Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: Kamehameha Wave

"Hiss—"

Su Xiaoqi rubbed his sore backside. Ning Rongrong's earlier outburst had startled him so much that he lost control of his ki and fell out of the air.

Fortunately, he hadn't been flying very high, and he'd landed butt-first. If he had landed on his head, he probably would've ended up with a massive bump.

Zhu Zhuqing's face was filled with worry. She had tried to catch him, but the incident happened too suddenly—and with the weights she was wearing, she arrived just a second too late and could only watch him hit the ground right in front of her.

The culprit, Ning Rongrong, apologized with a guilty look on her face. "Sorry! I just got too excited. Want me to… um… rub it for you?"

Su Xiaoqi shot her an irritated glare. "Ning Rongrong, can you stop talking like that? This is already what, the third time?"

He was increasingly convinced that there was something seriously wrong with her brain. That's not something you just casually offer to rub!

Zhu Zhuqing gave Ning Rongrong a sharp glare, then gently helped Su Xiaoqi to his feet and asked with concern, "Does it still hurt? Do you want to rest for a bit?"

"I'm feeling better now," Su Xiaoqi replied. "It's just a minor bruise—I'll recover quickly. And besides, I want to practice while I still have a feel for it."

"Okay. I'll stay with you."

Zhu Zhuqing considered herself fairly diligent when it came to training, but Su Xiaoqi's level of intensity was on another level. She was the first to admit she couldn't keep up with his dedication.

Su Xiaoqi asked both Zhu Zhuqing and Ning Rongrong not to disturb him, then sat cross-legged on the ground. Closing his eyes, he began to focus, feeling the flow of energy within his body.

This time, his goal was to fire a ki blast.

Time passed slowly. After nearly an hour of sitting motionless, Ning Rongrong was starting to grow restless.

But just as she was about to say something to Zhu Zhuqing, the latter shot her a warning look. She understood how important this moment was for Su Xiaoqi and knew nothing could be allowed to disrupt him.

Ten more minutes passed. Suddenly, Su Xiaoqi opened his eyes and stood up. He formed his hands into a cupped shape and brought them to his waist. In the next second, a blue-white orb of energy began to form in his palms.

"Kaameha~me…"

With each syllable he uttered, the blue-white orb grew larger and more powerful.

"HA!!!"

As he shouted the final syllable, a blue-white beam of energy with a long trailing tail burst forth from his palms.

Boom!

Not far in front of him, a boulder as tall as a man shattered into several pieces under the blast. Both Zhu Zhuqing and Ning Rongrong stared wide-eyed at the destruction.

Su Xiaoqi looked at his trembling hands, his heart racing with excitement. He had done it. Although the blast wasn't very powerful yet, he had successfully unleashed a real Kamehameha wave!

Overjoyed, he raced over to Zhu Zhuqing and hugged her tightly. "Zhuqing, did you see that? I did it!"

Zhu Zhuqing was surprised at first, but quickly smiled. "Congratulations. That means I can leave my safety in your hands now."

Su Xiaoqi nodded earnestly. "Don't worry. I'll protect you for the rest of my life."

Zhu Zhuqing wrapped her arms around his waist. "I'll remember those words forever."

Just as the two were growing closer, an unwelcome voice interrupted them.

"Hey, can you two be a little more considerate of my feelings here?"

Su Xiaoqi released Zhu Zhuqing with an annoyed expression and glared at Ning Rongrong. "Why is it always you? I'm starting to think bringing you along was a mistake."

Ning Rongrong wasn't offended. Grinning, she teased, "Well, you already brought me, didn't you? So tell me—what was that 'Kame-something' just now?"

"That was my self-created soul skill," Su Xiaoqi replied, brushing her off casually. He had no intention of explaining further.

Zhu Zhuqing added firmly, "Rongrong, you're not allowed to speak a single word about what you saw today. If you do, don't blame me for turning hostile."

Ning Rongrong tilted her head and replied playfully, "I've been meditating this whole time. Did something happen?"

Su Xiaoqi couldn't help but laugh at her act. "You're smart now, but this morning you were so easily fooled by Flender's nonsense."

"But since you're being so cooperative, I might teach you those two techniques later—if you behave."

Su Xiaoqi understood well the idea of giving both a slap and a sweet date.

In theory, everyone possesses "ki," and anyone can learn to control it through training. But actually mastering it is far from easy.

So even if he shared the method with Ning Rongrong, she might not be able to learn it.

Excited by the possibility, Ning Rongrong patted her modest chest and vowed, "Don't worry, I'll be on my best behavior!"

"We'll see," Su Xiaoqi said. "But your physical condition is too weak right now. If you want to learn this, you'll have to strengthen your body first. Just don't forget what's most important—your top priority is still cultivating soul power. Got it?"

He was just being considerate—he didn't want Ning Rongrong to delay her soul cultivation chasing after abilities she might not even grasp.

"Yes, understood!" Ning Rongrong replied loudly.

Satisfied, Su Xiaoqi nodded, put his weights back on, and said, "Alright, that's enough for today. Let's head back to the hotel and get some rest."

Once back at the Rose Hotel, Ning Rongrong returned to her room to write a letter to her father, Ning Fengzhi, detailing all the ugliness she'd seen at Shrek Academy.

Meanwhile, Su Xiaoqi flopped onto the sofa in Zhu Zhuqing's room, half-resting and half-chatting with the group.

Zhu Zhuqing had originally planned to use this alone time to ask him a few questions, but seeing how animated he was in the chat, she decided to let it go. She figured their relationship would develop naturally—it was only a matter of time.
