Chapter 31 - Chapter 31

For miles and miles Sapphire ran with Kay, and for miles and miles Kay couldn't even comprehend what was going on. She felt flashes of wind spiral around her, and felt like she was inside a jet.

She was going so fast that she felt her head was about to explode due to the rapid acceleration of them. They seemed to be going into a more isolated and secluded place.

Tall amazon-like trees, with waterfalls as far as the eye could see. Along with mountains and vast space of wilderness and forests. She didn't know precisely where they were going, but if they were going to see Ivaander she didn't mind.

What felt like only mere seconds, they clearly had to have traveled at least 400 miles or maybe more from where they were. She heard nothing but loud wind popping inside her earlobes.

It wasn't a normal speed for a human, and thus it was pretty much like a jelly feeling of her body once they reached their destination. Sapphire eventually stopped at a nearby trail.

Releasing Kaylee so she could finally take a rest, but the second Kaylee let sapphire go, she collapsed on the ground. Her lungs felt like they were about to close in on itself.

" Breathe. You must— breathe. " Sapphire calmly told her.

" A—ah.. easy… for… you…. To… say… " Kay proclaimed while taking big gulps of air she could muster to absorb in.

" I understand the speed is not for mere mortals. I apologize. But it was the only way I could get us here in time. " She remarked.

Kay finally managed to catch her breath, before she slowly wobbled towards her own two feet. Shifting her gaze over towards Sapphire who seemed to have her eyes occupied elsewhere.

" Get us where? " Kay questioned, before she looked over at the trail that seemed to be leading them up a hilltop.

"…. We're headed up there? " Kay asked her.

" Yes. You were here the last time as well —- he is also here, and it was— safer… to keep you here this time. " Sapphire briefly and vaguely explained.

Kaylee being confused, and somewhat shocked, listened to what the other stated. Sapphire started to walk away, while Kay caught up with her and questioned some more.

" Huh? I was— here? Already before? What do you mean? And what do you mean I'm ' safer ' here? "

Kay was tired of all the riddling and not getting any precise answers from anyone. It was as if they were intentionally trying to keep things hidden. Which all she wanted to know was why?

Who are these creatures and what are they doing here? How did they get here? How long have they been around? What time period did they teleport from?

The more Kaylee wanted to know, the more she simply followed Sapphire who didn't bother to answer that question as they proceeded further into the pathway.

Before long, they had arrived at the same dark goth-like manor that Kaylee first came too about several weeks back. She was starting to get a flashback about this place.

It was starting to come back to her, and the more she looked around and saw the sensory, it became painfully obvious. Her orbs rotated over to notice the maids and butlers who had glowing golden eyes, as they looked at her back.

' …. I … I remember this place. ' She thought to herself as Sapphire and Kay headed into the front door.

" Wait here. I shall go and retrieve them. " Sapphire briefly told Kaylee, as she walked away, and headed down a hallway.

Kay watched Sapphire disappear again, as Kay checked her surroundings, and noticed something all too familiar. That same gigantic stairwell, along with the decorations within the manor.

She also noticed the massive living room area, with the fireplace and that old grandfather clock ticking inside. She closed her eyelids and remembered the bruises she obtained that night, along with Ivaander and his attires.

"... Wait…. " She said aloud towards herself.

" This…. This is where I came when— "

" ….When I saved you that night." Ivaander stated as Kaylee quickly turned around and saw him standing in the doorways of the living room.

The two exchanged stares from each other, as Kaylee looked him over and noticed he seemed calm and a bit reserved this time around. His orbs also were their normal color again, and he was wearing casual attire.

Kaylee felt like her heart skipped a beat seeing him, and seeing him alive, as she immediately felt her eyelids start to tear up. Ivaander saw her expression, as he slowly approached deeper into the area.

"…. Hello, Kaylee. " Ivaander spoke softly, as Kaylee heard him say those words tears ran down her face as she rushed over to him and hugged him.

The two hugged one another tightly, as he took his hand and placed it into her head and rubbed her head gently. Weeping into his shoulder blade, as Kaylee clutched into his shirt like her life depending on it.

The two stood there together, embracing one another as the fireplace crackled with flames.

" …. I am glad to see you are well. " Kaylee would remark, as the two have now sat on the couch together.

" … I am, thank you, but you should not worry about me, it is you— that I should be concerned for. " Ivaander told her back.

" ... Then why didn't you come and see me? It's been four days…. Ivaander… " Kaylee stated with a bit of a more stern tone, that sounded broken.

"…. I know… " Ivaander softly responded back.

Kay hearing his response, her orbs widened a bit at him, wondering if he was going to say more than that.

" … You know… ? Is that all you're going to say? " She replied.

Ivaander sighed, listening to her words, though internally he couldn't help but begin to form a bit of a grin.

" I was worried sick! About you…. Okay? So you are not speaking and then running off into— God knows where?! I mean—- by the maker… I thought—! " She was beginning to say as she saw Ivaander start to laugh a bit.

Kaylee, noticing the grin and laughter, became puzzled and a bit irritated by his reaction.

" What? Is this funny to you? "

Ivaander, unable to help but find it amusing, looked over at her with his narrow sharp gaze. He shook his head a bit and shrugged a tad as well.

" .. No… no.. it's just — well, you are quite — pleasing when you are acting this way….. I find it… to be rather…. quaint. " Ivaander told her, with a small grin again.

Kaylee hearing his soothing voice and words, made her blush a bit before she turned her face elsewhere. She was trying to be upset with him, and here he is finding it to be amusing and flattering.

" Ugh…. So what? Are all you all this confusing and strange? " She asked him.

Ivaander couldn't help but look down and keep the grin plastered against his face. Kaylee rolled her eyes a bit and turned her body away from him.

Ivaander chuckled and took his hand and placed it on her leg gently.

" … Okay… Okay.. I — I apologize. My…. Kind. We are used to… ' tough women ' …. You can think of it as like a ….. ' turn on ' mechanism for us… " He explained to her further.

Kaylee, understanding him, looked back at him and felt a bit of a flustering hearing him say such a thing. She didn't realize he was becoming more relaxed and rather turned on by her behavior.

Oddly enough she wanted to keep going because he said that, but she was too nervous to really do it. She also wanted questions answered. She has been dying to ask him for awhile now.

She felt this was her only chance, and she felt she also knew he knew that too. Perhaps, he was waiting for her to do it now.

" ….. What is…. Your kind…. " Kaylee would finally ask him clear as day now.

Ivaander listening to her, hearing the rain come down against the manor, as he had begun to rain outside. Nightfall, settling in, as the clock had stroked 12 am now.

" …. I am a deity demon-vamp hybrid god. "

As Ivaander said his species, a loud thunder sound crackled in the sky. Kaylee almost lost her breath as she heard him speak. She was in shock, curiosity, and fear all in once.

" And…. The kind I am surrounded by are.. a group of hybrid vampires, mixed with siren blood. " Ivaander explained further.

Once Ivaander finished speaking, silence was the loudest thing between them both, as Kaylee was on the opposite side of Ivaander now sitting on another couch.

Though the two of them were still close to one another, the only thing between them was a glass table.

"…. Are you scared? " Ivaander asked her upfront.

Kaylee eyeing him right into his pupils responded back with no hesitation.

" … No… "

" Then, you're a fool. " Ivaander quickly responded back towards her, his hands folded together as he leaned forward on his legs.

" Then let me be a fool… " Kaylee clapped back and stated, as she leaned further forward on the edge of the couch.

"…. I know… what I want… " Kaylee told him.

Ivaander feeling his heart sped up a bit hearing her state what she wanted. He wanted to pretend like he didn't know already, as he placed his head down briefly.

Sliding his thumbs back and forth against one another, as his orbs gleamed a bit.

" …. And what is that… " He asked her, already knowing the answer.

Kaylee, seeing his body language, immediately got up from the couch slowly approaching him. She eventually walked over towards the other side, and slowly sat down beside him.

Ivaander shifted his head back up again, and turned his head to the left to look over at her. Kaylee made them make eye contact with each other, as she slowly took her hand and touched his cheek.

However, before she could touch him, he quickly gripped her hand, which made her gasp suddenly in a shock. It was as if he was trying to stop her from making that mistake, but Kay instead pressed on.

Gently touching his cheek with her hand, as his face fell against her warm palm. His purple eyes closed slowly into her embrace, as she watched him carefully and spoke.

" ….. I think you already know… "

Ivaander gradually moved his hand up to touch hers, as he eventually opened his eyes slowly and looked at her.

"…. Yeah…the answer is no. "

Kaylee, seeing his expression, was calm, but his orbs started to change color as he looked into her brown eyes.

"…. Your mind is saying no…. But what is your body telling you…. " Kaylee would softly whisper towards him, as she leaned closer and closer.

Ivaander, feeling a rush, and burning sensation inside his body, continuously tried to resist the temptations within him. The male, however, watching her and glancing down at her lips every now and then would reply.

" …. It's… saying…. to devour her…. and make you mine…. forever~ "

Kaylee, unable to resist his presence anymore, leaned into him and pecked his lips with a small kiss, before kissing him again, and this time locking lips with him.

Though she was supposed to be fearful of hearing what he stated, that feeling was an understatement compared to the overwhelming desire to lay with him, and be with him. Perhaps, it was the siren dna within him that drew her.

She really didn't know, but nor did she care, to her it felt natural to want him around her. She didn't think or assume she was being controlled or hypnotized by his power one bit.

Ivaander feeling her lips once again, tugged on her lips tightly entwining their mouths, as she took both her hands and cupped his cheeks, pulling on his face as she started to lean back into the couch.

Ivaander, knowing the movement, immediately placed his hands firmly into the couch to stop them from laying down together. Although, she didn't break their kiss, as she simply tried to make him lay down so she could be on top instead.

Though he also wasn't going for that either, as he unlocked their passionate and fierce kissing.

" …. Stop.. now before you make me hungry for you…." Ivaander stated in a more dark demonic tone, that still sounded charming and seductive, as his eyes began to change into red.

Kaylee knew most likely what would happen, and at this point any sane person wouldn't even be here right now. Although Kay didn't seem to know when the line was to stop with him.

She didn't seem to care about that, she just wanted to make him happy, and if that is what he desires from her, she didn't want to not give him that desire, if it would please him.

" …. Go ahead... I'm not going to stop you… " She would softly tell him, which made the male freeze in place hearing her sincerity.

" … I want this…. and I want you…. Ivaander… "

Ivaander, listening to her, started to make him angry, as the lights within the living room began to flicker on and off. The wind outside became increasingly louder as he started to speak.

" ... You don't even know me….. you don't know what you're asking for….. you are throwing your life away .... don't do this Kaylee….." He explained as he got up from the couch with her.

To which Kaylee got up with anger as well.

" …. For fuck sakes! I wish everyone would stop telling me what it is I want ! " She shouted.

" How would you know what I want!? What if this is what I want!? People all my life trying to tell me how to run my life! Like I don't know who I am! " Kaylee screamed in a fit of rage, as she started to form tears.

" … Well, do you know who you are!? " Ivaander exclaimed back in a firm tone, to which Kaylee froze in a speechless expression.

" Truly!? Do you! Because I don't think you do! " Ivaander remarked.

" Oh? Okay? and you do!? " Kaylee screamed at him.

" Yes! " Ivaander quickly responded back to her without thinking.

Silence between them again, as the lights bursted after his response, and the windows shattered breaking glass from around the place. Along with a lound thundering pounding sound from outside.

Kaylee was stunned at his words, felt conflicted and also puzzled by him. He claimed to know her, but never met her, as if he was reading her mind? Perhaps, maybe he knew more than he was letting her know.

" ... Shit…. " He mumbled to himself, realizing what was happening around him, as the doors to the living room opened up and Devin entered.

" Master Yami, is everything alright? " The young male would speak, as Kaylee hearing him adddess Ivaander as Yami now sparked new questions.

Ivaander, now being called Yami, looked back towards Devin and sighed with a breath.

" …. Uh.. yes, yes, everything is fine…. Just… " Yami was beginning to say before looking over at a speechless Kay, as she looked with emotionless eyes.

" …. Take Kaylee up towards a guest room for the night…. Let her get some rest…. " Yami told Devin, as Devin nodded a bit and walked over towards Kaylee.

" Come… " In his deep tone of voice but still somewhat nonchalant as he was following Yami's command.

Kaylee, feeling flustered and dumbfounded by the entire ordeal, simply allowed Devin to take her out the living room as he gripped her arm and made her follow suit behind him.
