Chapter 81 - Chapter 81: Vivi's Feelings and Decision

On the way back to Alabasta's royal capital, Su Xiaoqi kept sneaking glances at Nami. Strangely enough, the woman was uncharacteristically calm upon seeing him—no punches, no scolding. Instead, she greeted him with a sweet smile the entire time. Can you believe that?

Knowing Nami as well as he did, Su Xiaoqi was certain she was plotting something behind that smile. He needed to stay on high alert.

Back at the royal palace, Vivi began her nationwide address upon their return. The general narrative was that the Yorozuya Pirate Crew and Crocodile's Baroque Works had engaged in a fierce battle that resulted in heavy casualties on both sides.

Following that, the Alabasta Royal Army discovered the hidden ship of the Yorozuya Pirates and, after another intense fight, managed to rescue Vivi and drive the pirates away.

Though they lost some treasure, peace and order had finally returned to Alabasta. The nation was now truly free from conflict. Going forward, she and her father would work together to rebuild and develop the kingdom.

Meanwhile, back inside the palace, the Straw Hat crew was formally introduced to their newest member—Nico Robin. Upon seeing the elegant new addition, Sakata Gintoki and Sanji immediately swarmed her with attention.

"This is a dessert I made just for you, my lady. Please, have a taste," Sanji offered.

"Robin-chan, you're my favorite character in this entire world," Gintoki added. "But if it's possible, I'd love it even more if you could switch to your post-timeskip skin tone."

As Su Xiaoqi nibbled on one of Sanji's desserts, he casually remarked, "Gintoki, I thought you said your favorites were Nami and Hancock. Since when did that change to Robin?"

"You bastard! When did I ever say such a thing? I love all beautiful women in this world equally!" Gintoki snapped.

"You jerk! I made those desserts for the ladies! Who said you, a damn Saiyan, could eat them? Spit it out right now!" Sanji shouted.

And just like that, the "Anti-Su Xiaoqi Alliance" was reestablished.

But Robin, intrigued by the term Sanji had used, asked, "Sanji-kun, what exactly is a Saiyan?"

Sanji pointed to Su Xiaoqi's tail. "You see that moving tail behind him? That's the most obvious trait of a Saiyan."

Gintoki added, "Saiyans can transform into monster-like beings that eat people. You should probably keep your distance. Say... he didn't do anything indecent to you just now, did he?"

"Hmm…" Robin nodded thoughtfully, then smiled as she looked at Su Xiaoqi. "This Saiyan did do some rather excessive things to me. He brought me here in a rather forceful way."

"NANI?!" ×2

Hearing this, Gintoki and Sanji immediately erupted in outrage, directing a barrage of moral condemnation toward Su Xiaoqi.

Bang, bang, bang, bang.

Nami smacked the two idiots on the head and turned to Robin. "Robin, how much do you know about us now?"

Robin smiled. "Thanks to someone, I've gotten a fairly complete picture, Captain Nami."

"Don't call me that!!"

Nami shot Su Xiaoqi a glare that could kill. Su Xiaoqi threw up his hands innocently. "Why are you looking at me? I wasn't the one who said it. Stop blaming everything on me."

Nami snorted coldly. She made a mental note to settle this score later—all of it.

Just then, Vivi appeared before them in a pink dress and said with a warm smile, "Everyone, dinner is ready. Please follow me."

When the group arrived at the banquet hall, they saw Luffy—his body wrapped in bandages—already sitting at the table and eating. Sitting at the head of the table was King Cobra, sweating nervously.

Cobra genuinely didn't expect that there would be another glutton in the crew besides Su Xiaoqi. If these people stayed a few more days, his treasury might be completely emptied.

Once everyone was seated, Cobra stood and began, "Everyone, thank you—"

"Chotto matte!" Gintoki suddenly shouted, pointing at Su Xiaoqi across the table. "Why does he get to sit next to the ladies? I demand a seat change!"

Sanji nodded in agreement. "That's right! We want to sit with the ladies too! Either switch his seat or move him elsewhere!"

Su Xiaoqi chuckled. "Sanji, I forgot to tell you—I've got a spare Clear-Clear Fruit. I was thinking of giving it to either you or Gintoki, but seeing how close the two of you are, I think it'd be unfair to pick one over the other. So, I've decided to give it to someone else."

Sanji immediately switched gears. "Now, now, no need to be so formal! I barely know that white-haired guy! Want some more of my cooking? I'll make it right now!"

"Excuse me? We're strangers!" Gintoki snapped. Then, turning to Su Xiaoqi with a sweet smile, he added, "Big bro, I've always been on your side. I mean, if you want me to sleep on that side of the table, I'll gladly do it."

Zoro scoffed in disdain. "You two are pathetic. Real men don't rely on Devil Fruits."

"You green-haired idiot, do you even understand how valuable the Clear-Clear Fruit is?" Gintoki sneered.

"He's right! It's every man's ultimate dream! A sword-obsessed moron like you wouldn't get it!" Sanji added.

Standing awkwardly for a long while, Cobra finally interrupted, "Um… can I finish what I was saying?"

Sanji grumbled, "Ugh, pipe down, old man. Who wants to hear you ramble?"

Gintoki waved him off, "Yeah, yeah. Just sit and eat quietly. It'll help your metabolism."

Vivi stood up then, smiling gently. "Everyone, may I say a few words?"

This time, Sanji and Gintoki stayed quiet, and even Luffy paused his meal. All eyes turned to Vivi, knowing her next words would reveal whether or not she was joining the Straw Hat Pirates.

After thanking everyone—except Su Xiaoqi—Vivi turned to Luffy and said, "Luffy, I'm sorry. I can't join the Straw Hat Pirates."

"Huh? But why?"

Her words left the entire crew visibly disheartened. Even Nami hadn't anticipated this outcome—she never imagined Vivi wouldn't join.

Su Xiaoqi hadn't expected it either, though it made perfect sense. While he understood Vivi's choice, he still felt a twinge of sadness. After all, this meant they'd see less of each other in the future.

Then, Vivi turned her gaze to Su Xiaoqi. "Could I ask you to stand up for a moment?"

"Huh? What is it?" Su Xiaoqi asked as he stood, slightly confused.

In front of everyone, Vivi took his right hand and looked up at him. "Su Xiaoqi, will you invite me to join the Yorozuya Pirate Crew?"

"What's going on now?"

The Straw Hat crew was baffled. Wasn't the Yorozuya Pirate Crew just Su Xiaoqi's tool to prank Nami? How was that any different from joining them?

They didn't get it—but Nami did. She realized Vivi was never planning to refuse. She was just choosing a different way to say yes.

Others began to catch on as well. Vivi was helping Su Xiaoqi earn more points by officially joining his crew instead.

Su Xiaoqi also quickly caught on and said, "I don't mind losing out on some points. But if the Marines ever discover your identity, it could bring trouble to your kingdom."

Vivi smiled. "If that ever happens, my hero will come save the kingdom again… won't he?"

Su Xiaoqi nodded and grinned. "Of course."

Just when everyone thought the conversation was over, Vivi stunned them again.

"Su Xiaoqi, can you be my hero forever?"

"I love you."

Su Xiaoqi froze for a moment, then took her left hand. "Vivi, I love you too."

After speaking, he instinctively glanced over at Zhu Zhuqing—he hadn't told her about any of this yet.

Zhu Zhuqing chuckled, "Why are you looking at me? I already told you yesterday that Vivi's a good girl. You just didn't understand what I meant."

Vivi smiled. "I've already spoken to Zhuqing. I was afraid you might reject me, but now that I've heard your answer, I'm truly happy."

"From now on, Zhuqing and I will take care of you together—and help you earn even more points."

Watching this, Nami's heart soured. We're both adorable girls—so why does she get pampered while I get treated like cannon fodder?

Gintoki and Sanji looked so jealous they were practically vibrating. What's so great about Saiyans anyway?

The others offered their congratulations, while Lu Linglong teased Su Xiaoqi, saying he was now completely "wife-controlled."

Just then, a soldier ran in with a stack of wanted posters and handed them to Cobra.

Su Xiaoqi glanced at the one on top—his own—and chuckled. "Didn't think the Navy would act this fast."

Cobra twitched at the comment. You literally had me call the World Government directly—of course they moved fast.
