He could feel that his forearm muscles were cooked, completely unusable right now, under normal circumstances they wouldn't have been torn like that, it's especially because they were severely damaged that they tore when they were put under greater strain.
"Taro!!"
Aizawa shouted as he got close to him, and caused the young man to look in his direction.
"Are you okay?! What happened?!"
Once the hero reached the young man's body, he saw the blood on his face and body and feared for the worst.
"Mr Aizawa, can you hear the drums of liberation?"
Taro questioned and dryly laughed, his heart beating drumming under his chest, reminding him of One piece. Apparently, in this world, most anime from his world are considered old, like really old, but there's still people out there who love watching the classics
"Are you hurt?"
Unfortunately for Taro, the reference he made was lost on the hero.
"Nah I'm fine. I probably can't use my arms properly right now, meaning I can't fight"
He answered as he did his best to sit upright. His forearms hurt like hell as he did so. However, Aizawa quickly helped him up. The blood on his body did not belong to him and he had not sustained fatal injuries.
"What happened? did you kill that thing, at least?"
Aizawa loathed to ask that question as inwardly he felt like he was depending on a student when it should be the other way around.
There was a small pause before Taro could answer, a flicker of disappointment showed on the young man's face before he spoke.
"No, at present, I'm not strong enough to beat it.
He said those words with bitterness and contempt, his confidence took a hit, and he had realised that he was not as strong as he needed to be. He hadn't taken things as seriously as he should have. If he hadn't been able to stop the barrage of punches, his arms would have been broken, and his face rearranged.
There was a possibility of death, and that alone had made his stomach churn anxiously. He took this world too lightly.
"So it's still alive down there?"
Taro nodded.
"This is the part where All Might shows up."
He said half jokingly and half serious. Unfortunately, nobody knew when the heroes would arrive. The plan was botched, and the villains already knew about it and prepared accordingly.
Due to this, Aizawa did not know when All Might would show up, nor did he know when other heroes would arrive either.
"I'm afraid we're gonna have to wait a little before that. What about the other students?"
He admitted and then asked about the other 1A students.
"Mina was injured, but I'm sure the rest are fine, probably."
"What do you mean probably, and how badly was Mina injured?"
While Taro divulged the state of his fellow classmates, Shigaraki and Kurogiri had walked over to the crater and looked at the rapidly regenerating Nomu. Shigaraki couldn't help but feel irritation all over his body. The Nomu was made to kill All Might. Why the hell was it losing to a kid that's not even a hero.
"To think a child could do all this to the Nomu, truly the master has an eye for talent"
Kurogiri spoke over Shigaraki's shoulder, and Shigaraki couldn't help but feel his ears perk up, and something clicked on his head, almost as if he figured something out.
"I see that makes sense, of course"
He said with a small grin forming on his face, the current Nomu was the first perfected prototype, while they were confident in it killing All Might, in the event that it fails then finding a material that would make the next Nomu more powerful was necessary.
Shigaraki looked at Taro and he couldn't help but chuckle out loud, His master never really divulged the specifics regarding his reasons for bringing in an incomplete Nomu as a test for Taro Yaoyorozu, now it made sense.
"I can't say I'm happy for not being informed. However, the master's forward thinking is incredible"
"Indeed, Tomura Shigaraki"
Kurogiri agreed. However, he was completely unaware of what conclusion Shigaraki came to. The comment he made about their master's eye for talent was just him praising his master, nothing more.
Tomura turned to look at Taro and Aizawa. He looked at Taro very intently. It was clear the young man was tired, meaning once the Nomu fully regenerated, it was over for them.
"Congratulations Taro Yaoyorozu, I'd clap for you, but I already did that. Slow clapping twice makes it less effective"
He said now looking at Taro with a brand new understanding, the fact that Taro managed to defeat the incomplete Nomu showed that Shigaraki's master had underestimated the young man's strength, meaning now he was more valuable than initially.
Shigaraki couldn't help but smile, feeling excited that he found such information and would be able to report it to his master once this is over.
"Thanks but being praised by crusty men doesn't do anything for me."
Taro stated as he stood up with the help of Aizawa, his face showing his confidence, despite the fact at this moment they were definitely at a disadvantage.
"Nomu!"
With but a word, Nomu leaped off the crater and landed right beside Shigaraki and Kurogiri. It's landing, shaking the ground, its arms are fully healed and once again ready for another round.
"I see that you're confident, Taro Yaoyorozu, but how far does that confidence go? Nomu is ready for another round, are you?"
Shigaraki questioned with a confident tone that told that he believed he had the advantage and he was happy about it. Not only that, but the villains that Aizawa had knocked out had begun to wake up, giving the villains a great advantage.
Hearing Shigaraki's words, Taro couldn't help but curse inwardly, and so did Aizawa.
However, as luck would have it, both of them heard the sound of explosions from a distance. At first, it was a distant boom. However, seconds later, the boom was much closer, and in mere seconds, Katsuki Bakugou arrived.
Taro couldn't help but smile. The anxiety that had begun to creep up due to the disadvantage suddenly faded, Bakugou's arrival brought with it a renewed confidence.
The Blonde young man had touched down and slid onto the floor before coming to a complete stop right beside Taro.
"Fucking hell, what took you? don't tell me those no name villains actually made you struggle"
"Don't be stupid, small fry villains are nothing to me"
The blonde responded, his face showing an excited grin and his tone filled with the confidence of a football striker.
"So you say but I dealt with my villains and got here without a sweat"
Taro stated, his body having already forgotten the anxiety of facing Nomu while handicapped, He would never say it to Bakugou's face but Taro trusted the young man enough to believe he would provide great support.
Hearing Taro's remark Bakugou couldn't help but shake his head in exasperation, he glanced at Taro's bruised arms and let out a chuckle.
"You bitch, you sure you should be talking like that to me with those injuries?"
Bakugou remarked, however Taro was unfazed and doubled down."Do I look like the type to kiss ass? you're a hero ain't you? Do your job"
Bakugou couldn't tell whether he should be pissed or relieved, if Taro could still talk like that then that meant the situation wasn't as dire as he may have thought, not only that but it shouldn't be too long before the rest of class reaches this area.
"As much as I appreciate the light banter, this is not the time you two. Bakugou, I trust the rest are on their way?"
Aizawa gave them a small reprimand and asked about the rest of the class, Bakugou gave him a nod and with that confirmation Aizawa stepped forward.
"Alright, I'll take point, follow my orders to the letter, understand!"
"You got it"
"Yes sir"
The two lads agreed without issue.
"Good, now first, the real problem is that big guy, the rest as weak–"Just Aizawa was going to continue to tell the two boys the strategy for the fight however he was cut off. There was a scream coming from the distance.
"AHHHHHHHHH"
It was a scream but it did not sound like that person screaming was hurt or screaming for help, in fact it seemed like the screaming was getting closer and closer as it got louder.
"EHHHHHMMM"
Before anyone could ask the question of what the scream was, the closed doors of the facility burst open, both doors being flung off their frames and flying across the room.
The light from the outside gleamed, beaming onto the room and obscuring the large figure of the individual that had arrived. However Aizawa was the first to know who it was.
"HERE!!!"His deep voice boomed as he entered the facility, leaping from the entrance and straight into the central plaza, skipping the stairs entirely.
"All Might!!"....
