Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Yellow Flash Reborn

The sun hung high in the sky, casting golden rays over a secluded training ground surrounded by dense forest.

The sound of clashing blows and bursts of chakra echoed through the clearing, where two figures moved with blinding speed. One was a towering man with wild white hair and a confident smirk, his movements purposeful yet fluid. The other was a younger figure, his long blond hair trailing behind him like a golden flame as he darted through the air with precision and grace.

This was Naruto Uzumaki, the apprentice of Jiraiya and the spitting image of his father, Minato Namikaze.

Naruto's outfit was a striking homage to his father's legacy: a white zip-up jacket with a high collar and bold red accents. Long red sleeves extended down his arms, while a vibrant red flame-like pattern cascaded from his shoulders to his chest, giving the jacket a dynamic and eye-catching appearance. He paired this with dark blue shinobi pants, practical for combat, tucked into black ninja sandals. His long blond hair, identical to Minato's in both length and style, framed his face in soft spikes that fell just above his shoulders, with the rest flaring outward in all directions.

Calm gray-blue eyes locked onto Jiraiya as they sparred, filled with focus and determination.

Jiraiya stood across from him, towering over Naruto with his imposing yet laid-back presence. His waist-length spiky white hair was tied back into a ponytail, while two shoulder-length bangs framed his face. Red lines ran down from his sharp eyes to his jawline, giving him an almost feral appearance. A wart on the left side of his nose added character to his rugged features. He wore a green short-sleeved kimono shirt over mesh armor that peeked out at his wrists and ankles, paired with matching green pants. A black belt cinched his waist, and he wore traditional Japanese wooden sandals that clacked softly against the ground when he moved. Draped over his shoulders was a red haori adorned with two yellow circles on each side—a signature look for one of Konoha's legendary Sannin.

Naruto launched forward with incredible speed, his hand reaching into the pouch at his hip. In a fluid motion, he withdrew several three-pronged kunai—each featuring two additional prongs flanking the central blade and a thicker handle inscribed with the Flying Thunder God formula. With practiced ease, he scattered them across the battlefield, each throw precise and purposeful.

Jiraiya's eyes narrowed as he recognized the strategy. "So, you're starting with that, eh?"

Without a word, Naruto vanished in a flash of yellow light. He reappeared behind Jiraiya, kunai in hand, aiming for a swift strike. Jiraiya barely managed to block it with his own kunai before Naruto was already gone, teleporting to another marked kunai.

"Flying Thunder God," Jiraiya muttered under his breath as he parried another strike. "Just like Minato."

Naruto's movements were a blur of white and red as he teleported between his marked kunai, creating the illusion of being in multiple places at once. He combined this with taijutsu, appearing beside Jiraiya to deliver a powerful kick before vanishing again.

Jiraiya countered by slamming his hands together in a familiar sequence of seals. "Earth Style: Mud Wall!" A massive earthen barrier erupted from the ground between them.

Naruto didn't hesitate. He charged forward, weaving through hand seals at lightning speed. "Wind Style: Gale Palm!" A concentrated burst of wind chakra tore through the mud wall like paper, scattering debris everywhere.

As the dust settled, Naruto appeared again—this time above Jiraiya—his hands glowing with swirling blue chakra. But this wasn't an ordinary Rasengan. The sphere pulsed erratically, its surface covered in sharp-edged spirals that seemed to twist inward infinitely.

"Rasen Helix!" Naruto shouted as he brought the jutsu down toward Jiraiya.

Jiraiya's eyes widened as he recognized the sheer destructive power of the technique. He quickly leapt back just in time for the Rasen Helix to slam into the ground where he had stood moments before. The resulting explosion sent shockwaves rippling through the clearing, carving deep grooves into the earth and leaving behind an intricate spiral pattern scorched into the ground.

"Whoa," Jiraiya muttered under his breath as he landed safely on a nearby tree branch. "You've really outdone yourself this time."

Naruto stood at the center of the crater he had created, breathing heavily but maintaining his calm composure. He looked up at Jiraiya with an almost playful glint in his eye. "What's wrong? Getting too old for this?"

Jiraiya barked out a laugh as he jumped back down to face him again. "You wish! Let's see how you handle this." He slammed his hands together once more. "Summoning Jutsu!"

In a puff of smoke, Gamaken—a massive red toad wielding a giant shield and sasumata—appeared beside Jiraiya.

Naruto smirked slightly and raised his hand, a three-pronged kunai spinning deftly between his fingers. "You're not going easy on me today, huh?"

"Did I ever?" Jiraiya shot back.

The sparring match continued with unrelenting intensity. Naruto used Flying Thunder God kunai to teleport around Gamaken while simultaneously engaging Jiraiya in close combat. His movements were precise yet unpredictable—each strike calculated to exploit even the smallest opening. The red flame pattern on his white jacket seemed to come alive with each swift movement, a visual echo of his father's legendary speed.

In one dazzling move, Naruto threw a kunai past Jiraiya's head as if aiming wide on purpose. However, in an instant flash of yellow light, Naruto teleported mid-flight to that very kunai and appeared directly behind Jiraiya once again—a perfected "Flying Thunder God: Second Step." This maneuver caught Jiraiya off guard just long enough for Naruto to land another powerful strike.

At one point during their battle's climax, Naruto created three shadow clones that attacked from different angles while he prepared another Rasen Helix in secret. When Jiraiya finally noticed it forming behind him on one of Naruto's marked kunai locations—it was already too late—Naruto teleported directly above him using one of those kunai marks mid-air delivering another forceful Rasen Helix downward!

This time though? Gamaken intervened blocking impact!

"Alright," Jiraiya said as he raised both hands in surrender after landing safely once more. "I think that's enough for today."

Naruto lowered his hand, a three-pronged kunai still clutched in his grip, before walking over to where Jiraiya stood, his white jacket now slightly dusty but still pristine.

Jiraiya reached into his pouch and pulled out a popsicle wrapped in wax paper before snapping it cleanly in half. He handed one half to Naruto with an easy grin.

"Here," he said casually. "You've earned it."

Naruto took the popsicle without hesitation and sat down on one of the nearby rocks. For a moment, they ate in companionable silence—the tension from their sparring match melting away like frost under sunlight.

"You're really something else," Jiraiya said after a while, breaking the silence. "Watching you fight… it's like seeing Minato all over again. Especially with that Flying Thunder God technique."

Naruto glanced at him but didn't say anything right away. Instead, he took another bite of his popsicle before finally replying softly, "I just want to make sure I live up to what he left behind."

Jiraiya smiled warmly at that but didn't press further. Instead, he simply patted Naruto on the shoulder before leaning back against a tree trunk.

"You're doing more than just living up to it," he said quietly. "You're making your own legacy."

For once, Naruto allowed himself to smile—a small but genuine expression that lit up his face as they sat there together under the afternoon sun, his white and red jacket a stark contrast against the lush green of their surroundings.
