the fires of war. Under the rule of King Cavarrius, it slowly became one of the two most powerful nations in the world.

Who was the other nation?

The Milis Holy Empire, bordering the southern part of the Demon Continent. (Would some kind brother be willing to share a map with me and my friends?)

So, does that mean the Milis Holy Empire was also a human kingdom that rose in the crucible of war, during what amounted to the Third Human-Demon War?

Not quite. They weren't involved in the Laplace War at all in the beginning, which is strange. Logically, the Milis Continent borders the Demon Continent, and the founder of the Milis Holy Empire, Saint Milis, was the human who established the capital, carving a Demon Lord with one sword in the First Human-Demon War and forging the Holy Sword path.

As Laplace, who inherited the Demon Dragon King's malice towards 'humans,' why would you ignore this ancient enemy of the demon race and instead attack the more distant Asura? What kind of ridiculous long-distance attack, close-range diplomacy is that?

The 'history written by the Human God' truly states this: (The Human God's role and motives in the Human-Demon War will be revealed later in Roxy's Dream Special Feature.)

Laplace heard that the Milis Holy Empire's barriers and Holy Knight Order were too powerful.

He instructed the Beast Race Alliance in the Great Forest to provide subtle support and contain Milis, and the Sea Race to blockade the seas.

He decided to first rush the Central Continent, beyond the Lingus Sea.

The war raged, blackening the skies and shaking the earth. Laplace leveled every country on the Central Continent except Asura, finally invading Asura. After the King, the First Prince, and the Second Prince had all perished, the Third Prince, King Cavarrius, ascended the throne. He leveraged his powerful charisma to invite the Seven Heroes, including Dragon King Perugius, North God Kalman, and Dragon God Urupen, to participate in the war.

The Seven Heroes then set out to persuade the Beast Race. The Beast Race gleefully betrayed the demon race and joined Asura's side. Together, they went to Milis to request aid.

Later, during Laplace's decisive final assault on Asura, the Milis Heavenly Knights suddenly appeared, joining the battle. Along with the Seven Great Heroes, they completed the subjugation of Laplace and killed him.

After this, they finally signed a 'non-aggression pact' with the cautious Demon Lord Badigadi.

Okay, combining the above reading comprehension, what did King Cavarrius fear most?

---1 Laplace.

---2 The Milis Empire.

A very simple question.

Laplace was dead, so it was the latter.

King Cavarrius was worried that the theocratic Milis Church, with its deep roots in the capital, would cause a major incident by spreading its faith. Yet, he also had to show respect for this 'ally' who had been so reluctant to help in the Laplace War, requiring three visits to persuade them.

What to do? Either keep them under close surveillance, or settle them in a secure, moderate location.

King Cavarrius leaned towards designating an area specifically for the Church at the border between the Noble District and the Silver Palace. This would also conveniently place them where the Knights' Order and Imperial Guard could keep an eye on them.

If anything unexpected happened, it would be easy to quickly ensure it was no longer an unexpected event.

But a problem arose in doing so: the Milis Church was particularly unique. It possessed a widespread popularity among believers and had excellent public support during the Second Human-Demon War. No one disliked these warriors who were natural healers.

So, the plan to keep them under close surveillance naturally fell through without success. They had no choice but to move their settlement further out, establishing an area between the Noble District and the Commoner District specifically for these 'outsiders.'
