Late Night
"This is classified!"
When Adam pressed her, Jessie Peggy instantly put on her stern agent face.
"Tsk tsk," Adam smirked. "Back when you were pulling every trick in the book to get my help, there was no 'classified' this or that. Now it's all 'top secret' with you, Agent Peggy. Gotta say, your flip-flopping is a real sight to behold."
"…"
Jessie had no comeback. Adam wasn't wrong—she had begged him for help back then, and now, thanks to him, she'd scored a big win. Plus, the guy was annoyingly persuasive.
"Fine, I'll tell you," she caved, "but you've gotta keep it under wraps."
"No worries," Adam grinned. "It's straight from your lips to my ears—no third parties here. And c'mon, do I look like a blabbermouth to you?"
"I can't tell," Jessie shot back. "You strike me as the gossipy type—why else would you dig into classified stuff like this?"
"Hey, you forced the gossip out of me," Adam countered. "If you hadn't roped me in first, would I even care?"
"...What do you want to know?" Jessie sighed, giving up.
"Everything," Adam said, eyes gleaming with curiosity. "Brian picked up those god-tier driving skills from me and went undercover in California. Now he's cracked the biggest high-speed robbery case out there, taking down the whole crew. But that bald cop—what's his deal? Why's he in the spotlight while the real star's nowhere to be seen? There's gotta be a wild, twisty story here. Lay it out like a movie—blow my mind!"
"I don't know that much, just the basics," Jessie said, rolling her eyes. She thought for a sec before diving in. "Brian took your driving tricks and went to Cali posing as a wanted felon. Through an FBI informant, he got a job at an auto parts shop the robbery crew hung out at. He'd hit up the crew leader's sister's diner all the time, and with his good looks, he easily charmed her. One of the gang members had a crush on her too, got jealous, and after a scuffle, the leader—who was already sick of Brian flirting with his sister—beat him up, told him to get lost, and tried to get him fired from the shop. The shop owner, the FBI's guy, held firm and kept Brian on.
"Then Brian went on the offensive, setting up a sting to nab the leader. That night, he hit a street race, used your crazy skills, and drove a souped-up car like a maniac to beat the guy. That's when the LAPD rolled in. That bald cop you mentioned? That's Hobbs, their star detective. He's got insane strength—"
Jessie paused, remembering Adam's freakish power, and dialed back her awe. "Anyway, he's tough as nails. Chased down the fleeing leader himself. After a high-speed pursuit, they ditched their cars and squared off. Turns out the leader's no slouch either—those two were almost evenly matched, slugging it out 'til they could barely stand. That's when Brian swooped in, grabbed the leader, and earned his trust.
"From there, he infiltrated the crew, gathered evidence, and teamed up with Hobbs to take them all down. The higher-ups saw Brian's driving skills as gold—perfect for more undercover gigs to bust other speed freaks. So they scrubbed his tracks."
"That's it?" Adam groaned, disappointed.
"That's it," Jessie snapped. "What else do you want?"
"Was the leader's sister hot?" Adam perked up. "Did Brian catch feelings?"
"She's pretty," Jessie said, her gaze dipping. "But Brian stuck to the mission—kept it professional, just playing the part."
"Oh, come on," Adam teased, seeing right through her. "Not even a flicker of heart? No wavering? Don't hide it—he totally got shook. If I hadn't drilled into him how real criminals operate, how their 'loyalty' is all fake, he'd have flipped sides ages ago!"
"I don't know the details…" Jessie admitted, unable to dodge Adam's radar. "But he did vouch for her in court, swore she wasn't involved in any of the crimes."
"Knew it!" Adam clapped his hands.
"Ow!" Jessie flinched. "If you're that excited, smack yourself, not me!"
"Sorry, sorry," Adam laughed, pulling back. "Got carried away. Rub it for you? Keep going—what's up with Brian and the sister now?"
"What do you think?" Jessie swatted his hand away, frowning. "They're done. This isn't some romance novel or soap opera where the heroine forgives everything. That was her brother—her ride-or-die—and his whole crew. They're all locked up, probably for life. No matter how much she liked Brian, she's not sticking with him after that."
"Fair point," Adam nodded. "Man, the leader must hate Brian now. Betrayed him, hooked up with his sister, then ditched her? That's a blood feud waiting to happen."
"He deserves it," Jessie scoffed. "He's pulled the same crap himself."
"Then the hate's gotta be off the charts," Adam laughed. "They say you hate most what you see in yourself. If that guy ever gets out and finds Brian, he's toast—Brian can't take him in a fight."
"He's not getting out," Jessie said. "And even if he did, Hobbs is still around. These car heist cases? They're often interstate or international. Word is, Hobbs got bumped up to the Security Bureau's action team. Bet he'll be teaming up with Brian a lot from now on."
"Nice twist," Adam chuckled. "Lose one bald guy, gain another. Brian and Hobbs—pretty boy and muscle-head, keeping the Fast & Furious vibe alive. Both on the good side too. If they built a crime-busting 'family' out of this, it'd be a wholesome one—won't corrupt the kids!"
His mind raced ahead. Maybe Brian would rise in the underworld, earning a legendary "Car God" rep. Then he'd have a son, passing down those driving skills and counter-surveillance tricks from day one. The kid, clueless his dad's a cop, would be a natural—trained by a master. Before long, he'd dominate the streets, dubbed the "Car Saint" by the underworld.
But this Car Saint? Kind-hearted, timid as a mouse. He'd retire young, kicking back with a few buddies, chatting over beers in a bar—a simple, happy life. Then, bam—he'd stumble into Hobbs' daughter, getting dragged into a whirlwind of speed and chaos.
At this rate, forget Fast & Furious 10—they could crank out Fast & Furious 100. Adam couldn't wait to see it play out.
