"Gulp…"
I gulped hard as I saw everyone around us looking at me. People had stopped walking and were staring because I had grabbed Sonny's collar so suddenly. The lively noise of the mall continued, but many eyes were fixed on our small group.
I forced myself to let go of his collar. Sonny calmly straightened his jacket and fixed the collar with a smooth movement, as if nothing serious had happened.
"These rude people can't be your friends, Sonny. Let's leave," the girl beside him said. She wrapped her arm tightly around his and pulled him a little closer, looking angry and protective.
"Don't be like that. I know Aeri quite well," Sonny replied with a low smirk. That smile was full of meaning that only Aeri seemed to understand. His eyes stayed on her for a second longer than necessary.
Aeri quickly averted her eyes and looked down at the floor. She started fidgeting with her own nails, her fingers moving restlessly. Soft sweat appeared on her forehead again.
