Chapter 465: Delivered to My Door
Even though Beerus had spoken with such certainty, Champa still didn't believe a word he said.
"Let's go, Vados."
Champa didn't bother dealing with Beerus's deliberate taunting any further. He turned and left the Grand Zeno's palace with his attendant angel.
On the way back to Universe Six, Beerus's warnings resurfaced in Champa's mind.
Although he disliked his brother—always competing over everything—the tone Beerus used earlier didn't sound like a prank or an attempt to scare him for fun.
Could Beerus actually have been telling the truth?
Doubt crept into Champa's heart.
"Vados."
He suddenly spoke.
"Yes, Lord Champa?"
"Do you think what Beerus said is true?"
"It's hard to say, Lord Champa."
"However, while you and the others were speaking with the Grand Zeno earlier, Whis and I exchanged a few words privately. I received some information."
"Oh? Information about Uchiha Dali?"
"Yes, Lord Champa."
Hearing that, Champa fell silent.
The uneasiness inside him grew stronger.
Could Beerus truly not have been lying?
He asked again, "Vados, what did Whis tell you?"
"He told me that Beerus learned from the Oracle Fish that he has two great rivals: one is the Super Saiyan God, and the other is Uchiha Dali. Because of this, Beerus challenged Uchiha Dali."
"The result was unexpected, Lord Champa."
Vados's words made Champa's heart jolt again.
He was beginning to realize he might really be walking into disaster.
But he kept up his casual front. "Let me guess—Beerus defeated Uchiha Dali?"
"No, Lord Champa. Neither Beerus nor Uchiha Dali used their full power at the time. They fought to a draw."
"But afterward, Beerus asked Whis to train him."
"According to Whis, this is the first time in hundreds of millions of years that Beerus has trained so seriously."
"Oh? Beerus actually went off to train secretly??"
Champa was genuinely shocked.
Despite their differences, he and Beerus shared one thing: laziness.
Neither liked training.
That was why, despite equal talent, they had never been able to truly defeat one another over countless years.
And yet Beerus had suddenly chosen to train seriously?
"Vados, could Beerus have done all of that because of Uchiha Dali?"
Champa still refused to believe it.
He kept pretending to be relaxed.
...
While Champa and Vados were on their way, things on Uchiha Dali's side were reaching their conclusion.
Dragon God Zalama's energy was indeed immense.
Beyond what anyone could imagine.
Uchiha Dali's god-tier devouring technique could normally absorb the equivalent of dozens or even hundreds of planets' worth of energy in an instant without any strain.
Even the divine members of the Ōtsutsuki Clan had fallen to him easily.
Yet his battle with Zalama had lasted over an hour and still hadn't ended.
Though Zalama's energy had already been reduced to less than a tenth, the struggle continued. He was still trying desperately to resist Uchiha Dali's absorption.
"You're the strongest opponent I've ever faced. I'd say even the Grand Zeno's guards aren't as powerful as you, Lord Zalama."
"But it's over now. Thank you for the gift. I'll remember it forever."
Uchiha Dali smiled and unleashed another burst of absorption.
In an instant, the last remnants of Zalama's energy—along with his entire being—were completely consumed.
When the absorption finished, Uchiha Dali felt as if he had been reborn.
He knew the power he now possessed surpassed that of ordinary angels entirely.
Whis, Vados—beings like them were no different from destroyers or regular gods in his eyes now.
Even the Grand Zeno's guard, the one who had once almost overwhelmed him, probably couldn't beat him anymore.
"Full godhood and an unmatched reservoir of energy…"
"I wonder if I can defeat the Grand Zeno now?"
Uchiha Dali thought silently.
Then his expression shifted.
His observation ability revealed two powerful signatures approaching at high speed.
The scene rose naturally in his mind.
Seeing the two figures, a playful smile touched his lips.
"The Destroyer God of Universe Six—Champa—and the angel, Vados."
"Heh…"
He didn't leave.
He stayed exactly where he was and waited.
Moments later, Vados and Champa arrived at full cosmic speed.
As soon as they appeared, Champa scanned the area. Seeing only Uchiha Dali, he was surprised.
He immediately demanded, "Uchiha Dali, where is Dragon God Zalama?"
"Him?"
"I've already absorbed him completely."
Uchiha Dali spoke calmly.
Champa's expression shifted sharply. "You actually dared lay hands on Zalama?"
"Why not?"
"Uchiha Dali, you've got some nerve."
"I'm under orders to stop you. The Grand Zeno wants you to cease all actions against Lord Zalama. If you've absorbed him, then release him immediately!"
Champa issued his command.
He still viewed himself as the superior high-dimensional god, and Uchiha Dali—coming from a lower dimension—should by principle be beneath him.
"Sorry, I can't do that."
Uchiha Dali refused without hesitation.
"Hmm? So you intend to defy the Grand Zeno's command?"
"If that's the case, then I won't hold back, Uchiha Dali!"
Champa still didn't believe it.
He didn't think Beerus could lose to this young upstart.
So now he wanted to test it himself—see whether Uchiha Dali was really as strong as Beerus claimed.
"You walked right into this yourself, Lord Champa."
"In that case, don't blame me."
Uchiha Dali grinned wickedly.
His response shocked both Champa and Vados.
Neither expected Uchiha Dali to answer that boldly.
"Lord Champa, you must be careful—"
Vados had barely finished her warning when Uchiha Dali suddenly struck.
