In the classroom, red, white, and brown heads huddled together, staring at the newly drafted "class schedule."
Original Schedule:
Morning: Swordsmanship – Ghislaine
Afternoon: Free Time
Evening: Etiquette – Edna
New Additions:
Attack Magic – Rudy
Water God Style Swordsmanship – Allen
Healing Magic – Sylphie
Arithmetic – To be decided
Reading/Writing – To be decided
History – To be decided
Edna stood nearby, watching Allen with a gentle expression as he observed the "chaotic battlefield" before him.
Eris was currently dragging Rudy's name with an arrow toward Sylphie's, only for Rudy to snatch the pen back and rewrite his own name.
This tug-of-war had repeated several times.
And from Eris' twitching eyebrows, clenched fists, tapping foot, and the crushing grip on her pen, it was clear her patience was running thin.
But Rudy, completely oblivious, was locked in battle—practically wearing a "death wish" on his face.
Edna sighed.
"With so many new instructors, I'm concerned about fitting everything into the daily schedule. Stacking all lessons in the afternoon would be impractical. Additionally, the young master mentioned that, despite your roles as tutors, you're all still quite young yourselves—meaning I'll also need to oversee your etiquette lessons. Are you listening?"
Allen blinked.
"Yes. I'm just worried someone might get murdered."
"…?"
"Never mind. Please continue."
"As it stands, the only full-fledged 'teachers' are Ghislaine and myself. So, I'd like you to take the lead in reorganizing the schedule—especially since etiquette lessons require everyone's attendance."
Allen glanced at Ghislaine, who stood beside Edna, expressionless.
Though she was physically present, her gaze was fixed intently on Eris' hand, as if analyzing the exact moment the young lady would "strike."
She wasn't a troublemaker by nature—but in some ways, that made her even worse.
A troublemaker just wanted chaos.
Ghislaine? She was waiting to see how far Eris' swordsmanship had progressed—or, in other words, how thoroughly Rudy would be annihilated.
Allen cleared his throat and turned back to Edna.
"One."
"Hm?"
"Ghislaine should at least join the reading and writing classes—as a student. Arithmetic too. So technically, you're the only full instructor."
Edna paused, eyeing Ghislaine—who was twice her size—before nodding in agreement.
"That's a fair point."
At that moment, Allen grabbed Eris' raised fist before it could descend upon Rudy, pulled out a chair for Edna, and sat down to revise the schedule.
Rudy, seeing an opportunity, tried to claim the seat beside Allen—only for Eris to yank him away by the collar.
"You!"
Rudy glared, but Eris merely raised an eyebrow.
"Got a problem with that?!"
He opened his mouth to argue—then remembered.
This was Boreas territory.
She was the young lady of the house.
And he? A hired tutor—the only one she didn't particularly like.
If he got kicked out and returned to the village alone, Paul would never let him live it down.
(Even if Allen probably wouldn't allow that to happen. But given how avoidant Allen had been yesterday, it was better not to cause trouble.)
"…Fine. You win."
Grumbling, Rudy moved to the other side of the table—only for Sylphie to gently push his chair away with a gust of wind magic.
"Sorry, Rudy~"
She smiled apologetically.
"I'd like to sit here. Is that okay?"
Rudy blinked, then nodded dumbly.
It wasn't the act itself that surprised him—Sylphie had always been attached to Allen.
What caught him off guard was…
Something about her had changed overnight.
Before, her eyes had always been glued to Allen—yet whenever he looked back, she'd tremble and avert her gaze unless it was something urgent.
And when making requests, she could speak normally to him, but when it came to Allen, she'd struggle to express herself directly—especially after arriving in Roa, where her uncertainty often overshadowed her words.
But now?
From breakfast to this schedule discussion, Sylphie's focus was entirely on what she wanted to do, no longer fixated on Allen.
Before he could ponder further, the sound of a pen being set down snapped him back to reality.
Allen had finished the new schedule.
Rudy leaned forward to look—
And his face froze in horror.
Revised Schedule:
Morning:
Arithmetic – Rudy
Reading/Writing – Rudy
Afternoon:
Magic – Rudy/Sylphie
Swordsmanship – Ghislaine/Allen
Evening:
Etiquette – Edna
History – Rudy
Rudy's eyes slowly traveled from "Arithmetic" to "Reading/Writing" to "History," each followed by his own name.
He looked up at Allen in disbelief—only to find the latter smirking at Ghislaine and Eris' reactions.
Teaching literacy and math to the most educationally neglected noble family in the kingdom?
If Roxy were here, she'd be stuck with the job.
But since she wasn't…
What better candidate than his dear "best friend"?
Perfectly reasonable.
