On the Dragon Abyss Boat, Chen Yuan spent ten unforgettable days. Whether it was the leisurely moments of fishing under the sun on the deck or the dreamlike experience of diving into the ocean to admire the underwater scenery, everything helped him forget his worries and feel relaxed both inside and out.
After these ten days, when they returned to the dock to restock, Chen Yuan's bounty notice was finally answered.
At the dock, Chen Yuan met the captain who had accepted his bounty. He was a robust man with a weathered face, his skin bronzed by the sea breeze. Despite his age, he looked strong and healthy.
The captain was enthusiastic and confidently assured Chen Yuan, "Listen, young man, getting to Sea God Island isn't easy. You have to pass through several dangerous sea zones. Along the way, you might encounter thousand-year sea soul beasts, or even ten-thousand-year ones. That's why you need a sturdy ship and an experienced captain. My ship, the Sea Demon, is covered in steel. Not even a ten-thousand-year soul beast can capsize it. And I, Haider, am one of the most renowned captains in Vast Sea City."
"Hire me, and I'll get you safely to Sea God Island. But the fee won't be small—it'll cost you at least 5,000 gold soul coins."
Chen Yuan observed the man. From the name of his ship, his own name, and the greed in his eyes when he mentioned money, Chen Yuan could tell one thing: this man was a pirate.
However, Chen Yuan didn't mind if he was a pirate. As long as he took them to Sea God Island honestly, Chen Yuan might spare his life.
So Chen Yuan agreed but added a subtle threat, "Money isn't an issue. As long as you can take us to Sea God Island. But Captain Haider, if you don't actually know the location of Sea God Island and are just trying to deceive us, be careful—I'll smash your ship to pieces."
Haider inwardly scoffed. He looked at Chen Yuan, who appeared to be no older than eighteen. At that age, he couldn't possibly have more than Soul Elder-level strength. How could he possibly smash his ship? It seemed like empty bravado.
But outwardly, Haider was full of enthusiasm, "Young man, don't worry. If we don't reach Sea God Island, you won't need to smash my ship—I'll do it myself and never sail again."
After settling the agreement, Chen Yuan paid a deposit of 500 gold soul coins, and they arranged to meet at the dock the next morning to set sail.
On their way back to Vast Sea City, Dugu Yan quietly reminded Chen Yuan, "That Haider guy was looking at us with greed in his eyes. He's definitely not a good person. Are we really going to take his ship?"
Chen Yuan smiled indifferently, "I know. He's probably a pirate. But as long as he can take us to Sea God Island, it doesn't matter whose ship it is."
"However, once we're on board, Yan Yan, keep an eye out for any poison in our food. Also, if they really try anything, don't hold back. Prepare a poison that won't take effect immediately but will make them suffer terribly. When it does take effect, it should be strong enough to kill even a Soul King."
"Let him take us to Sea God Island. Once we arrive, these pirates will be useless. Killing them would be doing the world a favor."
Dugu Yan's eyes narrowed, her smile sending a chill down one's spine. She nodded lightly, "No problem. If they make the first move, I won't hesitate to use poison."
After returning to Vast Sea City, they did some more shopping and then rested at a hotel for the night.
The next morning, at the dock, Chen Yuan and the four girls boarded Haider's massive ship, the Sea Demon, at his invitation.
Standing at the bow of the ship, Haider laughed heartily and shouted, "Boys, weigh anchor! We're setting sail for Sea God Island!"
With that, the steel ship shuddered slightly and then smoothly sailed away from the dock, heading out to sea.
For the first few days, life on the ship was uneventful. Captain Haider and his crew were all polite and respectful, though their enthusiasm seemed a bit forced.
However, things took a turn on the fifth day. After breakfast, Chen Yuan and the girls went to the deck for some fresh air.
Haider and his crew surrounded them with smiles. Haider asked, "Young man, how's the food? Satisfied?"
Chen Yuan nodded calmly, "It's fine. But Captain Haider, it's been five days. How much longer until we reach Sea God Island?"
Haider burst into laughter, "Sea God Island? You think you're worthy of going to Sea God Island? A bunch of inland soul masters like you, seeking the guidance of the Sea God?"
As he finished speaking, the crew erupted into mocking laughter, "Hahaha… No one who boards the Sea Demon ever leaves in one piece. That pretty boy has been getting on my nerves. I'll take those beautiful women right in front of him!"
"Hey, I think the pretty boy is quite attractive too. You take the women, and I'll take him!"
"You're disgusting, Harrick. Same as always…"
The group laughed shamelessly, but after a while, they noticed that Chen Yuan, Dugu Yan, Ning Rongrong, and the others showed no signs of collapsing. They began to feel uneasy.
Captain Haider cursed, "What's going on? Did you forget to drug them? No matter, we'll deal with them ourselves."
With that, Haider summoned his martial soul. Three yellow and two purple soul rings rose around him—he was a Soul King.
Chen Yuan glanced at him and then at the others before speaking coldly, "I gave you a chance. Since you've chosen this, Blood Demon's Wrath!"
Chen Yuan activated one of the two skills of his Blood Demon Left Leg Bone, forming a blood-red orb. Under its glow, Haider and his crew clutched their chests and collapsed.
Their blood flowed backward, cutting off circulation and paralyzing their bodies. Their hearts were on the verge of bursting under the relentless pressure.
Chen Yuan turned to Dugu Yan and said, "Yan Yan, teach them a lesson."
Dugu Yan's smile was bright, but her eyes were filled with killing intent. She reached into her Ruyi Hundred Treasure Pouch and pulled out a black snake over a meter long and as thick as a baby's wrist. It had a purple mark on its head, giving it a sinister appearance.
The snake darted out like lightning, landing on Haider's body. It slithered up to his neck and bit him. Then, under his terrified gaze, it moved on to the other crew members.
Dugu Yan explained lightly, "Little Black has a neurotoxin. It won't kill immediately. First, it makes you feel unbearably cold, no matter how many blankets you wrap yourself in. Gradually, your nerves will die, starting with your limbs and then your heart. Throughout the process, you'll remain fully conscious, feeling every moment of your death."
As she spoke, the snake injected its venom into each crew member before slithering back to Dugu Yan. She patted its head and returned it to her pouch.
Chen Yuan waved his hand, dispersing the blood-red orb. He looked down at Haider, who was gasping for breath like a dog, and said coldly, "If you want to live, don't try anything. Take us to Sea God Island, or you'll slowly feel yourself dying."
Haider's eyes were filled with terror. He could already feel the cold spreading through his body, and no amount of soul power could stop it.
Now, he deeply regretted provoking these demons. He crawled to Chen Yuan's feet, kowtowing and begging, "Young master… no, my lord, we were wrong. Greed blinded us. I'll take you to Sea God Island. Just spare us, and we'll serve you for life."
Chen Yuan turned away, leading Dugu Yan and the others to another part of the deck to enjoy the view. His voice was cold as he said, "You won't die immediately. We'll see Sea God Island first."
Haider was on the verge of tears, but he had no choice. He glanced at his first mate—his own son. If it were just him, he might have tried to resist. But with his son's life at stake, he had no option but to comply.
For the next few days, Haider and his crew shivered as they piloted the Sea Demon toward Sea God Island. He no longer dared to hide anything from Chen Yuan, reporting their progress and any detours they needed to take.
After another six or seven days, having navigated around all the dangerous areas, they finally reached the outskirts of Sea God Island.
Standing on the deck, Haider shivered and stammered, "M-my lord… beyond this stretch of sea is Sea God Island. But this area is home to the rulers of the ocean—the Demon Spirit Great White Sharks. There's even a Demon Spirit Great White Shark King, a terrifying hundred-thousand-year soul beast. We can't go around it. I'm powerless here… Please, my lord, give us the antidote. Some of my crew… they can't hold on much longer…"
Chen Yuan ignored him. He looked at the sea ahead and turned to the four girls, "Yan Yan, Lingling, Rongrong, Zhu Qing, come here. I'll take you through."
As they gathered close, Chen Yuan placed his hands on them, and one by one, they disappeared into thin air. His head soul bone, the Mirror Space, allowed him to store people within it.
Then, Chen Yuan activated the flight skill of his Blue Silver Emperor's right leg bone and soared into the sky, heading toward the distant horizon.
On the deck, Haider watched in stunned silence. After a moment, he realized what had happened. His eyes turned red with rage, and he began cursing, laughing, and crying hysterically before collapsing to his knees, weeping bitterly.
